[QUOTE=TheWhiteFox1;38296750]God damn that [sp]plot twist at the end of Sequence 3[/sp] got me good.[/QUOTE]
[sp]The one where you find out Haytham is a Templar all along?[/sp]
I was literally like this:

[QUOTE=mobrockers2;38296704]Anyone done the 'find and kill bear in cave' hunter mission? I'm in the cave and don't know how to lure the bear out :([/QUOTE]
I spent all day getting all the collectibles and doing sidequest, so I know this one.
[sp]When you enter the cave there will be a body. Pick it up and bring it deeper into the cave. Drop it next to the redcoats corpse (it was a redcoat for me, it might be different for you) and the bear should appear.[/sp]
I'm kinda pissed off though, there's 1 optional objective I can't complete. [sp] I have to listen to all of Washingtons conversations but I beat the main story and everytime I talk to him we play that stupid game with the balls[/sp]
[QUOTE=WubWubWompWomp;38295359]I'm kind of disappointed at the lack of jumping puzzles, like they had in 2, Brotherhood and Revelations. Also, is it just me, or does Conor seem a lot... larger than Ezio or Altair?[/QUOTE]
could be the fact that the average height of a human being grows century by century
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
oh yeah, this game is fucking buggy as shit.
weird framerate rapes for no reason, popups like a motherfucker, other graphical glitches, animals getting stuck in shit.
just a giant list of bugs. but you really don't seem to notice them because the game is so fucking fun.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
oh yeah and someone tell me exactly how connor being pure native would even be possible?

I'm not getting what you're asking here.
I just completed the game, quite a great game but it has some issues. Related to the story and gameplay.
[sp]I do not know what to think about the ending, AC had always shit endings but this one is totally weird. Also the death of Desmond is so dumbly presented, you play like 4 AC games to get to that point, really?[/sp]
[sp]Also the story has some severe inconsistencies and logical errors, like when you murder your own dead. When does Charles appear, is that later or at that moment? When did he do the stuff with his war painting? Why does Charles run into a burning boat, which surpringly stops burning after you both are hurt. Besides nobody seems to give a shit about people being trapped in a burning ship. There was also to much fast-forward for my taste, it felt like loosely connected events. There are many more such things, but I am to tired right now[/sp]
Does anyone know where all the frontier trading posts are at? I believe I found 2 of them but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. Are they just those camps with a few people sitting around the campfire? If so I found 2 and need (from what I heard) 3 in total.
Wow nevermind. The trading posts are general stores literally called trading post.
Could still use some help if anyone has already done it. I've found 2 stores so far.
this game has one of the most beautifull enviroment I've ever seen, Currently in sequence 6 and i'm just walking around boston, exploring and hunting collectibiles

[sp]I've only ever seen the redcoats corpse, but i'll go back and see if the other corpse reappears then[/sp]
Also I don't really think collect missions have to be spoiler tagged since they have nothing to do with the story.

someone a few pages back stated that they were glad that connor wasn't fullblood native. as that's completely impossible given the fact that the natives migrated to america during the ice age 5-10 thousand years ago, and all of connor's assassin relatives come from europe and couldn't possibly have been apart of that migration that took place so long ago that put the natives in the americas
I didnt really care for the plot 3 twist, i had a feeling something wasnt right
i thought it was great however predictable it may have been.
the thing that's really burning a hole in my skull is how exactly did these things come to be. [sp]how exactly is a direct ancestor of the greatest assassins of all time, who happened to be the biggest key players in this giant game that's going on between assassins and templars, turn out to be a templar?[/sp]
also i love how the secondary wrist blade is actually a real hidden blade that pops out of the gauntlet that connor holds. that's just badass.
currently i've gotten 3 recruits and now i'm just idling as i level them up through missions. kinda sucks though cause at the end i won't have a proper total hours playtime because lots of it is spent idling, leveling up assassins
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
also i don't know if it's the model change or something but i'm starting to like desmond a lot more. especially considering connor is probably the ancestor he can relate to the most.
I have a really huge complaint that I need to adress, Assassins Creed has always been a very cinematic and story driven game. It had style and cool cutscences, personally I love them. But this game feels like a movie at times. There are to many cutscences and they are quite long, I really enjoy the gameplay, but I feel heavily restricted many times during the missions. As soon as the mission starts to kick off, there is some cutscene that tears me right out while being pumped. The different parts of the missions feel incredibly short and are always followed by lenghty cutscences. Also I despise how the game restricts you to a certain speed, you cannot run or walk how you want it. This heavily bugs me, I liked the story a lot but all the restrications that are set upon the player makes it less enjoyable because you always play for a few minutes and get interrupted in the action. Besides some cutscences could have been changed into actual gameplay where the player controls the situation.
holding circle or B (i think that's it for xbox) will skip cutscenes.
most cutscenes you won't miss much plus i've never had a problem with this. in fact i welcome them.
if there's a cutscene at the end of a mission it means i'll probably get teleported somewhere instead of having to get there myself.
Yeah, I do not mind the cutscences themselves, I like the dialogue a lot. But the the actual time where you play during missions is not that long, which is not exactly what a storydriven game should be. In freeroam though, the game really unfolds itself. You have a lot more freedom.
actually ever since i reached around the 15 percent mark of getting through the game, basically a little bit after connor puts on the robes, it's been stuck at 17 and i'll i've been doing is fucking around and doing secondary missions and shit.
it really has been quite a long time since i actually made any main story progress. probably because it's so fun to hang enemies from high places like predator.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
a cool gameplay mechanic would be something like scalping an enemy or something then hanging him up on display. that would in turn lower morale of any enemy you're fighting and have a greater chance of them running away.
For anyone who completed the game, I have a question.
[sp]After the credits, there seems to be more and there is a voice mentioning pivots and such. How does it work, what I supposed to collect?[/sp]

