You could always manually insert the codes, but that takes an extremely long time. It would probably take less time than having to check IV's without it, though.

I believe you can, but you'll have to enter all the base codes for the game as well, which could take a while. Luckily you don't have to use an in-system keyboard, you can just use the touch screen for imput.
Would probably be easier to find the cable.

On EV/IV debate:
I don't really give a crap about either, but to play with my mates at uni we all play with as high stats as we can get.
It hurts everyone when nobody is doing any stat changes, a lot of matchups become luck of the draw, especially defensive pokemon. With random IV investment, a lot of pokemon may die to a hit, but witht he correct IVs they can take it just barely and strike back against that pokemon. On top of that, speed is super duper important in winning matchups. I've won at least 3 or 4 games due to having max speed + max speed evs + speed nature.
Finally, IVs aren't THAT difficult to train, just time consuming. Once you get a good breeding population (roughly 2-3 pokemon in most egg groups with 1-2 max IVs) it'll become much easier and faster.
I was greatly annoyed when I found out that you no longer could use items to bypass the Truant turn; Slaking was boss in-game in RSE...
What is a good place to train a deino or simi, before first E4(nuzlocke challenge)? Or the best area to go xp farming.

Alright, because I have a max sp.Atk IV male Slowpoke and a good natured female one, so that way I can influence at least some of the stats.
