Ok, let's try this again:

Pretty good, although I think it doesn't look worn down enough.
hipster.

The only gripe I have is that the white-ish horizontal stripe towards the tops looks like it's been stretched out sideways a bit.
[sp]although to be completely honest I am not sure that even works anymore[/sp]
Still works.

Ugh. Why'd you add that "NEW" graffiti? it's gonna tile so obviously now. :v:
But seriously, it's good, though I agree that It could perhaps use a little bit more weathering, though I would be fine if it's kept as is.
I've played through there and that's never happened. I would imagine you would have to do something like noclip behind them to get them to do that.
It happened on my last play through. I killed the turret guy first however, and when I made my way up there the metro cop with the pistol was standing there exactly like the one in the video was. I always thought that once the AI saw the player they never lost track in HL, that proved me wrong I guess.
You do know that BM's textures are as low-quality as the original HL2 textures? Or I should say, as low-resolution as the HL2 textures?
Well to me everything in Black Mesa seems so HD
So things like this will not happen anymore? :v:
Just tested this- still happens in our mod- but if you bump into, or get within a foot of them they turn around and start attacking. Plus if one dies, the other is alerted and starts attacking you.
UPDATE
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dQNEipt.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
That's some good progress, but I think the higher part could use some tweaking - too noticeable when applied to the long walls.
We're thinking of putting the mod on the Steam Greenlight Concepts soon, a link will be posted on here when it's up.
are you really sure about doing that this early when your project has only just started
weve already seen how vocal and hiveminded the fakefactory fanbase is
"The team will also redo every texture in the game to be high quality, though from what we’ve seen so far these new textures cannot come close to those of the Cinematic mod."
Then these guys will have to give realistic description of what they'll do, that's all.

Can you test if they react to gunfire? I mean just the sound of shots being fired.
UPDATE
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dQNEipt.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Just to be sure, that faint "X" over the image is just something you added to the update preview whatever, and isn't part of the actual texture?
Just to be sure, that faint "X" over the image is just something you added to the update preview whatever, and isn't part of the actual texture?
yes, the 'X' is just an overlay for when I put the pic on Imgur...along with the 'NEW'.

Tested- they do.
Barring the occasional goofs like the turret gunner, HL2 did have some fairly impressive AI

The Watermelon.
Without a doubt this is the most important asset in the entire game. One which I've already increased the poly count exponentially for the mod. I feel that the team can work together to produce an end Watermelon of the likes no other HL2 mod has ever seen.
I like the looks of the mod so far, keep it up!
I can max HL2 at solid 200fps, Wonder what's like to max this one mod out.
For the name of this mod, I suggest "Half-Life 2:FCM", FCM of course standing for Fancy Collaboration Mod. What do you guys think?
[sp]Fat Corgi Mod or Fuck Cinematic Mod[/sp]
I think "Half-Life 2: Revisited" would be a more appropriate name
Or "Half-Life 2.1" as in Spider-Man 2.1.
Barring the occasional goofs like the turret gunner, HL2 did have some fairly impressive AI
Source AI is shit and requires careful planning by level developers who then have to specially develop and build their maps to better support AI, such as adding cover hints and assault points.
Hell boot up gmod and spawn some HL1 grunts and some Combine soldiers, it's pretty obvious that even the 'simple' HGrunts of HL1/HL:S outshine the Combine soldiers.
Too much reliance on scripting, not enough free thinking.
I personally think Half-Life 2: Enhancement Mod is a fine name.
This AGAIN?! Geez, I thought we decided way later on in development we'd focus on a stupid name.
stupid name.
THAT'S IT
Half life 2: pretty version
Half-Life 2: Orgasm version
Half-Life 2 or: How It Should Look In The Year 2013
Half-Life: Black Ops 2