that's just a tad bit too cruel to be allowed I think.

obviously. but if you really think about it it would be pretty fucking cool still.
[QUOTE=mobrockers2;38302587]that's just a tad bit too cruel to be allowed I think.[/QUOTE]
Would have been amazing though. Hell in the first game you downright murder innocents even though they gave you important information, just because they at some point were useful to your enemies.
It's a bit sad that pretty much all of the games after the first one have tried so hard to make the assassins look like the purest form of good guys ever. Seriously, is there anything Ezio does wrong through his three games long career ? He kinda screws up at the beginning of assassin's creed 2 before he learns how to be a good assassin, but that's it. Your job is never portrayed as potentially immoral, bad or even remotely questionable.
For a series that is about murdering people for the greater cause, such a Manichean approach is really a missed opportunity.
i think that the assassins being less of a bunch of dicks throughout the years is for two reasons
it separates them from the templars, who's creed is basically to be the biggest dick you can be.
and also being extremely clandestine is how the brotherhood has survived. if the brotherhood started using shock and awe tactics... well it's like a silent assassin using a rocket launcher. it's wrong in many different kinds of ways.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
also your job is constantly questioned, at least throughout AC3.
connor muses upon it a few times, desmond even says to his father they're becoming to be no better than the templars
the line is getting really blurry. and it's making things interesting. especially considering most people [sp]assumed connor's dad was an assassin[/sp]
I think i am feeling a bit sorry for desmond. the animus is fucking killing him but its his only hope of training enough to stop the fuckin world from ending. and he's the only one.
i'm also starting to put juno more into a trickster category like the outsider from dishonored than like a guardian. for all we know the ancients are in contact with the templars as well and this is could just be some fucked up game to them.

you're playing the game through the eyes of the assassins, of course it's going to make the assassins look like the good guys

Clever writing could show you the darker side of the assassins without shoving it in your face. The first game had these lengthy scenes of Altair debating with the assassin chief, they were way too long and unskippable but it was a step in the right direction.
The rest of the games I've played felt way too Manichean and the writers never tried to put the legitimacy of the assassins in question. Mixing it up with all that 21/12/2012 end of the world bullshit just sank the plot entirely to me.
especially considering the game desmond stars in will probably be released after 12/12/12.
but as i said before there are points in at least 3 where shit isn't all morally black and white.
the most subtle but powerful one being who [sp]connor's dad really is because most people didn't question it and probably thought he was apart of the brotherood despite him acting much more shady than an assassin[/sp]
i just got all the fast travel points in boston in like 15 minutes. fuckin awesome.
Im on sequence 5 now, can i not buy shops and banks to make money? havent seen any icons on the map and pickpocketing is so slow
best way to make money is hunting and sending your peeps on contracts.
though i'm sequence 6 or 7 and just got recruits so...
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
also at the general store you can send out trading convoys. i'm not sure how they work though.
just to be clear i'm pretty sure you can't buy property.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
hunting is probably the best way though because you don't just have to idle to get money. plus hunting can be pretty fun.
You can buy goods via the account books, you can trade them by using the convoys. The convoys will deliver the goods to certain stores. You can also craft items from these goods, they can also be sold for a higher price.
Also you are not able to buy any property.
Do you have to complete the Encyclopedia of the Common Man to get Achille's Outfit, or just the other Homestead Missions?
I'm loving the controls. There's a bit of a learning curve to start, if you were used to the previous ACs, but, all-in-all, I think it's better.
I am rather fond of Desmond's face this time around. With Revelations I saw no familiarity in his face compared to AC1 and AC2, he looked completely different IMO. Now he looks more like he did before but with more defined, high-quality features.
it's most likely the animus making him more gaunt and sickly looking. that's how i interpreted it.
in the beginning dessy was a normal sized man-child. now he's incredibly skinny and gaunt, so much so his face has become sunken and bony.
How good is this in comparison to Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood? I loved Brotherhood and I really got into that game. Does it actually introduce many new elements to the game or just a few additional features like revolutions?
