EA is at it again, this time they have raped Dead Space 2!

Hey, whatever keeps them from shitting on another "Command and conquer"
I don't really see whats wrong with EA, except spore and the 3 install limit
They used to suck. And OP doesn't realize this is more of Visceral's decision than EA's
I and like 20 other people are the only people I know who enjoy it. Everyone else I talked to about it hates it.
And if you go back to any RE4 review made in '04 they'll be praising the mechanics more than the game it's self.
you know a lot of shitty people because it's pretty much established that RE4 was a fantastic game (96% metacritic) and RE5 was a 'pretty good' game (86%)
I thought RE5 could be pretty fun if you had a person to play with instead of the coop player AI.

Critical Acclaim =/= Player Opinion. If that were the case, Devil May Cry 2 would be amazing.
What the fuck is wrong with that? They're throwing in some nice sequences to impress you so you don't bitch and whine and say shit like hurrrr it's not as epic as modern warfare 2 and uncharted 2. They're doing you a favor if anything.
Um...I think any game is more epic than Modern Warfare 2, because i've seen quite a lot of people who don't like it, and neither do I, but I havn't played Uncharted, but i always hear my friends talking about how to find treasures...or something around that area.

Totally. C&C1 and 2 were the bomb, then EA comes in and nukes the quality.
This reminds me of how Capcom turn the Dino Crisis series from a Survival horror game into an Action Shooter game.
they're only talking about polishing and you're all exploding on about how EA raped it? they haven't even touched it... it's just polish and a better use of camera angles to convey deeper feel of horror and action... fuck off Facepunch...

uncharted 2 impressed with near realistic actors. filmic experience with action gaming. it's a great game mate. i was left in awe. they managed to make a mediocre plot feel fucking epic. and that's a golden achievement.
MW2 uses the usual action twist making you feel like you're playing a full night action movie rather than a game. it's still awesome to the max.
what i'm guessing is that, without having played Dead Space, they will be borrowing the level of awesome and polish those games had while still remaining true to Dead Space. this means that it WON'T be a MW2 clone. it'll still be DS 2. just more.

"I can tell you that we're a little more focused on action horror as opposed to survival horror. We just created a really beautiful sequence that we're showing internally -- we haven't showed it externally yet, but we will get it out there soon -- that I think speaks to the high voltage nature of the game," he said. "Some really strong action sequences that I think are on par with the level that we're seeing in the Modern Warfare series and with the level that we're seeing in Uncharted. Just beautiful, visual imagery and very electric action."
:bang:
In other words, no cut scenes
How dare they not make the same game again.
I'm all for taking dead space to new directions but i wish they would have left the horror aspect as it was. Now it sounds like thay are doing another resident evil 5 "horror like you have never seen before" my ass resident evil 5 has never seen horror in it's life IMO. Dont fix what is not broken. That said im still going to buy dead space 2 because im a big fan of the first and i still have hope left for the second part.

I agree for the most part but at the same time they said they were going to add multiplayer which I'm seriously hoping is coop. If it is coop then we need the slightly faster pace and more enemies.

I actually didn't think about that but now that I do, i agree. Altough in my opinion the multiplayer should have it's own gameplay style different from the single player, like you said, faster pace and more enemies.

I want a Survivors versus Necromorphs deathmatch mode. Who here doesn't want to bite into someone as a Twitcher or suck some heads as a Parasite?
Sounds like it's going to be less scary if it's more about the action than the survival. Does that mean we should expect more plentiful ammo and less ominous suspenseful sequences leading up to attacks? Is it just gonna be 'bang, bang, bang' all the time?
I'm fine with this as long as it doesn't become like the transition from the original Resident Evil games to 4 and more specifically 5. 4 was ok but I just didn't feel any atmosphere in 5 and it just felt like a co-op action game with zombies (or whatever the hell they're supposed to be)

Blame Maxis not EA.
Blame Maxis not EA.
To be fair, maxis works under EA.
