• MystCraft - Trapped in the plane of infinite mushrooms for eternity
Accelerated does affect instability, but at a considerably minor rate compared to, for example, dense ores. Also accelerated does affect all decay instabilities, but not potions effects. Accelerated is good for farming because it affects how quickly the tilled dirt gets watered and how quickly the given crop grows (including the growth of the melon/pumpkin block, not just the stem). It also affects how fast grass and mycellium spread to dirt blocks. [editline]4th December 2012[/editline] I really wish the Mystcraft wiki was more well documented over what symbol does what, including technical details, rather than trying to be mysterious and telling you to go figure it out yourself. It's fun at first but it took me forever to figure out Charged actually had nothing to do with creepers.
I think the author is usually forthcoming with technical information if you post a comment on the Mystcraft thread in the MCforums, but I agree. Technical information is always nice. ...That said, though, I was able to figure out how information for books and ages is stored in NBT data.
fucking nausea, it's like the worlds have a 50% chance of including it? i swear it's super common and ruins so many cool ages
Recently I created an untouched age that was dark, constantly snowing, caused nausea, eternally night, and skylands. What ground I could see was littered with holes to the void. I high-tailed it out of that world SO fast.

In terms of content, though, I generated this nice little age (the picture quality isn't as nice as I'd hoped and I forgot that I had nuked the scenic village so nothing from there):
I would so build a house there. You should build a house there.
I would so build a house there. You should build a house there.
I began setting up shop in the village I mentioned, but in the version of the save that I was taking pictures in, I had used it as a missile testing range so there wasn't really much left to show off. Also, when I was writing it, I was about to name it "Skyfall" because of the floaty islands and the autumn trees, but then I remembered that was already kind of taken and opted for "Autumnhang".
You should be able to stack together Single Biome symbols to specify how many biomes you actually want, rather than going for an Autumn Woods and Plains world, and also getting Jungle, Ice Plains and Desert alongside it. [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] Also really dissapointed that biome blocks are unsupported sans mushroom isles. The inability to generate Netherrack or White Stone coated worlds is more than a little dissapointing.

I think he's working on it slowly, but yeah I totally want a gigantic normal world but instead of grasas and dirt there's just rock and netherrack and there's nothin but lava as a liquid.
I can get mystcraft and extrabiomes xl to work together perfectly, except I have no idea how to get the custom textures from extrabiomes to show up. I've found a .png containing the new textures, but no idea what to do with it. I installed them both through forge.
Symbols for colored grass and leaves would be cool.
I'm currently trying to get MystCraft 3.0, the lastest version of Thaumcraft, and ExtraBiomes XL to work together on forge, but ExtraBiomes seems to break the game and it crashes before it can get past the Mojang splash. Mystcraft and Thaumcraft run fine together. Is there something special I have to do to get these to work ? I've looked up videos on how to install ExtraBiomes and followed them to the letter. I can post the error log if needed, I wasn't ready to clutter up the thread with a big ass wall of text [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] maybe I should look through the thread first wow I'm stupid. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] wait no help :c [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] Minecraft 1.4.5 Extra Biomes XL Universal 3.5.0 Mystcraft Universal 1.4.4-0.9.4.05 Thaumcraft3.0.0f MCP v7.23 Minecraft Forge 6.4.1.411
I've been having the same problem with ExtraBiomes and Mystcraft alone.
I feel bad for everyone getting EBXL and Mystcraft incompatibility, because they go together well and I seem to have struck upon some fortuitous combination of compatible downloads when I first installed them. Edit: For the curious, and if it helps, it's this (I posted it a page or so back): MC Forge version 6.4.0.397 EBXL version 3.5.0a Mystcraft version 0.9.4.05
I have all of those same versions, except for my EBXL is 3.5.0b. Mine works, but I can't see any of the custom textures (they're just replaced with default textures), for some reason. I found the textures for them in the EBXL.jar, but I have no idea how to get them to show up in-game. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] What the hell :c

[editline]7th December 2012[/editline] ExtraBiomes works by itself, as does Mystcraft, but together they seem to conflict somehow
It's probably the block ids overlapping. I changed mine and it works perfect, except I can't see exbls custom textures.
Which block IDs did you change? If you change xbls block IDs try changing Mystcrafts' instead, or vice versa [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] Also is the lack of textures everywhere, or only in Ages/only in the Overworld?
It's everywhere. They're just replaced with the defaults. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] It's nothing huge it's just like, the trees don't have custom textures like I know some should in EBXL, they're all just different kinds of vanilla wood. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] I changed EBXL's block id's
I keep generating ages with mining fatigue :(
I keep generating ages with mining fatigue :(
I once generated an age basically designed for mining, with caverns and dense ores, and it decided to load it with MF III. The delay between swings was absurd.

Huh? Mystcraft generated water like this.
Huh? Mystcraft generated water like this.
It generates using Water Still blocks that require a block update to get them to work. Water flowing into Water Stills can update them and cause them to properly flow.
Oh my god. I just got this mod, and it's been a hell of a time. I made a study room for the ages I was writing, and for the unwritten ones I experimented with. Eventually I had written too many for the lecterns with lined the walls in my basement study, and I had to expand. I made a hall underground which had a hallway lined with lecterns, each with their own unique age. Only the best ages made it to display, the failed experiments and corrupted ages cast aside for reference, fated to spend their existence in a cramped chest with the other rejects. Then I found crystals. I had an idea, I would make a village world, with plains and deserts so that I may enter that world and grow a village. I would use the crystals to get around the place. Then I screwed up. I got to a village, and set up a crystal portal. I put in a linking book to my overworld, but then as I stepped in and zipped away it hit me. I forgot to link back to the village. I quickly hopped back into the portal I had made into "The Age of Villages", aptly named. As I popped into the stone platform from the first time I visited, I realized I had made a fatal mistake. I did not bring a linking book. Now here I am, wandering endlessly for the portal I created. I hope that nothing has happened to it, for if anything has, I am stranded forever. I'll see how everything goes tomorrow.

Success! I have found my linking book and established trading with the locals. I have started to expand their settlement in exchange for food and resources from them. That was too close. From now on I carry 3 links at all times.
Should get some Intra(yes it's supposed to be Inter but he hasn't fixed this yet) Age Linking Books that follow you as well.
Intra: Inside, within Inter: outside, between. Think interstate and intrastate. So yes, intra-age (within age) linking is accurate.
Oh whoops. I'm still thinking backwards because when Dire did his mod review it was reversed.

Mystcraft generated a void age with endstone in it.
