I like water discussion better than grass discussions.
Next we can discuss the geometry and variation in tree dispersal :v:
On a previous sequiter, I think this mod benefits from nit-picking more than most due to its very superficial nature, there's not a lot of gameplay to be added/tweaked and most of the assets are simply redesigns of existing assets.
but...where are the lensflares!??! i wanna feel the sun INSIDE my skin
but now seriously since you are using the alien swarm engine is it possible you could add cromatic aberration or depth of field into the engine? i think it was done as a demostration in the shader editor tread here in FP

Please no. I myself have glasses and get alot of chromatic abberation in real life and I can tell you that its more of a annoyance then a cinematic/realistic addition. As for DoF, Ken has a really nice fixed up DoF with autofocus but he says it just needs a higher quality shader.

Have you guys thought of changing the flashlight at all?
[editline]27th February 2013[/editline]
Not saying it needs changing, just thought about it though.

Change it in what way? Like changing the texture?
[editline]26th February 2013[/editline]
Ken did attach the flashlight to the guns...not too sure why though, as I always though it was supposed to be on the suit. Maybe we can add an option for that?

Yea I meant code-wise. Like I said, it doesn't really need any change and it's a minor detail but giving it some dynamic presence would be cool(dynamic as in movement or something). If it were attached to the suit, it would bob a bit or something.
Is it possible to fake dynamic water ripples? I mean, they'd still have to be the regular flat splash effects, but isn't there a way that can be done better?

Yeah, I was going to talk to Vman about it.
You should be able to use a refract texture for some of the materials used in a splash effect.
Shouldn't it be flat then? I live by a lake and I can confirm when water 'sits', it's just a big flat surface until something interrupts it.
A bit late and off topic, but I just realised how much of a smartass I sound in this post. I didn't intend that, sorry :v:
Water's looking much better now.

Even newer.

Can't wait to see that in the Coast @ sandtraps. Some blood leaking into the water like smod would be a cool touch imo.
Just one more thing, what about sludge, is that getting a face lift too?
Anyways, I'm impressed. Keep up the good work!

What Gordon sees with his glasses off.

I'm personally waiting to get my hands on the airboat levels, but the coast should be pretty easy to do (I've gotta paint the flows manually)
Final before I go to bed.

and MVK: http://static.glitchvid.com/videos/new/fp/waterv5.mkv
Both should be live in ~10 mins.
The reason I attach the flashlight to view model is because it doesn't cast shadows (hidden behind the prop you're casting, for real) when it's on the suit, also there's a option to control it.
