Will totally go predator mode when hunting patrols and lure enemies away from the group and bring them farther down the trail and hang them from the trees like that.
It'll be just like Crysis.
Oh God I cannot wait for this game.
Also in AC2 it shows Washington as a Templar so we can lay that whole "'murica is best" thing to rest.
It shows him with a Piece of Eden, not as a Templar.
FINALLY, A PROPER STEALTH SYSTEM, MY DREAMS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED, THANKYOU BASED UBISOFT
Did I see Connor getting arrested...and taken into the docks? Or was that a part of the story. If it wasn't, that would be awesome being able to be taken into custody for your 'inappropriate' actions. And those detailed ships...all climbable...
Also, that combat did look a little choppy (heh), but so did a couple of the movements after combat when he ran through the marketplace like thing. So I would probably blame that on some lag or recording issue.

He called allies and pretended to get arrested.
That trailer was amazing, and was it just me or was it implying at the end with the American General was a Templar too?
That was Washington.

Genius!
Although it would get old fast I guess :v:
They should make a PotC game with similar boat mechanics, because that looks like so much fun. With customizable boats and multiplayer.
Make it happen.
Again, is the naval combat only one mission or can you free roam in ships?
Again, is the naval combat only one mission or can you free roam in ships?
There is no confirmation, but the guy commentating said it was Connor's ship, so I'm guessing you might be able to free roam. No guarantee though. If it isn't free roam, I doubt it would be only one mission.
It is bothering me how they emphasized on you fighting both american and british templars, but in the videos you're just slaughtering red coats. The assassins are supposed to be fighting the templars, not picking sides based on which form of government is most correct. After all the assassins are obviously fine with monarchy or any other form of a single leader in power as long as they are not a templar or using a piece of eden, Ezio worked with the vicious Medici family and was also an advisor to the Pope, whose word at that time was law. Altair was fine with Al Mualim and Lionheart and the other rulers of the time. The assassins are supposed to be a neutral entity that in secret eliminate the templar threat of taking away freedom via the pieces of eden, after all even under a normal monarchy you have the freedom to choose. So why all the red coat slaughter, hell I am an American and even I didnt see him fighting any kind of non redcoat/american militia/french (dont forget they were there too).
I was just about to say the same thing. From all the gameplay I've seen so far its anti-British, and I kind of thought it would be when I heard that it took place in the American Revolution.
Propaganda away!

Hm, quick comment.
Graphics look great, some effect even looked similar to Watch Dogs. The fighting seemed strange in a unexplainable way. Maybe it just didn't flow as in the previous games, but I think that was because most of the enemies in this had guns with bayonets. Not exactly a good melee weapon.

I think the animations just aren't totally done yet.

In an earlier trailer conner states very clearly that he will fight the enemy regardless of their allegiance. More than that, one brief shot shows him standing next to a British general in what appears to be a conversation, so I don't think there's much to worry about.
I'd say the main goon enemy in the game will be redcoats, and on rare occasion american rebels, but I'd hope there's an even amount of assassination targets on both sides, and some on neither side.
I haven't bothered with Revelations or Brotherhood. Do any of you sincerely think I'll be missing out on anything -- with respect to gameplay or story -- if I just skip over them entirely and play AC3? I've heard that both are pretty underwhelming games in of themselves, but I don't want to miss any crucial story elements if possible.
I wouldn't call them underwhelming at all, but that's probably because I really love the series and honestly believe that they are improved significantly with each installment. Brotherhood is a lot of fun but not much is accomplished story-wise, still worth playing if you can get it cheap (which it probably will be in the upcoming steam sale). Revelations is a really good game and I feel the setting is polished and changed enough to make it feel refreshing even though the core gameplay is more or less the same. There are some relatively major plot points in it and the latter half is very conclusive, I can recommend it.

i'd say atleast play Revelations

If you enjoyed ACII, you'll enjoy Brotherhood, and so on.
In that case, I'll pick them up during the Steam summer sale. Thanks guys.

That seems likely, or it could be somewhat similar to how the first assassin's creed worked where you ended up killing many more Saracens by virtue of the fact that they controlled two cities to the crusaders' one, and considering the British had pretty tight control of American urban centers during the war..
I believe at E3 someone said that the redcoat killing would be featured in the trailers/demos because they were featuring the demo in the snow...and red on white looks alot better then everything else. I might be wrong, I could have dreamed that up somehow.
Also, from the Wii gameplay, Connor seems to have more of a predator feel to him. I know this was mentioned earlier, i think it was in an Ubisoft interview. Anyway, even when climbing throughout the town, Connor has a very different way of getting about compared to Ezio/Altair, especially his posture when climbing. We have seen enough of Desmond in the previous games to know that he climbs with the same style to Ezio and Altair, but with this new game, do you think Desmond will pick up Connor's?
If we are to have the same skills as Connor when we play as Desmond, Desmond will need to pick up these new skills from Connor, but will he retain everything from Altair and Ezio? (eg. the way he walks/climbs)

Oh..you've been captured...AGAIN?

Interesting.
Not sure if late.
Most of the media about ACIII may feature Connor killing redcoats due to marketing purposes
Perhaps there will be a huge twist in the storyline, for instance you start to fight for the americans. But once you killed a certain important templar on the side of the redcoats, one of the templars which is on the rebels side is betraying you changing the whole dynamic.
Perhaps something like that, would definitly cool. Also I don't have anything against killing redcoats, I do not see the issue.

I bet Washington was thinking, "I could probably do that, if I wanted to."
Its mostly likely marketing. The biggest event during Connors lifetime is the American Revolution. As a (part?) native American, The British might look to him as his major enemy. So I would say the focus on killing redcoats is because their previews are set during the Revolutionary War.
A lot of natives fought for the British, historically speaking.
