Yeah, feedback is important, you should prove you're a fan and not some random person asking for free crap. Doesn't really matter how you start the letter but I think it's better to be more informal. To send pictures, just attach them to your email.
Just sent one to Mary, told her about how she is one of the nicest persons on Valve since I have been reading the Facepunch thread, and stuff like that yadda yadda. And then I asked for something signed by her. I hope for a quick response

I did something similar.
She ignored the whole compliment part and the reply only contained info if I'd be fine with a saxton hale print.

I've written almost a full site in Microsoft word. I wrote about using Steam, my favorite parts in their games, their soundtracks, what I like about Valve and so on.

All I know is he has a FP account, a youtube account used to post valve-related funstuffs, and during the Portal 2 ARG, there was a secret message in one of the vids posted on the valve account that read "superdinoman's mom"
I might ask who superdinoman is in an email.

superdinoman is a user here on FP who had a constantly running joke with PersonGuy about his mom

I would have him put it in however it is formatted when sending mail through German mail, or ask either Mary, or German postal service.
