Red and Blue are the snobby older twins that fight for attention while Green gets constantly beat and picked on by Red and Blue in a corner.

So I'm basically stuck in TI-84 language mode, I forgot everything java
How am I shitting up your thread? I am just stating my opinion on the matter of whitelist or not for this server. Is this not a community project? If so please tell me and I will stop giving my opinion but as I see it your asking for contributions so I am giving mine.
Also even with 10 admins on the server 24/7 you're still going to have someone who ruins the fun for everyone else.
The Whitelist is a necessary precaution to stop the hordes of idiots who roam the wonderful cyberscape that is the internet. Getting onto the server will be relatively painless if you genuinely want to play.

Participate on our forums, keep an eye on the contribution section of the forums to see if any relevant openings come up that apply to your skillset.
If you've got ideas for stuff, post them on the forums!

So people are expected to Roleplay, what happens when they don't? In-game punishments like forced labour, imprisonment and executions or moderator punishments like kicks and bans?

In accordance to Red Nation Regulation 1200234A, section 221C, your lack of characterization will result in your immediate relocation to a nearby concentration camp. There will be cake.

When I say Roleplay, I mean acting in character - as a citizen of a nation. I wouldn't expect people to act out their every action in astericks or whatever. They can if they want, but I'm just looking for minimal participation.

I know, but people not acting like citizens. Building whatever structures they like instead of stylised ones, not participating in any faction activities, speaking completely out of character all the time, generally playing it like normal SMP instead of roleplay.

They'll probably be warned a few times and then removed from the whitelist. They're there to enjoy the server for what it is. If they want to do that they can do it on a separate server.

Will there be certain times where we can not roleplay?
Casual fridays? :v:

Probably not. All I'm asking is that people consider their actions to be in character before carrying them out. It's not very in depth role play at all and is incredibly basic. Since you're a citizen you can act nearly any way you want as long as it makes sense. I.E not using a lava bucket to randomly burn down buildings, or building massive tall 1x1 dirt towers.

What would happen in the following scenario:
Let's say you're a miner, and recent success in discovering more then one large cluster of diamonds have propelled you into wealth and success. Elated, you decide to get rid of the hovel you were living in and have a fancy villa with all the furnishings that come with success.
Since we have architects and construction crews as legitimate careers, does this mean this miner has to hire the services of a crew to tear down his old house and build a new one (after the architect designs a layout, of course) or will he be perfectly able to buy the materials and do it himself?
We haven't really thought that far ahead to be honest. However, I would say that he will be able to do it himself if he wanted to. It'd just be easier to get an architect + construction crew I guess
I can see great leaders clad in diamond armour. the lowly serfs that volunteer in poor leather with a few wielding Iron swords. as the two sides meet a lowly forester looks on, neighbours fighting neighbours, He smiles, and brings his wood to his small shack to light his fire as he lights his pipe.

Not sure if it works for 1.3.01 but there it is for 1.3 and i'm too lazy to move the flags around again to check.

Then a raiding party of iron-clad mercenaries set buildings ablaze and slice citizens to bits as they spew out all of their items onto the floor, ready for the taking. It will only be a matter of time until small villages become desolate and lay in ruin because of raiding and pillaging. The great part is that each nation will be the perpetrator of every other nation's demise.

Medieval mutually assured destruction.
ok
Oh god we're roleplaying aren't we.
Drought. The sound of this desecrating word pierced the farmer's ears, grabbing at his eardrums and stabbing them with a dull needle with its scrawny black hands. The ground was cracked and emotionless, the tears offered no relief. The distraught farmer knew that the Blue nation to the north had some part in this havoc. Consequently, the drought that had plagued the ground and farmer alike had caused the malevolent saboteurs an equal amount of grief. Food was scarce, many people died from the lack of nutrition, standing in the frigid snowdrift, waiting for their food stamps. The farmer lived fairly close to the border between the nations, and the sun was fading, along with the beating sun. He called out to his wife, "Margaret, let's get inside." The lugubrious silence caused the farmer to turn the corner around the creaking shed. The horror left a terrorizing blankness in the farmers head: Bones and guts, discarded in a corner. Everything was gone. Not one more squeal from Margeret. Not even one bacon drop. It was in vain. "They've killed my wife."

Now that I think about it, I would love it if somebody built me a house, even if I paid them. Building houses has gotten slightly tedious to me.
This has been asked a few times, with kind of vague responses.
When we're looking at being a Citizen, does that mean we all have to actively contribute in things like building the towns and infrastructure, or be involved in wars?
Some people prefer a solitary life, say living in a meager yurt or small village (<4 houses) and making do with what resources you can harvest from your small area of land, and whilst participating in occasional roleplay like say being a shaman or a crazed murderer who likes to kill any travelers who may wander past his humble abode and feast on their delicious corpses?
Hey yo, think I could get into the fun? I have some ideas for roleplaying. I really want a fun RP community to play with. I tend to contribute as much to the RP as possible.
I tend to join the green faction. and my IGN is Crossu88.
I shall make it my personal quest as a red faction mercenary to take an inventory of diamond hoes and remove every fucking piece of grass in blue and green territory.
ENJOY YOUR BACON NOW FUCKERSSSSS
IS there only a closed test server yet?
Or is there a way to get on the whitelist?
This server looks so promising...
It should be a rule that red can't take seeds or saplings under risk of death or something
If not, they're just going to end up pillaging all the grass from the green area and all the trees from blue. And what are the other nations gonna do? Steal their rocks and lava? Ohhh noooooo
Just a small question, will the different nations in order to in keep with the RP be fighting with different styles? Just throwing this out there because we all know that Red nation are going to be clad in iron all the damn time and the lack of trees suggests that they will not be archers but more of a "warrrrahhhh me hit stuff!" type troops and it would be odd to see a bunch of Red archers blasting the walls of a Blue castle with arrows.
If somebody could elaborate on this if this is the case that would be nice indeed and help me plan out some designs for buildings.
blue should use guerrilla tactics
