Actually, now that I read a bit more, it seems this is an alternate reality where George Washington literally declares himself King, and we might actually get to kill him. Still, there better be Templars. I also hope they don't turn him into one of the comically bad villains of AC2 and Brotherhood. If there's one thing this game did well it was the interesting, seemingly gray villains.
In this new DLC Connor won't be an assassin, but just a kind-of-hunter with outfit made from furs? That sounds weird and interesting at the same time.
That looks like the dumbest thing ever.

I understand that it tries to be different and depict Washington as a bad guy, nevertheless it looks silly and not something that I want to play.
Mind elaborating? I don't see anything wrong with it
I'm actually annoyed they didn't put a little bit more effort into the UI. In SP some menus are annoying but luckily you don't have to use them often. What they did in the MP part of the game is horrible. Surely there must be a way to make it less annoying to navigate.
Mind elaborating? I don't see anything wrong with it
It's more a thing about personal preference, I would like a dlc that would focus on assassins and templars. Some content that would add to the background instead of a focus on Washington being a dick.
i just finished the first desmond mission, and when talking post-mission fluff with shaun hastings he walked right off the cliff in the middle of justifying british taxation
im scared to continue playing

he still has not come back
I dunno guys, The Tyranny of King Washington sounds like an enjoyable and silly romp through Alternate History.
You know... much like the entirety of the AC series?
Though I do like that in AC3 they've portrayed the revolution not as "Colonists good, loyalists bad!", but as "Colonists certainly believe they're right, but it's definitely not that clear cut"
And add my voice to those who preferred Haytham and the Templars in this one - clear, reasoned, logical arguments. One can't help but feel they would have created a better America.

He's gone to get you new cheese.
oh oh oh I know what the twist to this is
it's those [sp]hackers from the end of ac3[/sp] and they're messing with history within the animus
Just had a thought.. if we do act on [SP]Shaun's idea[/SP] of going back to the time of "those who came before", what if the characters in that supposed future AC game were the ones in the end cutscene of Revelations? I.e the guy looking up and the woman with the baby. They could play a role in that game if Ubisoft that route and eventually, that Revelations end cutscene becomes that future AC games cutscene (should they ever use that concept).
Alright, just finished the game, but I'm confused. [sp]The fuck are these pivots and what do they do?[/sp]

They give you cheats and a very vague message when you collect them all.
Forget AC4, make a damn game centered around this fucking amazing naval combat, because there is not a single good one out there.
I thought the combat was pretty shite.
You couldn't walk around the ship, your tiny frigate could take on hundreds of ships at a time, apparently having the crew duck magically makes the hull invincible.
Your ship is a speedboat and it turns on a dime.
The list goes on.
Does anyone else miss the religious/conspiracy stuff? The puzzles and stuff. I liked that a lot.
Also, [sp]that ending was weird.[/sp]

They might not be realistic but they were satisfying nevertheless. I enjoyed them a lot except that they were overthetop at times. One ship taking out 20 ships is kind of exagerated, they should aim for more realism.

That were my favorite parts in ACII and Brotherhoods, the background story and puzzles were simply amazing. Also Subject16 was quite interesting until they showed him in Revelations, he got boring fast and did not really live up to his story that you discover.

If you can suspend your disbelief for a few minutes it's actually incredibly fun and unique.
I'm installing AC Revelations because I've never played it before. I probably should have played it before AC3 but I never had the time to. That's probably why I was so confused playing through AC3 because of skipping a game :v:
What can I expect, without spoilers of course

Not much actual Desmond story development, but pretty good development for ancestors.

This is exactly what was missing for me. It created that feeling that stuff like this could be true in real life.

