Maybe show us a comparison of your and EP2 Alyx rather than HL2 Alyx. The new texture is better but her skin is maybe still too perfect, I don't know. Her eyebrows need a little bit more detail though.
Should her eyes be changed? They're sort of blue-grey rather than hazel, although that could just be the lighting. Also, like the other guy said, the eyebrows should be a bit more unkempt. I don't think Alyx is a great believer in aesthetic.

There's a facial expression difference, though dunno if that's just due to the actual facial expression being different.
There's a facial expression difference, though dunno if that's just due to the actual facial expression being different.
It's due to me trying to get 2 shots in relatively the same position from a scene where she's moving around and talking to you.
Could just be that the cheek lines are more visible on the valve texture maybe? I see what you mean, but side by side they don't look too different position-wise. Also Fat-Corgi, couldn't you use cheats and set host-timescale to something really low so you can get an exact screenshot, or did you already do that and it's just hard to get it to the same place anyway

She looks too "HD reskin of x character". Her skin should be a little more coarse with her eyebrows being more sporadic.
make the eyebrows look more rough, add more of an eye bag effect under her eyes she needs to look more rugged
make the eyebrows look more rough, add more of an eye bag effect under her eyes she needs to look more rugged
Make her fat too
I doubt anyone would be fat in the half life universe the combine give out rations and I'd assume that food supplies would be fairly limited for the resistance [editline]16th January 2013[/editline] if anything, the resistance members need to look a bit more skeletal.
The original retail HL2 Alyx had quite a bit of acne scarring; maybe trying bringing it back-out in the normalmap ?
Any ideas on how to do this on the normalmap or the basetexture?
It's due to me trying to get 2 shots in relatively the same position from a scene where she's moving around and talking to you.
Load your models into Source SDK and take pictures of WIP skins from there from now on, it will be much less problematic.
Load your models into Source SDK and take pictures of WIP skins from there from now on, it will be much less problematic.
A slight expression difference is problematic? Also Source SDK uses a full brightness, or almost full bright, which makes things look like pieces of crap. It doesn't render shaders or VMT perams very well either.

[SUB]I could but I'm not necessarily volunteering myself[/SUB]
I'd rather have a blonde white Alyx with big breasts. :v:
you have horrible taste
Any ideas on how to do this on the normalmap or the basetexture?
For normal make a height map with small black spots for the scars. Turn into normal map, overlay over ur current normal map then renormalise. For the colour I guess cavity AO in a color burn overlay, this will darken the "deep bits" and make it a little more red, not entirely sure what kind of ache scarring your after.
You should give her freckles and make the area around her eyes a tiny bit darker (after all, she probably doesn't get much sleep).
Also Source SDK uses a full brightness, or almost full bright, which makes things look like pieces of crap
uhhhhh you do know that the lighting can be changed?
uhhhhh you do know that the lighting can be changed?
You can change lighting in Modelviewer and Faceposer?
modelviewer yes faceposer I'm not sure
You can change lighting in Modelviewer and Faceposer?
faceposer, i've got no idea, but in modelviewer yes setting the Ambient color to 0 0 0 brings out the geometry and especially normal maps/shaders much better than the default Ambient shading
I think you can move the light around in faceposer, but I don't know if you can do anything else with it.
In MDLViewer, colors can be changed, lighting can be moved, and textures can be updated in pseudo-realtime. It provides all the options of ingame renders with significantly faster load times.

Small update, I think I got his cheeks/mouth area fixed up. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/v9HpD.jpg[/img_thumb]
Small update, I think I got his cheeks/mouth area fixed up. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/v9HpD.jpg[/img_thumb]
His lips are a little odd looking, especially considering how subtle the original kleiner's lips are.
