I haven't played Minecraft in a long, long time. Since I last posted in this thread. This Tekkit thing I keep seeing, it's just a collection of mods, and works offline, right? I should get my hands on it, looks like it adds more than Minecraft starts out with
It's a launcher called Technic Launcher, which includes Tekkit (MP), Technic (SP, and a few mods that don't have MP versions), and a bunch of other mod packs you can choose from.
I'm currently working on a big project, it will be a map of a city with deus ex-like size, divided in 4 small districts : The projects district. With gray-ish landscapes, old condemned buildings and filthy dark alleys. With average-sized buildings, markets, lanterns, signs and silly stuff everywhere. Featuring nightclubs, whorehouses, casinos and glowstone. Glowstone everywhere ! This project will have no purpose but exploring, searching for stuff telling you a bit about the city.
That would probably look awesome with a custom texture pack.

It's a break from all that medieval stuff people usually build in Minecraft. Are you going to release that map when you're finished with it?
Are you going to release that map when you're finished with it?
Yes. It would sucks to keep it for myself.
Working on the Lancer Frigate , using the real size Height : 60m Width : 57m Lenth : 250m I am using this http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/2/20/Lancer_schem.jpg and mathematics to find the angles, number of block I will need and the size of each panel, it's not 100% accurate cause minecraft use blocks (you don't say) and it can't be perfect to fit real size. if it 2 or 3 times bigger then real one it could be even more smooth.
That looks like effort.
To make you wait for my big city project, I uploaded a map I did before : http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/cho-1320089/ Both maps are in the same universe, this one is a village that inspired me to do Cho Town in the city project.
I still have to do the interior and the back part
I don't watch Star Trek and that's still awesome
I don't watch Star Trek and that's still awesome
It's from Star Wars.
I wanted to start a new project, but my main world already has like 50 unfinished projects so I made a new world for this specific one. I found the largest mountain I can find, and then flattened the top out so it makes a platue. Then, I built a wall around the plateu to it's surface. (This is survival, so it took forever with stone tools) Here's a sample of the wall I plant to build (The giant hunk of cobble to the left is going to be the largest of the towers I'm going to build)
Wow, man that looks really fucking cool! I always loved fortresses!!!!
I built the main toward downward. I want to attach small turret things with supports to give it character, but idduno. It doesn't look right. Anyone got any ideas?
Give it a top of some sort. Either like this

Or like this

The top will be relatively easy, I was thinking of something like that. But I want the wall of the tower itself to have some kind of detail.
The top will be relatively easy, I was thinking of something like that. But I want the wall of the tower itself to have some kind of detail.
Balconies maybe? Or a giant arch that "supports" from the ground below the mountain to the side of it
Some huge tower thing i'm working on in Profan's tekkit server. Base is 64x64 (or 66x66, can't remember), each floor being 9 blocks tall. Big doesn't always mean a good builder :v: Main problem with the tower is just the sheer amount of resources needed to build it; the design is simple enough. [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] The interiors currently look like arse, they'll probably be the last thing I get around to doing.

wish minecraft for xbox had creative mode :( i cant be bothered playing on my laptop anymore
Yeah, but it's not as impressive as it would be in survival.
wish minecraft for xbox had creative mode :( i cant be bothered playing on my laptop anymore
Isn't it coming in the next update? That's what my one friend claimed a couple days ago.

I started working on this this week. I'm around 20 hours so far. It's a replica of the Temple of Time (Zelda: OoT)

Also, the interior is not that bright. The picture was taken when the roof wasn't built yet and is from yesterday. It's quite dark inside. Trying to come up with solutions to bring in the natural light and mix with some artificial light using glowstones.

[image_thumb]http://niggaupload.com/images/sntD.png[/image_thumb] [image_thumb]http://niggaupload.com/images/ZNe7z.png[/image-thumb] Small yet functional for PVP without destroying blocks or placing TNT. i'm too tired to make sense, copy and paste if interested

If I can ever get the heightcap high enough I'll build them proper 1:1 height with every floor and some details in the core.
