I just hope if they make another game with Connor they make him a character you can relate to a bit more. He keeps talking about how his work as an assassin is difficult and not done but the whole game feels like hunt for Charles Lee. As for Desmond [sp]I think the pivots will most likely give the answer on how to bring him back.[/sp] If they focus another game on Desmond, please, give him a proper plot.
I'm still disappointed by Desmond's and Connor's story arcs. In the previous games it was interesting how the Creed was defended, now [sp]we get Haytham who does amazing job at showing Templars aren't just THE BAD guys. AC1 did it to some extent, too. I was sad that Connor didn't try harder to show his teachings have their own value. It's mainly because he doesn't feel like pure assassin to begin with. He's a mix of guardian of his people, Lee's hunter and then an assassin.[/sp]
Honestly I was sympathizing a lot more with [sp]Haytham towards the end of the game than Connor. Haytham put forwards some very persuasive points, and all Connor really said was "NO U R WRONG WE MUST FITE 4 LIBERTY!!!"[/sp]
*SPOILERS*
Connor, what are you doing.... (first 3 minutes of this video)

[sp]I believe really all the assassins have ever done is be a limiter on the control and power schemes of others, specifically the templars, but maybe even Juno in the next game.
Has there really been a time where they werent fighting an outside force to establish freedom? Have they ever pursued it and given it rather than attempt to prevent it from dissapearing?[/sp]
That's why the templars seem smarter and more concise, it's because they are the aggressors and pursuers of ideology rather than a "creed" that fights against it with sacred set in stone rules and teachings.
I have no idea why, but whenever I see something that also has the hidden blade in it, I laugh really hard. There is an episode of Twin Peaks where a character uses one, and even lowers the character down exactly like they do in the games, having an conversation they really shouldn't be able to.
I was thinking about the whole Assassins versus Templars plot. Spoilers for all the games, mainly the last one.
[sp]I get what templars want to achieve, peace by control. It's extreme but once pulled off it's 100% maintainable. The problem I have is that the "present" templars are written as complete bad guys. I can't say much about AC2 and Brotherhood templars but most of the templars in AC1 and now in AC3 do want peace. There are some rotten apples who joined their cause just to grab power or better life but Haytham, their grand master, seems to have clear mind about it. Now assassins of course dedicated their creed to stop these plans and during all that one lineage was chosen by the "Gods" to save the world.
In AC3 we learned Those that came before tried many ways to stop the sun flare(s?). One method was trying to use the apple of eden (mind control) and using everyone to wish for survival (or something along the lines). It failed because they simply couldn't cover enough ground. If that's true I very doubt the templars would succeed in something the inventors couldn't. Thus mind control is out of the question.
Now let say Haytham would breach the storage and learn all this. Would he just ignore it? I very much doubt it. The templars would start researching the artifacts and I'm sure their priorities would change, too. If these "godly" beings made their clues a little bit more comprehensive humanity could have started working on a way to stop the flares sooner.[/sp]

[sp]Why did Juno want to keep the Templars out if they had far better resources and were more likely to let her free in order to save the world?[/sp]

Writers dropped the ball on that one
Connor's best counterarguments consist of "very good points but you are wrong ok"
the writings sometimes really badly presented and sometimes even a bit illogical
There should be a skin where Connor is wearing a tinfoil hat :v:
I just bought the Season Pass. I put the code in the redeem thing in the game so it's activated but how do I access/download the first DLC pack?

