I really really like this. It's 16x16 right? The cobblestone itself could be a bit darker to fit all the nations, but I really like how it's nicely defined, has character, isn't noisy and isn't too far off from the general minecraft feel. That should really be the goal with all the textures, otherwise they should just fit the feel of the skins/flags (cause that's the only base for visual style right now).
Also I forgot to mention that armor needs to cover almost none of the skin, so that you can still tell whether or not someone is a soldier. For example leather is shoes, a belt, shoulder pads and a bandana. Diamond is boots, greaves (like long kneepads pretty much), a belt/groin armor, shoulder plates and a headpiece that only covers the top half of the head.

This looks good in its own way, but it's a lot more flat than everything else we've got and could take up less space on the skin.

Yeah, it's 16x16. I never even consider texture packs that are any higher than that, partially because I don't like the look of most of them but mainly because it's a right pain to have patch them.

I really like yours, it's got a rather "cartoony" look about it.
I can certainly see it's appeal, I'm sure you'd find people on here or on the minecraft forums who'd use it as their default texture pack if you managed to finish it.
I personally think gold armour shouldn't look very protective, but very royal/smart. This is because gold armour is infact very weak, but rare. Then kings and so-forth can wear gold armour to show their power. Just an idea...

I made this little torture instument for Blue.

It's a 3 block high pyramid with a hole in the middle. It should probably be made out of obsidian or bedrock, but I made it out of glass for demonstration purposes.
The criminal, political activist or someone else you want to get information from is forced into the hole and stripped for all items, with no way of getting out.

Then you put a water spring over his head. Make sure you put a block over the water to prevent the person inside from swimming out of there.
When the person starts making pain sounds (which means his oxygen meter has been depleted, making him lose hearts), remove the water.
Now ask him what you need to know. If he refuses to answer, do it again.
Repeat until he dies or he gives you the information you need.

Latency, do you have any nationcraft player skins that other people could use?
This server could of been up within a week of it being announced if you all didn't faff about with pointless alpha/beta tests which hardly go on anyway

Nobody wants to launch or play a buggy, skeletal version of this. If you actually care, you should be thanking the active alpha testers who give good feedback. They're the ones making sure you get a good experience at launch.

I suppose you could throw the guy in jail after a while of interrogation to let him heal up and get ready for the next round.
There are probably better ways to torture people in Minecraft too, I just thought that since Blue is supposed to be a police state,
they would probably have secret police or something, and they would need a way to squeeze out some information from people.

I have absolutely no clue but MySQLi is an "improved" version of MySQL. Something on the website might require it, but it's not installed. Seems to fit the error message.

I've had this happen to me before mate, It's basically because JWJ moved the webservers around, the SQL databases are kind of having a bit of a freak out, I may know how to fix it, I'm going to need access to the cPanel though.
The problem is on JWJ's end, he hasn't installed MySQLi so he's putting it on soon.
