I'll rather sound dumb here. But I pre-ordered AC3 on the PS3 store, and it appeared as 0.00 euros. Does that mean that it'll be free or a box will pop-up to pay for the game and download it or something?
Release date for PC has been officially pushed back according to a Ubisoft employee. No date yet, but at the moment it is "Before christmas, but after the XBox/PS3 release date".
I am fucking angry.
inb4 internet petition.
a petition for a buggy version that'll require several patches to be playable?
a petition for a buggy version that'll require several patches to be playable?
Um, the only reason it is being delayed is to try to get the most out of the console sales. This is because they want to prevent game piracy or some shit, nothing to do with bugs.
I'd be all over this if it wasn't the revolutionary war. I just wish it was something more interesting and something that was new, and maybe obscure. Not something that everyone knows everything about, there's not a lot of mysteries or intrigue in the revolutionary war.

Maybe from a normal person's point of view, but we are talking about Assassin's here. They make everything way more interesting, as well as tell their side of the story, which is way more interesting.
Back when ACII was released there was the idea of putting the next game in the World War I. I really liked the idea.
I can't decide, assassins creed 3 freedom edition or borderlands loot chest edition.
both look cool.
Assassin's Creed personally. I never played Borderlands, but apparently it is good so I might go grab it now that it's cheap.
I've always wanted Assassins Creed in Roman times.
to be historically accurate it would probably be rated AO
to be historically accurate it would probably be rated AO
Why ?
wait i'm thinking about the greeks.
maybe like at the tail end of ceaser's rule it would be cool.
Is Benjamin Franklin in this? Not too big on this part of history so i'll be learning something as I play.
Franklin was a big believer in extraterrestrials and thought it was a huge part of the scientific view of the world, so it could play a part.
I'm pretty sure Franklin is a character. I think he's taking the place of everyone's favorite scientists/artist Leonardo.

Quite sure they specifically said that that's not happening.
Quite sure they specifically said that that's not happening.
Yeah, they've explicitly said just because it was like that in AC2 doesn't mean it'll be the same in AC3.
Like, just because it was in another game does not mean it'll be in this.
yes, they also said that there will be "shades of grey" between the American and English side but it appears it's almost all AMERICAAAAAA FUCK YEAH.
I'm just saying that Franklin is more than likely going to be a Leonardo.

I'm pretty sure when they said that they were referring to leaders of Templar infiltrators, not specifically the entire American side.
If you thought AC3 was going to be about killing just as many Continentals as red coats then you are really naive.
You guys gotta take marketing into mind. Like, us americans think were so great and invincible. Can't show us dying.
^pretty much.
we're the most emboldened country in the world, we love the size of our giant inflatable cock and anything that goes against it can be seen as blasphemy on a subconscious level.
if you show a main character killing american soldiers who are fighting the good fight then you're really gonna stick a needle in our giant inflatable prick.
I recently got the Assassins Creed collection on Steam during the sale, so I'm replaying them all in a row.
I remember why I hated the first one so much. Gah, so boring.
Especially since I'm trying to 100% it, that includes all the flags.
mfw I was missing TWO FUCKING FLAGS in Kingdom, and basically went through every flag over again, in order. I found them, though
But the flag collecting also slows me down. I'm only just completed my 4th assassination.
Can't wait until I start Assassins Creed 2. Then I'll REALLY start enjoying the series, again.

no, I never thought they were going to have Continentals being killed at an equal rate, I'm just saying that's what we were told.
why does anyone care anymore? i mean, shit, george washington is confirmed to be a templar, and regardless, you're going to be slaughtering thousands of innocent guards anyways
This always bugged me about AC2 and it's sequels. In AC1 (arguably AC3) you could make the argument that most of the people you were killing were soldiers, and that a lot of them were pretty corrupt and you were basically fighting an occupation. But AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations is totally different. A lot, the vast majority really, of the people you kill are the Renaissance equivalent of police. They are dudes with families working a shift stopping thieves and beggars and shit. They don't really have a stake in the governmental affairs of the different cities/states they are representing.
Don't forget how throughout the game, you gain a reputation as an almost demon like figure and they are going after you to protect their city from this wildly skilled killer(s)
[editline]26th July 2012[/editline]
I mean. Holy shit. You can get into anywhere and liberate entire square miles of cities by yourself. Don't forget how he also has a vast economic empire that arguably stretches across the entire mediteranean depending on how much you did the follower metagame. and lets also remember how he's ahead of the rest of the people by arguably hundreds of years. Flying machines, flintlock sidearm when most had firelocks, alien technology.

Don't forget, in Brotherhood, the Borgia pretty much own and control Rome entirely, so those guards are pretty much their men.
Oh. and he rebuilt the empire multiple times.

If you plan to get a 100 percent, you have to establish a monopoly in all forms of trade and life. A practice that the templars use to keep control.
Yeah, I guess the Templars owning everything is somehow bad even though peace and prosperity are both plentiful.
So the Assassins have to come in, buy up every merchant and landmark, establish sleeper cells around the city, and engage in street-by-street guerrilla warfare to depose their political opponents.
[sp]What if it turns out in AC3 that the Assassins are really bad guys[/sp]
In AC4, You play as Mitt Romney, the head of Bain Capital and buy up all the companies and the final boss is Obongo.

And revelations technically had that with the altair flashbacks, though it was because of the apple. It's all because of the damn apple.
Turns out that there was some confusion during the Assassin's Creed 3's San Diego Comic-Con panel earlier this week. Reached for comment today, a Ubisoft spokesman told us the PC version of the game is still slated for an Oct. 30th release. Reports contrary to that date, including our story linking out to Joystiq, were incorrect, he said.
