my old house before it got blown up ): was trying to work on the simple interior side of things but now I'm just gonna build some castles. i have an underground castle im working on too atm, has secret rooms and shizz, tis pretty cool
This is a project that i "hope" to succeed in, eventually, maybe.. perhaps. It's the White Tower of Tar Valon from the Wheel of Time series. there's a bunch of pictures of the tower and none of them quite look the same but i picked this one because it looks really really nice and just what i imagined the tower to look like. There isn't really much to take screenshots of, i've only just laid down the base and the stairs, and is slowly working my way upwards. according to the schematic of the general shape that i made in paint the entire building with its two wings will be about 560 blocks long. I'm working on figuring out how many blocks high it will be, which is of course the most crucial part. i may very well have to make the tower itself a liiitle bit shorter. I will never finish this project. Edited: No seriously, there is no possible way to build this!
Hey guys! anyone remember this old post? I didn't lie when i said that i would never finish this project! because i didn't. instead i restarted it atleast 2 times before i finally ended up with something i was happy enough with to keep working on. I started out with building the tower itself, making full use of MCedit because i can't be arsed to spend a week building a circular tube 45 blocks high, and then built one of the wing buildings, when that was done i just copied the entire thing and plopped it down at the other side. The main building material is actually snow, white wool didn't have a white enough texture (with doku's textures) and had these terrible seams in between but snow did the job perfectly. as for the roof i used stone slabs but i might alter that texture a bit to make the darker stones look more like their lighter companions. as i said earlier, MCedit has been running hot in between the actual creative game play! it has been a great tool for fixing problems which i did not see until i already had built a large portion of stuff. The tower, the wing buildings and the stuff in between is however completely empty! there is hardly any solid information about what the tower looks like on the inside. there are some significant rooms which just HAS to be in there, but there's hardly enough information to fill the entire construct. with the use of paint, i made myself an easy to follow guideline of how to build the tower, and also to make sure it will eventually be possible to build without hitting the sky limit too early. I'm just gonna have to wait for 1.2 to come out (which might do so next week i heard someone say) and then continue with the rest of the tower. Right now however i've hit a wall. I suck at interior design! hell i suck at building design too which is why i pretty much copied right off of the artwork. At this moment i can't do anything more on this project. So i might actually let anyone who wants to finish the interior go ahead and do that! I'm just gonna figure out where i should upload this thing and then i'm gonna make a thread over at the minecraft forums as well, say what you want about it's community but i've seen some pretty good looking interior designs there as well as great space disposition! Tell me what you think about it and give me a shout out now if you feel like doing some interiors!
So here's a map of the various zones of the city. Once they fill out, I'll release. Right now I am concentrating on adding lots of little details and secrets. Residential looks brown because I added wooden gabled rooves (which are still accessible and form an attic)
Whatever happened to the guy who was working on sections of the Taipei 101 building in preparation for an increased height limit?

I've uploaded my tower to mediafire if anyone would like to dick around with it!
Why is the agriculture district so small? Agriculture is pretty land-intensive.
I can do this, but it'll push back the release
Do it. Slums are awesome.
Why is the agriculture district so small? Agriculture is pretty land-intensive.
I'll see about making it as large as possible, I'll probably extend it to at least the edge of Wizard Also thinking of having some kind of aqueduct that reaches around and provides irrigation for the farms Also, does anyone know if I spawn animals in an enclosed space if that'll be persistent if the map is played in SMP?
Currently making an automatic chicken machine with RedPower. Control circuit still has a few kinks to work out.
What exactly is that circuit down there for? It seems you could easily do a chicken coop without having all the difficult circuitry. Also I have no proper understanding of the Blulectric system at all :saddowns: What do the battery boxes do, let alone even give them power?
What exactly is that circuit down there for? It seems you could easily do a chicken coop without having all the difficult circuitry. Also I have no proper understanding of the Blulectric system at all :saddowns: What do the battery boxes do, let alone even give them power?
The circuitry is required because chicks need to grow up first. The circuitry causes the deployers to fire about 25-50 eggs each, so the number of chicks will vary. When that phase is done, a timer kicks in that's set for 20 minutes, the time it takes for a baby animal to mature. When the time is up, it triggers pistons above the harvest enclosure that let water in, filling the chamber, and another timer set for 20 seconds stops the flow (the chickens are dead by this time). Their drops are picked up by transposers lining the bottom of the enclosure. Then the system is ready for another round. A few additions to the circuit like an item detector and a few supporting gates could be triggered only when all the deployers are full and thus make it fully automatic (it's only semi-auto right now, requiring manual triggering, but the rest is automatic). Battery Boxes just store excess energy from solar panels and thermopiles. Thermopiles by themselves can't produce enough power to run machines for very long on their own, so the boxes store an excess charge while the machines aren't running, then they can deliver the power to the machines when needed. Same for solar panels, except it allows for operation at night and charging in the day. On my friend's server we have a moderately sized solar array atop a rubber tree (which we live under, beneath the ground) and a thermopile array to provide trickle-charging at night.

My stalled collaborative build, gonna try to get it going again in a month or two.Ended up doing 99% of this myself.
Finalized the chicken machine's design. Fired it up a few times on a friend's server and it's produced 289~ chicken since start-up. Tempted to make a fully automatic one on my SSP test world for shits and giggles. :v:

Converted my chicken machine prototype to full-automatic mode and ran it for 3 hours. After 3 hours it yielded 3.53 stacks of feathers and 3.34 stacks of meat.
Now use buildcraft to save the entire thing and then make a few of them. also sharing it here would be nice too
I'll likely have a different config than everyone else, I'm not using TeknicPack or anything like that, just RedPower/Buildpower. As for making more of them, the only thing that makes it so slow are the egg-laying chickens. I have 64 of them and it still takes quite some time to fill the 3 deployers, so it averages about 20-30 minutes between runs. Would you settle for a diagram or two?
