Is there any way t fight Officers/Jaegers/Grenadiers/The Hessian Officers in melee at all?
I find myself always just using the rope dart since when trying to stumble or counter them just gets you a punch in the face.
Also I just found out you can counter kill with any of your secondary weapons. Including the snare.

How do you counter kill with secondary weapons?
And for most of them, I tend to block their attack, disarm then just wail on them till they're dead.

If you disarm/guard break them they become vulnerable, do it twice and they become pushovers.
I just ropedart, it's the fastest way.
You counter with B, then press Y instead of X.
If you counter with B and press B again, you dodge their attack and they stumble.
If you counter with B and press A, you disarm
If you counter with B and press X, you kill
If you counter with B and press Y, you kill with the secondary weapon. Every single secondary has kill animations except for bait, horse whistle, and throw money.

B and B (or circle and circle if you're on the PS3) is a throw. You can sometimes knock other enemies down with throws.
If the triangle is red you counter, from a counter you can throw, disarm, or attack the enemy. If the triangle is yellow you can dodge, if it's a firing line or pistol user you need to grab a human shield.
The broblem I have with the combat is it's a lot like Batman or Sleeping Dogs, but every game uses their own configuation of block/dodge/counter/attack buttons.
Just beat it... I honestly don't know what the fuck is happening and I've played and beaten all of the AC games, minus Revelations.
Someone help me with this magic lantern
[sp]ALL MASONS SHALL WORK HONESTLY UNDER THE SUN
MASONS RECEIVING THEIR LAWFUL AND JUST WAGES RIGHTLY
FOR NO MAN CAN BE LEFT TO FINISH ANOTHER'S WORK
NOR SHOULD THEY TEACH LABOURERS AND UNACCEPTED MASONS AS THEY SHOULD SEE OVER AND TEACH A BROTHER OR FELLOW MASON[/sp]
I have [sp]top: sun left: male symbol right: scales of justice bottom: masonic symbol[/sp]
And I've tried many other combinations but to no avail. Shit might be bugged or I just suck I don't know
So I just finished the game and really? That was the ending?
[sp] Connor had an awesome ending but Desmond's ending sucked. I mean just because people don't like him doesn't mean you should just kill him off.[/sp]
Such a shame that running around the city's collecting trinkets doesn't unlock more valubale things. Like a better frame rate.
better FPS will be DLC
Does anybody know how to liberate Boston's North District?
I've done the liberation missions but its still at 71%
this game just prominently displays how old these consoles are. i can't wait to see what one of these games will look like on next gen

The FPS DLC will be released on November 20, costing 60 bucks.
It's going to be called "Assassin's Creed 3: The PC Version".

wait for the red triangle, counter, disarm and you can easily kill them.

I do not like where this conversation is shifting to.
I have been playing for about 3 days and I have never had huge fps drops (on the PS3 version).
Fucking hell, trading costs a lot of time.. Takes 10 minutes to send off all my trading carts and trading ships...

except that's not the right answer as I've found out on gamefaqs. The real answer is kind of convoluted
How do I upgrade my ship?
I'm missing one chest in Boston that seems to have not counted because it's not showing up on my map. (I have every single map from the shops too)

Go to an accounting book by a harbormaster.
I am really surprised how in-depth the hunting is in this game. I love wasting like an hour out in the wilderness killing animals, going into Boston and selling the spoils.
Least it ain't as scary as Red Dead's hunting system, fuck bears and cougars jumping on my and ass raping me

Wait... Is Assassin's Creed F2P? No it's not.
Why... People have to buy cheats now.
They still have to buy the skills and perks. They don't just get it for free.
Well that is dumb.
Well, watching gameplay vids, I'm more excited about this coming on PC. At first I was worried about the 0 difficulty combat we saw in ACII and ACB, and the slightly difficulty combat in AC1 and Revelations not coming back, but even the early missions, notably the mercenary fort, seem pretty tough. One guy is a lot more aggressive now. They block and bayonet charge you, and though you can still dispatch them with ease, it's amazing to see a single guard have the capacity to take 1/7th of your health away now, with a bayonet, and I'm pretty sure the muskets do much more damage. This, along with much more enemies at once, better enemies (this basic, early-on mercenary did the 1/7th damage, not a Redcoat, plus the promised elite units you'll face later on), and the lack of healing in combat make me a lot more confident I can actually enjoy the game and not get too frustrated at it, but also not mindlessly click buttons and watch enemies drop.
The graphics looks kick-ass too, and apparently, you fight troops of all sides. The gameplay shows you fighting mercenaries and Redcoats, the trailer shows you killing a Continental/French soldier, so this means there are some twists in the plot and the good guys may not be good for once. The towns look beautiful and the ship battles look amazingly fun. I also like the explorable wildernesses.
Come on Ubisoft, PC release.
