Holy shit guys cut down on the boxes, almost every new idea/media I've seen in here for the last few days gets instantly showered in them.
They guy was suggesting suppressed rebels, on the opposite side of the world from black mesa, 20 years on, would be using black mesa equipment, just because. Even after the combine would had confiscated all that stuff. His ideas just arn't that good.
just saw Fakefactory viewing this thread boy he must be pissed
god help us
just saw Fakefactory viewing this thread boy he must be pissed
Poor guy. He's like a one-man Ninja Theory. Or is Ninja Theory like a team of FakeFactories at this point?
Get rid of those fucking 2D tree cards on d1_town_02 please. On its skybox too.
Like the cremator idea so far, it could always make a small cameo that doesn't affect gameplay.
If it doesn't impact the gameplay or look of the game at all, and would only be in a small cameo, isn't that just adding something for the sake of adding it?
I think you should walk into a rebel base, start talking to rebels, and suddenly from behind you hear "I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!" And you turn around and see a rebel with a missing leg, like Eli. He says "Remember me? You thought you killed me back at Black Mesa, but guess what?" and then he kicks you in the balls, the screen goes red, you kneel on the floor, and faceplant. You see him walk away with the other rebels, laughing maniacally. Then you're dead. The end. [sp]I'm totally not serious.[/sp]
I did a crude model hack a few years ago with the bottom part of the combine mask, here is how it looked on one of the citizens: [t]http://puu.sh/20mxb[/t][t]http://puu.sh/20mB8[/t] Mind this was just me testing the idea and I never added straps or got past simply hacking it on. I think the idea would good as long as its used sparingly and not appear on the majority of the citizens you come across. [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Great, my old shitty model hack is at the top of the page.
Just add a strap so it feasibly would stay on and it would be fine
Just add a strap so it feasibly would stay on and it would be fine
But even then, why would they ever need to wear just the respirator?
But even then, why would they ever need to wear just the respirator?
To keep all the ash, smoke, and stuff from getting in their lungs during the Street Wars?
To keep all the ash, smoke, and stuff from getting in their lungs during the Street Wars?
Touché.
If it doesn't impact the gameplay or look of the game at all, and would only be in a small cameo, isn't that just adding something for the sake of adding it?
I'd have to agree, though depending on how it's added it could either make the city look more alive or just look shoehorned.
Touché.
And we don't know if the Combine have chemical weapons or not. Better safe than sorry.
Maybe to protect from radioactive particles floating in the air, as in the areas with radioactivity.
Maybe to protect from radioactive particles floating in the air, as in the areas with radioactivity.
I don't think it's totally out of the question for the Combine to have used biological or nuclear weapons against Earth in the Seven Hour War. Since they don't seem to have any qualms with sucking the oceans dry and strip-mining the planet of all resources, I don't think they'd really care about a couple city-sized radiation hotspots on the more heavily-armed continents and countries.

The whole Combine mass destruction is kinda why I wish we'd seen more of the wasteland, places where the Combine were merciless and there's nothing more than a few straggling Xen flora and fauna. Crossing a part of the dried up ocean to get to some base stationed within a beached tugboat would have been cool.
The combine portals opening would pollute the immediate atmosphere anyway. It is stated that the air in their can't support human life. So when the portals opened the world woulda been met with lotsa nasty stuff. WIth a 7 hour war it would need to be pretty devastating. EMP might not be feasible since it would destroy humanities ability to communicate and thus issue a surrender. Maybe a massive psychic attack?
when the citidel explodes in ep1 in ep2 the outland should be fucked up more...
I think the area was fairly fucked up.
when the citidel explodes in ep1 in ep2 the outland should be fucked up more...
Much of the explosive energy was directed into creating the super portal. I'm pretty sure if it was left unchannel the explosive radius would have been much further. Though I really would like to see what mutations occurred to those still stuck in the city at the time of the explosion.
when the citidel explodes in ep1 in ep2 the outland should be fucked up more...
Nah, The only thing i think that would of been nice in episode two that there wasn't is more portal storms than the one at the beginning.
I took a better picture of G-man's new glowing eyes. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Yc9uWJw.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Can we please increase the weapon variation for NPC's? I find it hard to believe that the only weapons that the Combine can ever obtain are a USP Match, an AR2, a SPAS-12, and an MP7 A couple more pistols, another shotgun and maybe another assault rifle, along with maybe some other sorts of weapons. And a smoke or flashbang grenade wouldn't hurt either Obviously you wouldn't be able to pick them up, because new weapons (barring past game weapons) are a no-no
It sounds hard, but are you thinking about actually being able to see Gordon's hand pick up stuff instead of seeing the object float infront of you? It was one of the major things that bugged me in half life.
