Unless someone can fix source's pathetically short depthbuffer, I'm afraid not :C
Would this be possible with our current resources?

Yes.

I sure love posting random posts!
Although the DoF quality is kinda bad...
If the you tone the blurring way down and make the depth transitions much faster this could be a very interesting addition.
i think it'd be nice if DOF applied only to your peripherals, i.e. the edges of the screen.
Diffrent bodygroups for the cca/mpf they need like badges or something so like 05 04 03 02 01 , or DvL or Cmd so it makes it more cool
I was thinking of adding Gonomes though.
I thought that's what poison headcrab zombies were invented to replace.
TBH, I'd prefer new zombie types over recycled stuff. Especially if it's over a Gearbox enemy.
Then you modify the gameplay of the levels at the map level, don't go adding a new enemy (Which would likely be unbalanced) and detract from the game.
He's already adding other enemies like houndeyes, so I don't see the problem with adding a Gonome. I'd like to see it personally
But Gonomes aren't cannon. At least bullsquids and houndeyes exist in the story.
screw you guys; I personally love that Corgi is trying to freshen up the experience by adding new elements to the game, and I think that adding the gonome is a great idea.
On another note, the zombies' white clothes never made sense to me, has changing them to blue citizen clothes been considered?
They are though. All the stuff that happened in the expansions is canon unless Marc Leidlaw writes something that would need to contradict it, he said so themselves in a response to a question e-mail about the canonicity of the Gearbox expansions.
On another note, the zombies' white clothes never made sense to me, has changing them to blue citizen clothes been considered?
The white shirted zombies are just the citizens without their blue jackets on, that way they could just use the same texture for zombies in areas with rebels, refugees, and citizens.
We are hopefully going to have this:
We're having skingroups for the zombies, and maybe some bodygroups too (for missing arms, more guts, less guts, ripped pantlegs, ripped sleeves, jacketed, jacket less, Rebel clothed, etc.).
here's an idea: lets have different clothing for alyx. like when you first meet her in city 17 she would have her original hl2 clothing, but when you meet her at black mesa east, she would have her brown jacket off, and have her black mesa sweatshirt instead. then at nova prospekt, she would have a bullet proof vest like this: with some pouches and a lambda logo on the back. then at city 17 (street war chapters) she would still have the vest, then at at citadel she would have her original hl2 clothing

I like the idea of her not wearing her jacket in BM East, if we have enough time we could make a jacket-less model of her. Though the bullet proof vest wouldn't really fit imo.

All the other bullet sponge AIs need protection, too, dont they?
Zombies are never seen devouring corpses in HL2; the mouth is not only functionally pointless but its complete defiance of physical possibility in terms of human anatomy is quite a far stretch from the much less fantastic, grounded style of HL2 in comparison to the much more visually interesting and physiologically sound open chest cavity. It also might help to reiterate that the new zombie look is supposed to be based heavily on the Gaming Heads statue, which also features the cavity in place of the mouth.

I realize that, but I've seen this being disputed far too many times in the past with piss-poor arguments supporting both sides. Seeing it here where I thought it wouldn't ever be brought up because it's not important at all was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Wouldn't it be something if everyone on Facepunch got too lazy to type and just responded to everything with Vocaroo. Also, using the word "fuck" between every other word makes you sound a bit silly.
let me go back and edit the script.
In the OP when you said you improved A.I, does this mean A.I is moved over from .AIN to the .NAV file scheme, and can we expect to see a dynamic director (also have npc A.I based on bots like L4D2)?
Also, do you think we will see shadows projected onto view models?
Corgi or Ken, do you think these are a possibility?
All the other bullet sponge AIs need protection, too, dont they?
Barney has a Civil Protection Uniform and Grigori's pure badass :v:
I wouldn't be opposed to a very few rebels (or just Alyx, resourceful as she is) having pre-war SWAT Gear.
Especially Alyx, even. After all, she has that Machine Pistol (which I assume she built herself as it has no real-world counterpart), a personal Robot (with advanced AI), her shorting / data storage device, and brought home a Cremator head (a creature that even Eli Vance and his team ("We're still not sure what that does-") knows nothing of).

I know the post is seven hours old, but wouldn't it make sense for her to have civilian clothes on in her first appearance? I mean, you would want her to stand out, being a major character and all but if she's going around the city, even stealthily, the civilian clothes would help her blend in. I agree with her wearing the sweatshirt in Black Mesa East, but then past that I think she should be in her classic HL2 attire.
isnt that obvious from her being nagged by her would have been stepmom about toying with the gravity gun
I don't think we can understand that.
I don't think we can understand that.
Mossman nags at Alyx for saying "Let's have some fun with the Gravity Gun."
"The Zero-point Energy Field Manipulator is not a TOY Alyx."
She effectively fills the 'mother' role in the dysfunctional Black Mesa family.
Eli's the daddy, Kliener the grandfather, Magnusson that really annoying uncle everyone has.