Just start with AC3. If you play Revelations, you may as well play AC2 and Brotherhood or you'll get confused too.
I seriously regret buying this. The game has its moments but seriously it's glitched to the fucking core. I have not been able to play a single hour of this game without facing some game breaking issue.
Climbing on trees is sometimes horribly glitched and clunky, especially with some of the huge trees you have to climb to synchronize. More than once a mere push of the left stick was enough to make me glitch against the tree, slide all the way down and die hitting the ground and/or having to restart all over again.
Death fucks up everything. If I ever die, the quest marker disappears and most of my ammunition goes missing.
The map is glitched and more than once I cannot even access the global map. I'm stuck at the local one and zooming out will only result in accessing a blank map.
Combat and inventory have a lot of issues. Ammo goes missing with no reason, some weapons have no icons when you assign them to the D-Pad, connor just won't reload his weapon sometimes, etc.
Your outfit is not even taken in account during cutscenes and even if you are wearing a totally different costume or having a different colored outfit, you will always wear the basic white and blue assassin robes during 99% of the cutscenes.
There is loading absolutely every fucking where, even when it doesn't even feel justified.
The ISS is badly designed and broken beyond belief. Any mission requiring you to go there or there without being noticed is going to be a mess because of how shitty the ISS is. People spot you at random, you have no fucking clue how to avoid them, the game doesn't show you the viewcone of enemies despite shoehorning badly made infiltration in, and since the game constantly strips me of my arrows, I have no way of going in stealthy because everything is done so I have no stealth alternative. Not to mention Connor is a fucking incompetent and can't even crouch if it's not in tall grass.
Plus they seemed to have removed so much features from the previous games. You can't jump up while climbing to reach a higher spot (which is a pain in the ass most of the time because the overly automatized climbing system will get stuck more than once), you can't tackle everyone like in the previous games which was really useful to get back to the street in a short time (and since it's now automatic as well I've happened to tackle a bunch of guards unintentionally while I just wanted to climb down a fucking building), etc.
And seriously, is it just me or is the atmosphere in this game really dull ? Assassin's creed 2 had such great atmosphere and soundtrack, this one feels dead and bland most of the time. There is no enjoyment to be had in exploring the cities and the frontier is mostly empty.
Not to mention the voice acting is absolutely terrible. Apart from Haytham, pretty much everyone has a shitty voice with a horrible echo that sounds like everyone is talking indoors, even when talking to some guy in the middle of the battlefield.
Oh and the desmond segments are horrendous. Good ideas but the worst execution possible. I understand why people are angry about the Brazil segment, it's so rushed and terrible it's shameful.
Agreed with everything, AC3 is easily the least finished title I've played from a AAA in awhile
@disappearing ammo
"oh a stealth mission, I know what's good for this, my trust quiver of arrows I have saved for this exact-- where the fuck did my arrows go"

First time I got to drive the ship I aimed for a nearby neutral smaller vessel.
Hit it straight in the side and it exploded and shit. I thought I was just going to bounce off. Was pleasantly surprised.

I agree with many things you said but I'm on PC so I want to just say some glitches I didn't encounter.
The giant trees have some really weird climbing points that are hard to reach. I also had problems with climbing in one of the underground tunnels with strange jumping sequences.
Death didn't do me any harm so far and I didn't notice any of my inventory disappearing.
Lastly I disagree with the atmosphere but I guess that's personal opinion.

I've already mastered AC2 and Brotherhood I just never played ACR was all. For now the controls are really weird, probably because I'm so used to AC3 now.

ACR is awesome. Bit drab in the character development in Constantinople but it really does credit Altair's character in the short cutscenes. Also, the ending sequences of the game are great too.
I just want clear something up. The tower defense minigame in ACR is mandatory only once. You can avoid it pretty easily throughout the game. Istanbul isn't very big but it's not bad. What's great is we get Ezio's last chapter and Altair is an actual character now (it almost doesn't make sense he's such an asshole at the start of AC1). They added a lot of stuff you won't really need and I think they just wanted to go to Istanbul to kind of recreate AC1 but with all the stuff they improved since then.
Spoilers, all the templar deaths

Damn it, why do all of their arguments sound so true?
Especially Johnson saying that the natives would be in danger in the future, they were getting massacred 100 years later.

The natives were in danger regardless. People want more land, other people suffer in the process.