That should be done automatically, at least it did it for me.
cool a big battle scene oh wait it's just a shitty, piss easy minigame.
also lmao how the commander at the end of the battle is like "wow war is bad pitcairns such a monster" as they walk along the british corpses strewn everywhere while the americans hurray.
Is it worth buying this? I've played Assassins Creed 2 when that first came out and this looks really good, but I'm kinda skeptical paying £30 if it could turn out to be disappointing? A simple "yes this game is good buy it you wont regret it" would do haha.
Woohoo! Unlocked all dark costumes and completed wolf pack leader challange
I had more problems with in-game cutscenes having terrible lip-syncing and overall lifeless look. Only those that could be skipped (the movie-like ones) were good because they were clearly mocap'd.
They really need to hurry up and release a simple patch that fixes the pistols and your colors changing back to the default one during cutscenes.
I had terrible lip sync issues in Revelations when I was on my old PC, even though my frame rate was pretty good.
On this newer PC, (better CPU, more RAM) I found the lip sync in AC3 to be excellent. There were no sync problems at all.
If you experience cutscene sync issues, it may be due to your PC specs, even if the game runs reasonable.
Also, people have said to me that Boston is laggy as shit when you first get there. I can't say I noticed any lag throughout the entire game.

I just finished the story. I enjoyed the game a lot but I felt it lacked some feeling. Only reveal these spoilers if you have finished the story. Sorry for the big spoiler block.
[sp]The sequence where you are allied with Haytham ends abruptly for very little cause. Connor says almost nothing to counter Haytham's arguments and to try and reason with him to consider the Assassin's mentality.
Then there's the part where you are critically wounded and you suddenly stumble apon Haytham. He comes out of nowhere unexpectantly and you end up in a fight to the death with him which you somehow are able to break even with him in even though you are pretty much crippled and he has decades of experience. Then he goes to strangle you and despite his decades of experience completely overlooks the fact that you have hidden blades and can just stab him in the neck. He dies so abruptly that all I could think was "wtf is that it?".
Overall Connor was pretty emotionless, except for the parts where he got angry for no reason.
As for the Desmond plot, I'm not sure if he's really dead. I don't know why they would just kill him off. So you prevent the disaster and Juno is freed. Why exactly did the machine kill Desmond?
This again is another abrupt ending to what was an interesting story.
I just felt that everything interesting in the story was weirdly and abruptly ended. I'm disappointed that Desmond is dead, his story was one of the main things that kept me interested in the story.[/sp]
I guess, yet again, they have presented us with a surprise cliffhanger which will only be answered in the next game...

Of all the potential settings... Brazil?

Not really super enthusiastic about the idea of that, but every game so far has been great so I trust (and very much hope) that they know what they are doing..
Brazil doesn't sound like a bad setting. It really depends on the story. I hope they improve their characters for the next title, I wouldn't mind playing as Connor again as long as they make him more interesting.
I'm starting to get nervous about my Season Pass purchase. So far I didn't get that Hidden Secrets DLC.
I hope they pull a Revelations/Brotherhood thing where they still follow Connor.
I hope he finds his lost hair in Brazil
Here's the trailer for the new DLC, tyranny of king washington.
So we'll get some Wolf outfit. Doesn't look bad but I really hope we'll get some outfit that looks similar to Haytham's because Achilles' original one doesn't do it for me.

That does not make any sense.
What the actual fuck..
What's not to like? Americans won't feel bad killing their people because it's alternate reality and everyone else gets to kill more Yanks.
[sp]just kidding[/sp]
I heard there were some sort of main story stuff in multiplayer. Am I missing anything by not playing it?
[editline]December 20 2012[/editline]
Also the Tyranny of King Washington thing seems a bit silly. I guess it's just because of the way they portrayed Washington, obviously to draw comparisons with King George, when they should have made him look like a Templar. Something to justify a DLC about this instead of it becoming what I expect to be "Connor's quest to protect his people" as that would be ultimately pointless since we know, they inevitably lose. Do we know anything else about this DLC or when it comes out?
I don't know the release date but they are making it into 3 parts instead of one.
That looks like the dumbest thing ever.
this is america as depicted in popular culture but in reverse.
it's corny, it's dumb but so is the "usual" depiction, this just seems more so because it's so unexpected
I understand that it tries to be different and depict Washington as a bad guy, nevertheless it looks silly and not something that I want to play.
