That shit was awesome. I remember when my friend and I were playing (we each had separate houses) and his fireplace went horribly wrong. It burned down his house, and a tree was attached. Shortly after the whole fucking forest was gone. Sure it kinda lagged, but it was so much more realistic and so much better. It was removed because instead of optimizing it, the better solution is to cap it. (Yeah well I very much wish fire could spread like before :( )
My friend hosted a small server for the two of us, and on one of the worlds, we decided to work together. We built a small hiding hole to survive the night, then I went and cut some trees down to make a simple home. Now at this point I was trying to make my buildings aesthetically appealing other than being simple cobblestone castles. I decided that this house would be made of would and look like an actual house. A while later after I'd completed the house and tree/wheat/sugarcane/cactus farm. My friend goes on about how we have no cobblestone. I said I'd go and quarry some out and he said he'd try and make a cobblestone generator. So I left hoping nothing would go wrong. Sure enough, as I came walking back up the steps he'd built it into the wall of the house and within seconds of it's first use, the walls of the house I'd work so hard to build, were on fire, needless to say I was ticked that I'd had to fill it in with dirt as night was falling, but I eventually repaired it. Lightning would burn it a second time, destroying my new patio. I wouldn't think it would be hard to mod spreadable fire back in though. Back to Mystcraft, I'm hoping for some more unique generation like the wooden tendrils and crystals. Perhaps glacial worlds of ice would be nice. I wouldn't mind the End or the Nether being viable biomes to select from, of course, only as biomes, it wouldn't be fair to just generate the End or Nether as ages, but their biomes would be appreciable to me as viable choices. Lava ocean would also be a nice feature too. But it looks like biomes and terrain are fairly limited as only to what the game already has. It also seems to lack ravines as a terrain choice.
Anyone got a server that hosts this?
I just teleported to an age where all the land is checkerboarded in two different biome-colored grass and nether mobs are enabled. Dear god someone help me
Play chess with them.
Play chess with them.
They're destroying the board. I guess ghasts just don't like chess then.
They're destroying the board. I guess ghasts just don't like chess then.
You're just playing chess with the wrong rules. It's time to step things up a notch.
Right, the generator seems to have crapped out on me today, it's generating pretty much identical worlds several times in a row, and also a few empty worlds with no blocks except a single smoothstone block you spawn on top of.

This world is hard to navigate during the day. Then there's this ocean here. And for this world I just threw every symbol I had in besides void.
This mod is exceptionally good at creating dimensions of utter clusterfuck.
I just teleported to an age where all the land is checkerboarded in two different biome-colored grass and nether mobs are enabled. this mod looks awesome. and just for clarification, those symbols on the first page are the symbols used in Myst III Exile to describe each of the "training" ages Atrus made. damn I love Myst
It seems this mod plays on things from later Myst games, I only have the first one, so could someone fill me in?
It seems this mod plays on things from later Myst games, I only have the first one, so could someone fill me in?
D'ni numerical system was introduced in Riven. Arc symbol fragments were introduced as part of the final puzzles in Myst III. The description of each lesson age (EG: Voltaic was "Energy Powers Future Motion") was later broken down into a series of symbols. [thumb]http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs19/f/2007/277/5/7/Symbols_of_Narayan_by_Killberk.png[/thumb]
And you needed to place each of those symbols on a projector to be able to link to Narayan, the final Age in Myst III. There, you found Saavedro on the glide ship and had to [sp]trap him between the shields so he'd give you the Releeshahn linking book, then let him go to his people[/sp]
Anyone know what the difference is between Extreme Hills and Extreme Hills Edge? [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] dear god what did i do to deserve this
Anyone know what the difference is between Extreme Hills and Extreme Hills Edge?
Let's see what the wiki says:
Extreme Hills Oak Trees, Grass, Flowers, Emerald Ore. A highly mountainous biome (with some mountains reaching over y=100) with dull gray-blue grass and a few scattered oak trees. Cliffs, peaks, valleys, waterfalls, overhangs, floating islands and lavafalls (not very likely), and many other structures exist, creating outstanding views. More underground cave systems are present here than in any other biome. Falling is a significant risk, as there are many ledges and sudden drops, often not visible, and the drops can be large enough to cause severe fall damage or even death. Extreme Hills are the only biome where Emerald Ores spawn. Cows are the most common passive mob in this biome.

Extreme Hills Edge Acts as a fringe between mountains and most other biomes.
So basically Extreme Hills Edge is just Extreme Hills with lower terrain.
This biome specific ores thing is good for this mod, now of only I could lock the book so nothing can be added after I write it, I'd like to have an sky jungle without any breaks in between.

Hey, I remember this. I played it on MP with Flak once. I should really get back into minecraft, shouldn't I?
Hmm. I wonder if you can get an ender dragon to fly into a star fissure..
Sky islands + Caveworld :v:
Hmm. I wonder if you can get an ender dragon to fly into a star fissure..
Couldn't you just build a large portal yourself?
Couldn't you just build a large portal yourself?
Entities such as pigs don't respond to the mystcraft portals in Ages due to a zillion compatibility issues, if I remember correctly.
Entities such as pigs don't respond to the mystcraft portals in Ages due to a zillion compatibility issues, if I remember correctly.
I've pushed a mooshroom through a mystcraft portal before.
Entities such as pigs don't respond to the mystcraft portals in Ages due to a zillion compatibility issues, if I remember correctly.
In the new snapshots, Dinnerbone added the ability for entities to travel through Nether Portals. So maybe in 1.4, Mystcraft could include that function.
In the new snapshots, Dinnerbone added the ability for entities to travel through Nether Portals. So maybe in 1.4, Mystcraft could include that function.
It already has that function. I've pushed mobs through loads of times and I've thrown items through as well.
Yeah mystcraft portals have supported entities for a while now
Been playing on a server with 3 other friends. Shit's awesome, we've explored 4-5 worlds each. I generated a flat desert world with permasun and dense ores. We quarried an 8x8 area and got over 100 diamonds and a chest of cobble. More quarrying shall occur and then we're going to build a gigantic library in a voidworld which will contain every linking book we create. A library of ages. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/516743/minecraft/2012-07-31_13.08.55.png[/thumb] Holy shit just found this world and had to share it. I'm making my house here later.
i wonder how much damage 1 flint and tinder can do
