They're different characters, in the most prominent way being Altair a philosophical introvert while Ezio is a pragmatic extrovert. Altair has few words and thinks of higher subjects, Ezio talks with anyone about anything and doesn't give a shit about much.
Apparently Connor is like Altair in being introverted, also following a "Freedom fighter" goal, we'll see how he goes.
I can instantly tell Connor is going to be more introverted, considering his Mohawk background. The bastard child of an Englishman and a Mohawk is just screaming introverted. Connor will probably be an Altair like reboot in the fact that he'll be more worried about his life now, as a young man and assassin, instead of Ezio, who grew into his knowledge and acceptance as his role to [sp]eventually carry the message to Desmond.[/sp]
As long as he is not Ezio or Altaïr V2.0 It's fine with me.
Would be even better if he uses both of those heritages to his advantage.
Oh those. I hated them. They were a good way to get backstory on characters but the whole premise of them wasn't any fun. Seriously when they said you'd be playing as Desmond in his own mind made from the Animus I was expecting something like this.

Instead we got that first person, creating blocks crap.
Christ, that looks bloody awesome, makes me wish I had Mirror's Edge, and with that DLC.
got the new issue of gameinformer.
this game looks fucking amazing, I can't wait.
Yeah, I was reading about Connor in my gameinformer too. I don't think he'll be a complete Altair reboot, but he'll be similar. I think they'll play off that kinda stereotype of Native American's being very wise and philosophical in their words and metaphors.

I just hope he's not annoying like Ezio.
I just hope he's not annoying like Ezio.
Ezio isn't even annoying.
Maybe part of the story will be him adjusting to colonial society, since it sounds like he spent most of his days with the Native American tribe.
instead of the usual rest in piece routine, he scalps his near dead target, jumps up, and yells "ME HAVE WHITE MAN SKIN, YOU WEAK LIKE CRYING BEAR"
eh, at least it would be funny racism
And they should also change his name to "Chief Connor Lou Diamond Phillips Ratohnhakéton"
I probably need to finish revelations.... w/e ive got a few months
Now don't get me wrong, I love the way this game looks... But I can't help but feeling I'll be at a disadvantage in enjoying AC3 since I've never really shared most people's feelings of hostility towards the British in the revolutionary war. It didn't really have a "good" and a "bad" side, and if it DID then the Americans WERE the terrorist separatist rebels. Now, I may not be objective since I come from a country that's burned down the White House twice, but still, I've never understood all of this "woot woot the revolutionary war was so majestic and purposeful woot woot" attitude.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever head. The way you feel towards either side will not effect weather you enjoy the game or not. And from what everyone has said, Connor will not be playing on a 'good' or 'bad' side. There was Templars on both sides of the war. Connor is an Assassin, so he will be fighting for and against both sides.
If anything, this should enhance how you feel about it, not leave you at a 'disadvantage'.

Because it was? Even if the British weren't that bad it was still the idea of having a representative republic over the old monarchies of Europe. Hell, the rights of colonists to self-govern rather than just be cash cows for other countries is in there too. It's no more anti-British than AC:B was against the Papacy, especially given they aren't trying to make the British the super bad guys, they never do that in an AC game.
Also I'm Australian rather than American but I guess the rebellious shit is still in us.
i dunno, i think it was the first time Brittan got its ass kicked by a part of its own empire. they severely needed that.
i still laugh at how the british got totally fucked by the americans. they marched up at first expecting one of those "chivalry" filled soldier column battles where both armies meet at a certain place, get ready, then take turns shooting at each other.
instead the americans jumped out of the bushes and shot their beans off
AAAAMMMMMUUUURRRRICCAAAA FUCK YEAH

but it really wasn't cool how America basically forced Benedict Arnold to betray the American army
I mean up until then he was a pretty cool guy, fighting off some French invaders n shit, then his wife died and he was all like "I don't care so long as I can still be in the army", so he performed loads of strategic assaults and held points off from the enemy despite getting riddled with loads of bullet holes at some point. But the army refused to acknowledge the things he did, turned over promotions to young kids who would get people killed, and he was investigated by Congress countless times on baseless accusations of corruption.
Then at some point he basically just said to himself "man, America fucking hates me" and betrayed them all.
we all do fucked up shit, but the brits owning everything had to stop one day or another.
I have updated the front page. :)
Can't wait to hear how they put of the voices of the Readcoats in this game :v:
oh riiiiight.... we get to slaughter imperial british people.
my god if they had posh accents it would be a laugh riot.

I was actually thinking about that too, lmao. I know Ezio did the reqiescat in pace thingy, but I don't remember what Altair said (if anything) when he assassinated his targets.
i think all big A did was close their eyes and dip a feather in their blood
well after a short chat

"Short"
honestly i liked altair's more stoic modus operandi. ezio, while being incredibly lovable, was a very flamboyant assassin... didn't sit as well with me than altair's way of going about things

I would throw hundred dollar bills at a game that included this.

Say the same thing that Ezio said, only in Arabic.
i don't remember him saying anything.
but it has been a while.
He never said anything, he only talked to them till they passed out, then feathered the bloody neck and went on.
well i got it right here, for the 360 and ps3.
but we got youtube.
This is making me finally play brotherhood and revelations.
just read about this in GI
I really need to finish Brotherhood
