Building a warehouse on my legit singleplayer world. Will post pics once I come up with a suitable design.
Updated my map, it's pretty much going to be what I run when I get a proper server in a few months. Started on a city: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/577835582169784298/1BB2CA1089E25F8D297A451DA7BDCAA7D5CD90D9/[/t] Added a new mountain: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/577835582169785120/C45881B0700C5C3B0EB1466B6D3A76CC2DEC6855/[/t] 256-block high mountains are the best kind!

That looks cool, bit of a mindfuck but cool. [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Thought i'd try my own big mansion thing, gonna fill the whole mountain up, add a huge garden.

You might want Optifine to stop the textures from warping. Can anyone help me with this? Trying to make a secret door for my small pyramid but i'm having issues getting it to where the doors will be closed and stepping on a pressure plate will open them, keep them open for enough time to walk through and then shut and have it like this with pressure plates on both sides. Help? Here's my failed system and what i'm working with [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/suo3B.jpg[/img_thumb]

If that doesn't work, add more repeaters to alter the time taken for it to open/close. Although I think it would increase the time taken for the doors to open too I think.

I was dicking with them for twenty minutes before i came here and asked.
Just add two behind each piston, set them to a four-tick delay, and try it out. If it doesn't give enough time, add more.
Okay but how do i get it to start closed? And it's kinda hilarious how i've been playing Minecraft since 1.6 and sitll don't know all this, haha Edit: Got it delayed, kinda, but now two lower ones aren't opening from the outside. Lovely.
Add a Redstone torch attached to the block underneath the pressure plates and wire the other side of the block to the piston system. If it works correctly, the torch will keep the door powered until the plates are activated, and the pistons will retract. When you step off and walk through, the repeaters will keep the charge from reactivating the system for however as long as you set the repeaters to. And don't feel bad if you don't know how to work with Redstone. It's fairly annoying, and the more advanced systems elude me. [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Check this page out for a better explanation.
Still not working. If only i had like a diagram or something. Recommend any videos or anything? Edit: Just saw your edit. Thanks guys, i really appreciate your help.
I'll try recreating it and upload the save if you want. If not, I can upload a few pictures.
I'll try recreating it and upload the save if you want. If not, I can upload a few pictures.
Pictures would be easier but i don't want to make you do all that.
Nah, I'd be happy to help. Just a moment... [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Here you go. Just recreate everything and it'll work perfectly. For best results, use Snapshot 12w27a, although the actual circuitry shouldn't be affected in 1.2.5. [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Oh yeah, if the spawn screws up, the demo is at X 1063, Z 1446.
-snip- I'm stupid, nevermind this. Will respond when i've figured the wiring out.
Extract the 'Redstone Pyramid' folder to your save folder. Just input '%appdata%' into the Run console, then go to '.minecraft/saves' and copy the folder there.
Yeah, yeah, i got it, haha, blanked for a second. Working on the wiring now. Thanks for your help man, i really appreciate it.
No prob. Happy to help.
Update from yesterday, Got one of the towers 90% finished: [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2012-07-17_19.12_.16_.png[/t] Finished the foundations for all four: [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2012-07-17_19.12_.20_.png[/t] and standardised the lighting, eventually the torches will be glowstone, making the entire village mobproof: [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2012-07-17_19.12_.47_.png[/t]
More from the floating island on my friend's survival server. The island to the right is my friend's island, which has another neighboring mini-mushroom island which is my other friends. The platform to the left is my tree farm, and the building in the middle is the entrace-hub and my storage room. The island in the far back is my own mini island, where soon will be my wizard tower. The spiraling staircase leads to my sky-mob trap (I mostly use it to get XP), and I now have a floating bridge which goes to the desert, because going through the forest is dangerous due to all the mobs and it's easy to get ambushed.
Back once again, got another render for you guys. It's at 1280x800 again. [t]http://puu.sh/Idzt[/t] Just a random ravine on my world, was curious how the lighting would work like that so I thought I'd test it and this was the result.
What program do you use?
Thanks! [editline]18th July 2012[/editline] Hours of rendering I feel like. :suicide:
Rendering those images had no gain for me other than to look at it then pop it in a folder somewhere. I just left a render going overnight, paused it then resumed it the next night or whenever I was away from my PC. [editline]18th July 2012[/editline] Also does anyone know how I can make a huge as fuck mountain that looks like it's been generated and now player made? I'd love one on my server's superflat world, just to build into it and stuff.

Only takes like 30 min.
