There is some strange stuff happening. I'm not sure if i'm the only one with this issue but a poster got sent to me in April and it still hasn't shown up. I sent an e-mail in June asking if something wen't wrong and Mary answered that she sent me a new one (yes, she is that awesome). But the second one hasn't arrived either... I double checked and i'm sure i gave her the right address. I contacted my post office and i was required to fill in a form so that they could see what's going on, but that probably won't change anything( iv'e had some really bad experience with my post office + mailman). I'm not gonna send her another mail as i feel way to bad and sending a third poster(which i expect she would do) would make me feel even worse about the situation. I really hope that it shows up.

I don't understand why people write this. You have to be incredibly talanted to work there, have 4+ years of experience as written on their site and even if you'll end up working for them, why should it matter to anyone at Valve right now? This sentence doesn't hold any information in it.

I didn't intend to give them much information about me, I just wanted to act as a semi-anonymous fan who hopes to join them one day, and knowing that he would be happy to read about people being motivated to join them.

I also read in a recent interview from Gabe Newell that the 3/4+ years of experience is mainly aimed to discourage those who would come at Valves with "ideas" but nothing else.

Now that said, I've been using Source SDK for 4 years, and been praised for some of my creations.
-I created [url=http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1094740]a gigantic TF2 map set in the Super Meat Boy universe[/url] meant to be played as a 3D platformer in the spirit of the original game. Even the makers of SMB congratulated me for building it.
-I designed [url=steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1491]a Workshop weapon[/url] that even though it hasn't yet been added to the game stayed on page 1 for several days during the first weeks of the TF2 Workshop.
-I made [url=http://tf2stats.net/map/vsh_Hakurei_Shrine_v3/]one of the most popular VS Saxton Hale maps for TF2[/url]

and [url=http://gamebanana.com/members/submissions/skins/788307]many[/url] other [url=http://www.youtube.com/user/Fierce0Deity0Link/videos]things[/url] that are not enough related to this topic for me to keep posting them.
(I sent a mail to Robin Walker about the troubles I had to fit enough entities in my SMB map to which he gave me some advices to replace them)

So I could be trying harder, but I'm still trying hard. And my mail to Jay was only aimed to make him happy, not to expose all my wannabe skills.

I emailed Mary to tell her that I'd emailed Gabe and the TF2 and Portal teams, to say thank you fro coming to my University to give lectures on game development within Valve, and then recieved an auto email back saying she was holiday.

However, not 10 minutes later, I recieved another from her email and lo and behold she'd taken the time to email back in person to say she'd pass my message onto all of them and how they value me as such a big fan.

I feel so warm and fuzzy inside :3
