Eh there's no real point in quitting Runescape, just play it like every other game. A few times a year to play the new quests and then go off.
GW2 looks like a great fresh start though, and I think that's what most of us need at this point. EoC looks cool but it's not introducing any more real content into the game, which Jagex barely does anymore.

New quests are Members only, not gonna pay 7 euro again just to play 3-4 quests for 3 days

It went downhill around the time you could pay to get weapons and pay to get better stats on said weapons.
Eh most new quests will take a couple hours, it's not too bad for the price. We're just spoiled by the price of videogames on Steam, but compared to the price of a coffee or something it's not alot.
What keeps me going back to Runescape besides nostalgia is the fact that if you stop playing it for a long enough period, seeing how much things have changed since you left. I also love how casual the game is. No hard-ass guild neckbeards; you can just hop on whenever you want, do whatever you want, and then hop off. Everything in the game has its own pace, you can listen to a podcast or something and actually pay attention to it and also feel like you're doing something worthwhile in the game.
