I made a few worlds, took a couple of screenshots. [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5765709/2012-07-31_21.23.59.png[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5765709/2012-07-31_21.28.30.png[/IMG_thumb] [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] The top one is my favourite, it's pretty much just obsidian poles around the place.
I got something that looked exactly like the top one Dubbed it "Prison age" then linked to it by accident without bringing a linking book
Dense ores + Star fissures = so much minerals I always wanted to try this mod out, it's pretty cool. but I had an older version which wasn't compatible with TMI and I didn't want to start a clean jar after having so much mods already inside my minecraft jar, latest version fixed compatibility issues, which is great.
Should try that with a few dozen instances of dense ores. The more Dense Ores symbols are in a book the more ores there are.
Dense Ores adds decay to your world.
Hell + Swampland biome + Eternal Storms = Lightning spam
Heavy resources shouldent add age instability, it should make it a pain in the ass to live in the age Volcanoes, earthquakes, meteor storms, you name it :v:
Bloody love this mod, took some screenshots of some worlds I created. I really like the second one, it was the one that gave me the Default Generation generation type. Hah, got trapped in a world because I forgot my linking book, even though I had a chest full of them. I found a chasm that seemed to stretch to the void and beyond, but because I had dense ores in, a bunch of diamonds were near the bottom so I made my way down, and at the bottom was what seemed like an End Portal. so after collecting my stuff I jumped in, and it brought me back to the overworld.
Great mod, I wouldn't have known about it if my friend hadn't found it here. Took a look at the compatibility list, backpack mod has come in handy, and I highly suggest runic dust, the simplest rune, I find is by far the most useful for navigating ages and getting back.
Or EE's Alchemy bags/Forestry's backpacks.
my jar corrupted and I had to force update to 1.3.1 god dammit 1.2.5 mods i didnt make a jar copy
my jar corrupted and I had to force update to 1.3.1 god dammit 1.2.5 mods i didnt make a jar copy
Check your PM's.
Looks interesting, I await an update for 1.3.1.
Can't wait to remove instability. I finished my beach house yesterday only to find giant craters that swallowed up my whole island.
Can't wait to remove instability. I finished my beach house yesterday only to find giant craters that swallowed up my whole island.
I have decay turned off right now because it lags like a bitch. I can't wait until that is fixed (presumably in the next release judging by those videso)! It will be so amazing.
Can't wait to remove instability. I finished my beach house yesterday only to find giant craters that swallowed up my whole island.
There's an option to turn it off in the configuration file. Check out the wiki, because I don't remember the exact string.
Why would you turn instability off? Makes the game more interesting.
Why would you turn instability off? Makes the game more interesting.
Because, even with my nice computer, it lags like a fucking BITCH. To the point the game is unplayable.
It gets a bit rediclous if you spam dense ores 50 times you'll get like ten stacks of diamond out it then the entire world will become too unstable to be in
Why would you turn instability off? Makes the game more interesting.
Have you ever stayed in a world that's decaying extensively? I was getting atrocious lag in one world (before I knew about decay) so I decided to check it in MCedit; there were literally thousands of falling blocks surrounding the decay zones. I had to go and edit them all out just so that I could walk to my home base and escape. Also, someone mentioned that this is for Technic, but not Tekkit? I could have sworn it was SMP-compatible, I wonder why it's not in Tekkit.
hell yeah, I plan to use this mod and roleplay as Achenar, slowly going absolutely bonkers in some strange world I shall build an epic pirate ship and build machinery around it also this mod needs more D'ni
The only thing I think this mod needs is pre-generated structures. (That is, if they aren't already in; I use an older version of the mod that's compatible with my other mods) It takes away some of the adventure feel when you create a world and it's just more terrain with some interesting features scattered about. That said, did you guys know that you can take your other saves and substitute them for different ages? I made a few throwaway ages then replaced them with some other worlds I had previously worked on, so that I could easily switch between them in one game.

The reason it is not compatible is because Mystcraft modifies the way the game/server handles world creation (it also touches 5-6 core files). Bukkit also has a unique way to handle multiple worlds. You can't have both systems running at once, it just doesn't work. However, with 1.3 singleplayer doesn't exist anymore. It is going to be interesting to see how it adapts. Hopefully it will become Bukkit compatible or something, considering it is already Forge compatible and all. If it doesn't, I don't think Mystcraft will survive. (I have researched into this, because I wanted to put this on my tekkit sever to play with my friends.)
also this mod needs more D'ni
Villages glyph.

One mod or the other is going to have to budge, and I doubt it'll be Bukkit.
Does this work for multiplayer on 1.3?
Does this work for multiplayer on 1.3?
It's not even out for 1.3 yet.
Made a spotlight video: It's still uploading at the moment pls add to op
This mod is really amazing. But I just want the random world thing.
I never thought about this, but reading some of the initial posts on here and the MCforum got me thinking: Do people use this mod without actually knowing what Myst is? I was super-stoked when I saw that there was a Myst mod for Minecraft, but it seems to me that some people just think it's a simple multiverse mod.

Never heard of Myst before this mod myself.
Aye. Never heard of Myst before this mod myself.
You can hardly blame people though, for not knowing about a point-and-click adventure game from the 90s, but it just kind of disappointed me.
