Hopefully, Steam will have another summer sale. If that happens, I'll most likely buy one of the games between AC1 and AC3. I don't have money to buy all 3 (only if there is some extreme discount) so which do you think is the best one?

Make sure that if you get part 2, that you atleast get Revelations aswell.
Perhaps there will be a huge twist in the storyline, for instance you start to fight for the americans. But once you killed a certain important templar on the side of the redcoats, one of the templars which is on the rebels side is betraying you changing the whole dynamic.
Perhaps something like that, would definitly cool. Also I don't have anything against killing redcoats, I do not see the issue.
Charles Lee, an American general during the Revolutionary War, is appearing in the the game. There is a screenshot of him holding a young Connor by the neck against a tree. He looks like he's being made as one of the main antagonists and possibly responsible for the death of Connor's people. Given Connor's mission to seek justice, he's probably going after Lee at some point in the game. To do that, he's most likely going to have to get through some American Rebels first.
A lot of natives fought for the British, historically speaking.
If I recall correctly, the different native tribes fought on just about all sides- including the British, American, Spanish and French armies of the time- for different reasons. Some joined them through coin, some believed in the party's cause, some came to agreements, et cetera.
I never knew about the actual plot, thanks for clearing that up.

Holy shit, I just found out a club system is in the game.

Delayed on PC till 23rd November, though it would be silly if you didn't expect this.

I'd rather wait for the PC version. Graphics and framerate be much better, especially owning a 120hz monitor and the collectors edition is £20 cheaper than PS3.
This is coming from a guy who will probably buy a PS3 come the end of the year so i'm not a PC elitist, just a realist.
I don't think that we'll be playing as Desmond. Mainly because of the vast racial differences in the characters.
Even though we've played as Desmond in every major AC game and the main storyline is about Desmond.

you are painfully clueless why did you even post

A person's lineage is far more diverse the further up the genetic ladder we go.

Yeah, because it was really similar to Desmond's American race when he played a Syrian and an Italian. No way will he be able to play as a Native American.
This release date push back is yet to be confirmed. There is still hope...
...that the next delay will only push it back until January 2013.
Slight bump but this is cool as shit:
Might buy one, but it looks like it opens with a button, which is lame
Also looks like a good way to lose a finger.

Because it totally uses a real blade and totally has enough force to slice through your finger.

Develop longer fingers
All these different versions are seriously annoying. Anyone who wants all the content has to buy:
1. Special edition - Packaging, A Dangerous Secret DLC
2. Join or Die Edition - Packaging, medallion
3. Freedom Edition - Packaging/steelbook, notebook, statue, lithograph
4. UbiWorkshop Edition - Subject 4, encyclopedia
5. NA limited edition - packaging, colonial flag, belt buckle.
6. Digital Deluxe Edition - Captain of the Aquila's uniform, traditional Colonial Assassin, Scottish flintlock, boarding axe
Then there's the retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses. It's pathetic.

IIRC revelations had like six different preorder bonuses as well. Frankly I can never see the point in paying for one (so I'm paying an extra £15 for a plastic statue and some DLC? No thanks.), let alone all the different versions but I should imagine there's some incredibly die-hard fans out there that want it all.
New live action trailer:

They seem to be forgetting the whole Templar are the enemy thing... Why all the British hate :(
Bleh, I really hope Connor sticks true to his words and fights Templars on both sides. These trailers make it look like the British were Nazis.
Um, the antagonist of the American Revolution WAS the British Empire...why is it at all surprising that you'll be killing more redcoats?
Why do people give a shit?
It's obviously not just a story about the Assassin's but also the story of the birth of a new nation under completely "radical" ideals of the time. It's during this time period that there began a new method of thinking and understanding among a citizen's/nation's rights. Political and social understandings changed dramatically, so much so that eventually America became that beacon through history as the "land of opportunity".
It also inspired the French Revolution.
So the point is, it's important that you capture the impact of this revolution from the perspective of the ones that actually started it. The American Revolution isn't just the backdrop for the game because the ideas probably encompass a lot of similar ideals of the Assassin's fraternity as well. Plus, it makes good drama when someone we consider "good" goes "bad", if you know what I mean.
Oh and to the Colonists, the British were practically Nazis. They're mindset was the same imperialistic bullshit from hundred of years of conquest around the world; Exploit resources for the sake of the British Empire, regardless of anyone else. They practically ruled the world, after all.
The brits tried to make the colonists less money.
Not by directly raising taxes, but by cracking down on smuggling ( some of the founding fathers smuggled goods to other nations) and gave the colonists the only option of selling their shit to england for shitty prices.
England just wanted to exploit us, and we didn't like that.
Britain was pretty nice to you guys considering. They just spent a fortune defending you from the French and Indians and thus made you pay some taxes. Taxes which were 1/20th of what homeland Brits were paying.
Then there's the whole Boston Massacre situation...
Britain was not Nazi Germany and in reality the Revolution was not about morals or even ideology. Britain messed up by thinking that the Colonies didn't deserve representation in Parliament and thus the Americans revolted. The taxes weren't the problem, it was the fact that they weren't given any say in making them.
I think it's going to be hard to make a game set during the war of independence, has you play as an american (or at least cooperate with the americans) and not have the British as the antagonists. Provided you're fighting Templars on both sides, which is likely, and that they handle the war the same way they handled the Crusades in AC1 I'll probably be happy with how they do things. So far the AC games have handled historical events like that reasonably well without devolving into propaganda.
I couldn't care less about Connor killing redcoats. Nobody cared when Ezio killed Italians.
The problem is that even though the British Empire did bad things, to make them a generic evil enemy to the Assassins is awfully boring and inaccurate, akin to the infamous church burning scene in The Patriot. The war wasn't a black and white good-verses-evil thing, but the trailers are definitely giving off that vibe.
I'm pretty sure the developers know that though.
