IS there only a closed test server yet? Or is there a way to get on the whitelist? This server looks so promising...
It'll probably be a few weeks / A month before everything set up. Tomorrow will be the Media release, so expect to see something then at least.
blue should use guerrilla tactics
Blue should also use subterfuge and intrigue to play the green and reds off against each other. Maybe paying red and green Agent Provocateur. >:3 But they also should be played to be the weakest in a stand up fight.
I see red as a tough melee asshole, blue as a weak but tactical/sneaky asshole, and us Greenies as the archers of fucking death with our many stacks of arrows apparently. Red dominate in Melee basically Blue dominate in tactics basically Green dominate in arching. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] Also, what is the teamspeak channel?
Also, what is the teamspeak channel?
if you can't find it [sp]nationcraft forums[/sp] then you're not worthy
Arching?
They make good arches in towns.

I'm finding difficult trying to make the internal politics and economies of the red and blue differ significantly. Since a Police state, and a Military state are not too dissimilar. Sure, the Greens are practising a form of communism (well in reality it'll play more like Anarcho-syndicalism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-syndicalism), and common law. So they can, for example run a program where all material wealth gathered is split equally as possible between the contributing members, and cooperate in communal projects and building. And for politics they could host weekly votes on elected leaders (below the prince) for the week or what projects the nation wish to focus on, be it building a fortification surrounding the main town or increasing mining yields. But as we know, all men are equal... but some men are made more equal than others. So being a elected representative may offer you the opportunity to fiddle the statistics and provide yourself and your friends/voters with a greater 'equal' share. So adding some internal politics and corruption might be fun. So that nation looks like it can be played out nicely in minecraft. Now with both the Blues and Reds, their governments will have a more direct and arbitrary control over the nation. With orders going down the hierarchy and resources moving up from the 'masses' into state control. Perhaps the Reds can still have elected leaders? or ones that is proven to be the most martial (left button spamming) player in combat. Where as Blues will have an absolute leader chosen which has absolute control and can only be changed through internal intrigue or a coup. (So you better chose wisely guys) Since it is hinted at that the Blues will have greater access to the more valuable materials it will be important to artificially restrict the development of the blue military with shiny toys and armour so that it doesn't surpass the Red nation. So while it'll be tempting for the Blue leader to use the horde of gems and iron to make some badass fighting units they should RP correctly and perhaps use it to pay for spies/assassins/political bribes and other nefarious deeds.
I'd propose making Blue Nation closer to an Orwellian police state then a run-of-the-mill fascist regime.
Our arches will blot out the sun
I don't think greens should be an 'archer' nation de facto. They should either be one because it was an ingame decision to focus on that style of combat, or that natural resource collection provided more appropriate resources for bows and arrows over the other nations. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline]
I'd propose making Blue Nation closer to an Orwellian police state then a run-of-the-mill fascist regime.
I agree. Plus it should have a network of informers and agents keeping the population of 6 online civilians in check :v: Disagree with the Governors purposed city plan vocally? You'll get executed and/or stripped of your possessions. Rule with fear I say.
I reckon there should be castle sieges, by regulation each city should have a castle, With certain amounts of enterances, and set defences. For example each castle should have: no bigger than 10 blocks wide trench around it. atleist 2 double door entrances. No more than 4 archer towers. Maximum 5 blocks thick walls. Limited lava buckets. A loot chest, it should contain minimum amounts of resources from each faction. For example. Greens would have a chest full of clay, meat, arrows, and wool. Blues would have a chest full of wood, dirt, and saplings, maybe few water buckets. And reds would have some iron, obsidian and maybe other valuable materials, including lava buckets. So if you win against blues, you take their chest, but if they successfully defend you gotta give away your chestfull of items to them. Thinking that there should be one strongest castle per nation and smaller ones (With much smaller, regulated loot) for other towns. Ofcourse exact numbers would need to be adjusted according to server capacity, player activity and just in general a lot of factors.
To be honest, I don't care what faction I end up being in, as long as I'm a general store owner! You know, trading and things like that!
Is everyone looking forward to the media release tonight?
Oh yeah.

MEDIA RELEASE TOMORROW ARE YOUR BODIES READY? Or at least it's tomorrow here in EST, it's 7:20 over here.
What is NationCraft? It's a unique RP server that is currently in a testing phase. The story of NationCraft pits three distinct factions with their own culture and architecture against each other in a vast and compelling storyline created by the NationCraft staff. This story unfolds through weekly events organised and moderated by our team. We firmly believe that YOU should have a say in what happens. Not only in the story (allowing you to suggest events that will shape the entire story arc) but also in the developmental process, which is completely transparent and available for access. Backstory The skies were overcast, and the mood was foul. For the nations under the king, their world was about to be irrevocably changed. Governer Sichar, Prince Gabriel and General Belial stood at the bottom of the palace steps, awaiting the inevitable. The King had been fighting disease for months, but now he was drawing his final breath. Sichar shot a sideways glance to the Prince. 'This petulant child thinks he is fit to take the throne? I've been the ruling body over the townspeople and chief advisor to the king since before he knew how to use the toilet!' Prince Gabriel glared at the General, 'How dare he think he can rule! This is my birth right, I'm not about to pass it off to some glorified thug with a foul attitude.' Belial looked disapprovingly upon the Governer. 'This man is soft, he doesn't know what's best for the people, the people don't know what's best either! Military rule is the only thing that can save the nation, so that we may become an empire once again.' The silence was shattered as the king's nurse descended the stairs. "In God's name," she proclaimed, "The King is dead." The three men looked to her, then looked to each other and nodded. They each turned their backs on each other and left to find their respective manifesto. As the hours turned into days, and the days turned into weeks, a decision still could not be made on who should gain control of the kingdom. The underclasses were becoming restless and the entire nation was under threat of splitting apart. Prince Gabriel wanted things to return to how they were under the old king's rule, all would be cared for and all men would be able to live under a roof together as equal. Sichar wanted to progress his nation immediately, the weak would be treated as such, granted lesser accomodation and allowed meager food rations, whereas the mighty would benefit greatly if they could prove their excellence. General Belial saw problems with both of these plans, instead plotting to establish a new form of law amongst the people. By heavily regimenting the actions and activities of the people he will grant their loyalty and trust. It would be a perfect plan to reduce crime and increase efficiency, yet for some reason Gabriel and Sichar took offence to it. The kingdom was on the verge of civil war, and with no ruler the three leaders assumed control of their own various provinces and began mounting their forces. As he was the rightful heir to the throne, Prince Gabriel was granted the lush green hills and valleys of the Westerlund province, fertile as they were with trees, natural crops and wildlife. The Governer called the Svendich province his home. At first glance it was a hostile environment, almost entirely blanketed in snow, but below the frigid surface a vast variety of natural resources could be found. The General was not so lucky with his province, the Ester regions were barren and treacherous with lava flows and sharp jagged rocks coating the landscape. Although it lacked the basic raw materials for growth and culture, Belial couldn't help but smile at his glorious nation, even walking from one's bedroom to the town hall would be considered an exercise. "We'll make an army of you yet" he said to himself, "Just you see". Nations - The Great Regency of States (Green) Prince Gabriel belongs to the green realm, Westerlund.
