It looks great so far, all that needs the characters is to get their faces sculpt so the model quality increases!

Is it dark enough? [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nBn90Ao.png[/img_thumb] I also wanted to show, I found a good use for a $detail map- adding skin pores to G-man, here's a extreme close-up. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/eoQW95A.jpg[/img_thumb] It may be unnecessary detail, but I at least like to know he has it. Plus it would be good for close-ups of him in SFM movies!
A question: For the Metrocop's eyes do you guys want the glowy shizz [t]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091223234552/half-life/en/images/c/cb/Metrocop_blue_eyes.jpg[/t] Or the clear stuff?
The stubble looks a little too big right now, as if he's forgotten to shave recently
A question: For the Metrocop's eyes do you guys want the glowy shizz Or the clear stuff?
I'd say clear/black lenses, but make those a separate texture so you can $envmap them without it getting on the rest of the model and making it looks like crap. [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
The stubble looks a little too big right now, as if he's forgotten to shave recently
Don't you mean too dark/thick?

How about glow in the dark? As some sort of night vision and that you can see them if you're fighting them in a dark room.
A question: For the Metrocop's eyes do you guys want the glowy shizz
I'd go for the blue eyes, All of the combine have colored eyes, metrocops are the only group of the combine to have no colour for their eyes.
you've heard of alpha channels right?
Yes, I have. But considering the body would also be using a different shader than for the eyes, the 1 alpha map won't work for the whole body.

The last one was a bit too light, but this one seems a bit too dark.

Speaking of glowing eyes, does anyone else think it'd be cool to see them flicker out when you kill combine soldiers?
I don't think CPs should have glowing eyes, on account of they don't have glowing eyes. It also distinguishes them from the modified soldiers.
I love the glowing eyes in the CP art, maybe make both if it's not too much?
Glowing eyes make the Combine look like elite, alert trained soldiers, which it has been proven the Metrocops are not. I think it would enforce their soulless nature to keep the eyes dark.
I think it would be cool if there was a part of the metrocop that was sort of electrically eluminated, and when killed it slowly stopped glowing. It doesn't need to be the eyes, but it's really cool to see the glowy stuff.. stop glowing. Like in killzone 2 and 3 when you killed helghasts their eyes would slowly fade out [editline]dsds[/editline]
maybe make the metrocop eyes translucent so you can see human eyes that blink? sounds kinda dumb but it would enforce the reality that they're just humans working for the combine, not actually THE combine
That has me wondering, what about if you get a headshot kill on a metrocop and part of their face is exposed? would be an eye-opener to the player and how they used to be just normal people living normal lives until they were taken away and made into soldiers

What do you guys think of, for one of the new secret areas, having one of these: (Big Momma Pod) -and have it sprout baby headcrabs if you get too close. If you shoot it, it explodes in a big shower of goo/blood, and baby headcrabs. Inside it could be some 'reward' for killing it and all the little headcrabs. Or have it hooked up to some other device that's loading them into headcrab shells, or some sort of 'incubator'. Still having it explode when shot, but not sprouting baby hcs unless it was shot.
I think the hairs in Gman's stubble are too small. It looks like fine hair off the nose of a cat. It's beard hair. This stuff is thick. Like, about as thick as human hair gets.
A question: For the Metrocop's eyes do you guys want the glowy shizz Or the clear stuff?
Refracted and glowy. Like, if the lens is like an inch thick with the light behind it. Like what's described here [IMG_thumb]http://desktop.freewallpaper4.me/view/original/6211/killzone-2-helghast.jpg[/IMG_thumb] except real time and not painted on and ass looking like what's actually in Killzone 2/3 :P edit: Someone already brought up the HG. heh.
-secret-
For another secret place, make a room with full of TVs with GMan on it and texture Gman on the walls and floors and ceiling.
I think the metrocops should have slight blue eyes, because just black/grey eyes look kind of weird. Or well, the best bet would be to experiment with both options and see which one looks better.
For one gman sighting in the game, Give Gman breen's suit. Just to confuse the masses. Looking forward to your rebel face textures corgi. Gman looks wonderful. Though the worst resolution faces probably go to either Odessa or grigori. Grigori probably wouldn't need a super high res texture because you never go near him... but Odessa undoubtedly needs randomly selected moustaches. A different moustache for each playthrough.
non-transparent eyes without any kind of glow are the best option
I think a tribute to this would be interesting, considering it was the first HL2 level ever made.
makes sense to have one in the raveholm mines with the infinite respawning headcrabs
Actually Ravenholm is filled with headcrabs because the Combine shelled it. I think there was going to be a Big Momma Pod there originally, in the leak there's an Advisor (as a placeholder model) that fast headcrabs spawn out of. But I guess they decided to go with the shelling as the reason for headcrabs, rather than a hidden BMP.
What is your current Gman eye texture, and what is the old one?
original:
You know, I can kind of see what that guy was talking about earlier. The original's iris was blurier than the new one.
