oh noes! They changed something! Change is bad!
Changing from Survival Horror to Action Horror is a big uneccessary change.
Changing from Survival Horror to Action Horror is a big uneccessary change.
Agreed. Sure, you do change one word, but the difference between Survival and action is a VERY large gap. In a survival Dead Space game, you would try to conserve your ammo, trying to avoid dying since it can be easily succumbed. With action, it's the opposite, you strive to put a bullet in an enemies head, knowing your character is a badass and that, well, you rarely will die. With Deadspace and Deadspace 2, Now, it's more of a huge difference, in which the change is obviously visible, and although it is change, it can be Radical. A good change of this is a fictionary example of ME and ME2, In which instead of remaining real time, ME2 Would be Turn-Based, in which the gameplay would be changed alot and in which will make a turn out of a game largely different. In which with Dead Space 1, The game focused on conserving ammo and placing strategic shots more or less. With Dead Space 2, with the action varient involved, it will be different largely, Instead of placing key shots, It might be spray and pray, in which instead of a single-shot, We could be seeing more or less Assault rifles of the future, Probably a heavy weapon such in the future that electrifies the foes until they die.

Shut up. Never once did I feel the need to conserve ammo in Dead Space, and I beat the game. First of all, just shut up. You haven't played the fucking game yet, and you're already telling us how the game plays out. Great, are you fucking psychic or in possession of a time machine? Otherwise, shut the fuck up. Speculation is fine, this isn't speculation though, this is bullshit. Frankly, you, nor anyone else really has a fucking clue what's going to happen. Until you do, don't act like you do. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - TH89))
I think this is a good thing. We're going to find ourselves on the edge of our seats even more. What's the problem? EA may not be the best publisher but they're not the worst. Maybe they were or still are to some people but we do have new assholes on the block. I'm talking to you Bobby Kotick or whatever the fuck your name is.

That and virtually everything Westwood Studios has ever made. But that's the past. Judging a developer/publisher based on what it did in the past is ignorant and doesn't help anyone. It's one of the reasons why companies can get away with treating their customers like dirt and making tons of money off of making the same low-quality games over and over like EA used to, Except unlike EA they can get away with it.
Did anyone watch the Deadspace anime? It's quite good. Hand drawn and reminds me of those '90s animes. It isn't even weeabooish.
Meh, I don't mind. Isaac has been sent to the space station to solve the problem, right? So he's gonna be prepared and he's knows what'll be there. So why wouldn't he be more aggressive? [editline]12:52AM[/editline] Oh wait, FP, EA SUCKS!! rahhhh, dedicated servers raghhhhh!!! valve is god raghhh!!!
But i thought he wasn't sent there, i thought he was living on the space station when the shit hit the fan again, and Isaac was like "god fucking damnit".

And I do not know how it is, but he stated the focus is on Action Horror rather than Survival Horror. So bythat statement, I do no what is going on because the developer knows what is going on.
The first game was considered survival horror?! I must've done something wrong then because I played through the first run using only the default weapon and ended up selling a butt-ton of loot. If this means more baddies coming at you at once then I'm very happy about that as it never felt like you were being pushed to the edge in the first game.
Play a harder difficulty.
Play a harder difficulty.
Doesn't matter really. When you have the option of buying ammunition and medkits, the survival aspect is gone.
That and virtually everything Westwood Studios has ever made.
While it was owned by EA. Except Renegade. That was fairly well done concerning Multiplayer.
That's like adding run and gun sequences into Silent Hill...
Doesn't matter really. When you have the option of buying ammunition and medkits, the survival aspect is gone.
It's no different in Dead Space then picking them up. On Suicidal (I think that is the name) and Hard there are like 10 item drops and they're all really small and you don't get many credits.
Changing from Survival Horror to Action Horror is a big uneccessary change.
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 5. Same exact thing as RE4 yet hardly anyone likes it. Why? Cause it is The exact same game as RE4 with an AI team-mate. And RE4 was so well recieved cause it was one of the first games with the over the shaulder perspective, and QTEs. And the fact how different it was from Code Veronica.

are you a moron, trolling or clueless? EA has nothing to do with spore except for publishing it, maxis fucked it up
When I was reading the title I considered in my head, 'EA is at it again, this time soliciting sex to minors.'
The action in the first Dead Space was top notch and extremely polished. I'm excited what the sequel does.
Meh, I don't mind. Isaac has been sent to the space station to solve the problem, right? So he's gonna be prepared and he's knows what'll be there. The only advantage he has is that he has fought necromorphs before. That doesn't mean he knows what he is doing or how to resolve the issue.

Why is this? It's not because it was RE4 with a parter AI. It has all to do with the story, the levels, the characters, the replayability (due to the levels) etc. It just didn't match up to the experience that was re4

Seriously at least RE4 had some horror in it. RE5 was like "Lol throw enemies at you and fight, boss battle, enemies, boss battle"

Everyone else I talked to about it hates it. And if you go back to any RE4 review made in '04 they'll be praising the mechanics more than the game it's self.
More like it wasn't RE at all and it was all fucking action. Seriously at least RE4 had some horror in it. I'm still having scary dreams (not going as far to say nightmares) from the first Dead Space.
They better add new enemies if they expect to scare anyone. Running away unarmed from the necromorphs at the beginning scared the crap out of me
I'd form an opinion when I see the scenes mentioned but still, it doesn't sound bad.
I want Dead Space 2 to be more SURVIVAL Horror, not fucking ACTION horror. Not enough Survival Horror games out.
