I have a 680 and running all maxed out at 60FPS, haven't dipped under 60 once.
there isn't a lot of flexibility with the options, but you can try to force DX9 by replacing [Graphics_DX11] with [Graphics_DX9] in Documents/Assassin's Creed 3/assassin3.ini but this didn't really help for me
i've tried playing this at 1024x768 and i still get huge slowdowns w/ my 6850. how could ubisoft fuck up so badly? i dunno.

yeah well i first started getting huge lag in the opera hall at the beginning of the game once you're in the animus

Welp, I just wasted money. The game lags so hard when I'm in a city even though the graphics are all on the lowest possible setting. Looking straight down reduces lag but how the fuck am I supposed to play like that?

Managed to get rid of pretty much all the lag by setting it to directx 8 and using a smaller resolution

This really fucking sucks, I was looking forward to this game.
I have a nVidia GTX460M and I can run it maxed out while I actually lagged in Assassins Creed II with the same settings :v:

don't you have a 680? you're just proving what i said, you don't have an AMD card
running on a GTX 570 and it runs fine with no problems at all, FPS dropped during the Eagle bit but that was it.

Speaking of ships, the ship missions are pretty fun. Even if they are a bit basic.
A game focused on ship combat like that with multiplayer too would be pretty cool.
Okay, what the fuck Uplay... Or Steam, I don't even know anymore. I go to start up the game for the first time and it asks for my CD key... okay, I got this... NOT. Apparently it doesn't work when I enter it and it's really starting to bug the hell out of me. Or I completely missed a step and I don't know what I'm doing because Uplay sucks mean dicks.

You should've been notified when you started the game with a steam message telling you you're game code.
If you entered that exact code and it isn't working contact steam support.
Everytime I load back up in game my video drivers crash, which makes the game completely unresponsive. Gonna roll back to regular drivers (was using the beta ones posted before).

Well now I tried restarting Uplay so it could update and now all it's doing is saying it's updating then closing and opening back up again for about the 12th time and I just want to punch every French baby in the face.
