if you read up on desmond's profile you learn that he has the genes of several other prominent assassins in him as well, not just altair, ezio, and connor.
but it still stands desmond is a direct descendent of all of them.
That's what I loved about the Ezio arc. We watched him go from immature and brash, to serious and wise.
I really enjoyed Ezio's story, but to be fair, he did have 3 games to develop as a character. If Connor gets another game or two he would probably become more likable.
but it still stands desmond is a direct descendent of all of them.
And? That's the whole point of why he's ~special~. Without his connections to these important assassins he'd just be some regular jerk. And if push come to shove I'm sure Q could take over in the animus.
This is usually what happens after I play one of the board games.

Sorry for the bad pictures, it's hard to get a good picture when I'm still in combat.

Man you must be good those board games. The only one I've beaten was checkers.

Nope, I'm awful at them. Every time I play I get pissed and go on a massacre. I've played games maybe a dozen times and only won once. I hate the board games in this.
Wow, what a dick move of Connor.
[sp] Threatening to beat up his mentor [/sp]
The ending sort of bugged me [sp]That or I'm just sick of games going down the "I have to sacrifice myself" endings, it's becoming really cliché now[/sp]
Other than that, the game itself was fantastic.
[sp]The ending honestly pissed me off. In my opinion, the previous games were better. AC2 and Brotherhood are still my favorites. AC3 was better in combat and all things like that, but the story I felt was much weaker. The ending was just so weak. They should have gone with Minerva's outcome, really. Plus, how can they predict the future? That far into the future I mean. Couldn't Desmond alter the course of history? Or even Desmond's ancestors? They could ensure Desmond does not become a God. I dunno, I guess I'm just blowing off steam from it.
I'm not so much as angry with the game, but more let down with it, all in all.[/sp]
In the meanwhile, Connor had a pretty decent ending. [SP] Both he and Lee, wounded and tired from the years of hunting each other sit down at a tavern. In the end, they both knew what would happen [/sp]
Can someone share the secret to killing easily. In all the other games I've countered enemies and such, but in this one it doesn't work for those goddamn grenadiers who only die to immense spam of square, and combined with the enemies who every second jab me with their rifles it makes it goddamn impossible. Am I doing something wrong? Also I don't seem to counter great all the time, half of the time I counter the normal enemies I just throw them out the way. What am I dooooing.
Press X to "throw them off balance / break their block". Do it twice in a row and you can bring down the giant axe men with like three hits.
Can't do shit about Jaegers though.
I noticed that Officers with swords are easy to disarm, thus making it easy to kill them. The Grenadiers with axes are a bit tricky, usually they make an axe swing which allows you to kill them from behind. At times disarming works though. Jaegers are also a bit tricky, sometimes you kann kill them with a counter and disarm them. Regulars die pretty fast.

You mean B, and then X on normal enemy's to counter, and A and then X on giant axe men and officers to take their weapons from them.

Disarming always works for me with grenadiers.

He probably said X cause of PS3.

Oh right..
Wait, you use the same button for attacking and countering on ps3?

Countering on PS3 is Circle, attacking is Square, X to break their balance.

I was confused because he said do it twice in a row as if X was also the attack button. Sorry.

Twice in a row causes them to be offguard, then takes them to the floor so you can do an insta kill.
How do i recruit more assassins? Ive been doing liberation missions but im confused
Well, it is quite confusing. Usually you should just do the liberation missions where you help the people or kill some enemies. After doing them, there should be a contact somewhere which you can visit. He talks about liberation and how it all sucks. Then you can do more liberation missions and return to him. Then you will recieve a mission with a cutscence where you kill a templar leader. After doing that mission. The contact should be yours to command.
But at times I do not find any liberation missions, nor are the contacts willing to join me.

I believe there are only three to be recruited in boston, but their icons stay on the map, very confusing. The other three can probably be recruited in new york.
Guys the trick to killing officers, grenadiers, and jaegers is to drag them to the ground with the rope dart. They can't avoid it and when they're on the ground hitting them is a one hit kill.
I am really surprised how in-depth the hunting is in this game. I love wasting like an hour out in the wilderness killing animals, going into Boston and selling the spoils.

you don't.
basically there are "district contacts". once you liberate a district that district contact will become apart of your team
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
also regarding attacking enemies who are impossible to kill besides mashing square, that's what the pistol is for..

The pistol wont kill officers, grenadiers or jaegers in oneshot.
i could have sworn it worked on them. i probably put some damage on them before i shot them.
also does anyone else think the rope dart is INSANELY over powered? you can kill people quietly from a perch without even having to leave the perch. in fact there's never really any reason to buy rope darts or try to loot some because the only way you use up a rope dart is if you hang someone. but that's almost completely ascetic because choking them doesn't use up a dart and it only takes a few more seconds to kill the person.
Ropedarts are the best. I don't care if they're overpowered as fuck.
Completely silent, can easily hide bodies, can't be dodged, can't be blocked, knock down enemies in combat.
The only times I don't have it equipped are when I'n hunting (bow) or on horseback (pistols).
