Has anyone else been having problems with getting mob farms to give out decent rates? I've made a sky mob farm and the rates are pretty slow despite me clearing out all the nearby caves (Just to be sure). For the tall mobs I have a drowner and for spiders I have a crusher.
I just started getting back into Minecraft after a year or so of not playing it. (My friend showed me Technic 6).

That city consisted of on/off work over a few months, I got some help from friends on primarily interior design... as you can probably tell from those buildings I'm not very good at it.
I've actually started a few new projects on another server, this one right here is supposed to be a more detailed version of the last picture, at least when 1.2 comes along.

Took me forever, but it's finished. It's a giant facility that focuses on mob drops, but I have wings on the sea level for wheat, storage, docking, and a cannon.

Something similar actually, I will be making an automatic pigmen farm for INFINITE GULD sometime in the future, but since that would require 3 or 4 metric tons of pistons I'll put it on hold.
