Never got a response from Gabe Newell.
My only email to Robin Walker resulted in the TF2 team signing a poster I ordered.

Tell Gabe to send an email to Shaun saying that if he doesn't like valve, they will come over to him.
Let him try to get a personal response from blizzard and see him fail.

Gabe waddles out, burps. This causes the crowd to go wild, clapping as hard as they can.
Gabe then farts causing the crowd to go ballistic, screaming and cheering him on. Gabe then proceeds to eat his mic.
The crowd's eyes and ears start bleeding profusely as the space above Gabe tears apart and an elder god appears!
Gabe says "Welcome to Episode 3!" As the crowd starts tearing each others limbs apart blood gushing everywhere as the elder god bows down to Gabe to listen to his command to end the earth forever

He is responding to my emails every time, but he won't say anything about that autograph he promised.
Something big will hit the fan.
Last response I got from Gabe was when I reported to him about 2-3 years ago that someone was selling HL2 Models on a 3D model site I do not have a copy of the e-mail.

I just sent off a huge mail to Valve in general, thanking them for the ARG and Portal 2. I'll post it when I get a reply.
I really want to send Valve an email. I'm just... I dunno, shy? They're my game developer idols, afterall.
And I don't have any good topics to write about.

I sent him my first emails this way, so no worries.
Sometimes he will respond instantly, sometimes after a week, maybe even a month. Just wait.

Responding for emails, and keeping contact with fans, is actually a part of his job.
He will never say "No", he may not respond if he sent enough free things at the time though.
Just give it a try, I'm sure the result will be worth it.
