Aah, I shut the page and the sound is still going.
You will still be able to be a pure at the combat update, but all it will mean is that you'll probably die to people the same combat level as you (that is to say, someone with a lot lower levels, but more defence).
That said I don't know what the health boost from armour is going to be like, maybe it won't be that much and apparently you unlock special abilities based on your combat levels, so someone with the combat abilities that you get from 99 attack and strength might be more useful than the combat abilities that you get from defence.

Why the fuck do you guys want RS 2006 back? Sure it was good and all but really you just have to deal with change. In my opinion I prefer Runescape now than 2006. Stop living in the past and deal with it.

I'll probably end up playing both anyway

lol why do you care if some people prefer an earlier version?
considering there is a remake of 2006 RS on the way, people won't have to 'deal with it'
And personally think that Jagex did the right decision when making most skills faster to train, because most player don't enjoy excessive amounts of grinding.
Agree. They kind of have to make skills faster or what else are they going to release? They would have to have a new skill every 3 months and loads and loads of quests in between if they wanted to keep new content coming in. And new training methods should be faster because if they are not, who's going to use them then?
My problem with RuneScape is that I don't actually like RuneScape.
I just don't know why I keep playing it.
Help me.
Zammork book is worth 20m now? I remember when it was 500k.
Pures will probably still be viable, just in a radically different way. Think how in prayer you go to the max level you need for turmoil and then don't get any more levels. Well it'll be like that except for every skill you'll go to the max level you need for the best ability and then stop.
Dunno how the new combat calculator will work though so who knows.

It just annoys me since everyone complains how today's version sucks and the 2006 one is superior. Thank god RS2006 is soon coming out, some nostalgia coming up our way!

Pages became rarer
It's stupid that people can't adjust to the change that Runescape has gone through.
I have adjusted, I quite like the new style of everything. People complain about the GE, and how it has ruined everything. I find the GE extremely useful, having made between 30 and 40 mil there.
I just want to go back and play the older one, can't really think of a reason why, I just do.

we don't like change.
I have adjusted, but i just cant stand the Squeal of Fortune
[editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
That is the only thing that i fucking hate

I won 50k from it. I suppose it's okay.
[editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
I only dislike the number of P2P items on it.

And the fact that you can buy spins.

That bothers me the most
Yeah, I remember Jagex saying so many times they wouldn't ever allow any form of pay to use or additional micro transactions. Hell I signed up for members for 2$ since it offered on a new account I'm starting and got 1 month + 10 spins for 2 bucks. Made like 300k and leveled my slayer up a few levels witht he lamps it gave me
and the account has just started. Jesus christ. I remember 300k being worth something
You can certainly say the game is easier now, any player no matter their skill level can make like 500k an hour. You also get starting armor and large amounts of cash from Tasks, and with whips and stuff being low priced people can suit up fast.
Also every now and then they casualize something, like how the Wizard's Circle outside of Varrock is not aggressive anymore.
Can't wait for the combat update. Will be the most worthy update ever.

I remember having to make large detours to avoid that circle, as I managed to die there a couple of times.
the Wizard's Circle outside of Varrock is not aggressive anymore.
i remember sprinting by that place while yelling at them to not kill me.
good times.
Combat update sounds like it'll make things more fun, but I'd probably still rather play GW2.
It's stupid that people can't adjust to the change that Runescape has gone through.
I can deal with runescape being different.
But i just want to play the older version for fun
Man SoF is fine with me. If they want micro transactions, whatever. You can buy your shit or do it how you want, I don't give a fuck what people choose.
Considering bots are dying out and the amount of cash they must have got from bots, if they need the extra cash then go for it. Sap it off the kids. Not my problem.
