I'm loving the multiplayer (level 5), only the "sluggish movement" is in the singleplayer, and isn't really that much of a problem once you get used to it.
I've only played this on the 360, but that also had look acceleration. Does the PC version have a mouse acceleration option in settings? Turning it to 10 should fix that
Well the good news is that it looks great and runs great. Didn't expect that from Rockstar but hey I'm not complaining.
la noire wasnt that great anyway
So far, I'm loving the way Max interacts with the environment while shootdodging. I accidentally jumped into this position, and it worked as an effective form of cover against a few enemies :v: [editline]1st June 2012[/editline] Oh, and this game is running great on my 5770. Only thing is that I need to disable MSAA and tesselation.
I'm in love with this game, just completed chapter 2. I'm not very good at the game though.
I have to say, I rented the console version (PS3) and played the game until halfway through, and I'm glad I did. I told myself I wouldn't complete the story until the PC was released. The game runs beautifully on my laptop and looks so much better than the console version. For reference sake, I'm running it on a ASUS G73S. (i7@ 2GHz, 8GB RAM, nVidia 460m). I'm playing on all high settings with very high textures, excluding tessellation and MSAA. It runs at 60fps and has only dipped to 30fps during very heavy scenes. I've just completed the first chapter and I have to say this game was meant for PC. The control you have on PC just isn't fully realized on a controler and the satisfaction is just the same when I first played Max Payne 1 and 2. Rockstar has proved they can port the RAGE engine and make it look fantastic on a decent range of hardware. Congratulations everyone, we've finally made it. Max is finally home.
I wonder why it refuses to start.
So. If you got a strange ass " YOU NEED SERVIVE PACK 1 " or some shit error, go in the Max Payne 3 folder, find the main .exe, and run it in Windows Vista SP1 compatibility mode. Go back to Steam and launch the game, should work. I don't even know why i got such a crap issue since i'm on Windows 7 with SP1, but that fixed it. Otherwise, what's the point of the MSAA if i already activated the FXAA ?
man screenshots make the game look so much worse than it does
couldn't resist watching some pc gameplay hnnnggg
man screenshots make the game look so much worse than it does
Not at all. Maybe the screenshots that you've seen were taken while the graphics options weren't set to the highest. Because the screenies I've seen of the game look fantastic, including console.
the screenshots still look bad in comparison to how the game actually looks in game, is what I mean.. the skin, the clothing etc, it all looks absolutely fantastic in game, in screenshots they all seem to look a bit... well, a lot more like what gta iv looked like in motion if that makes sense?
If you got crashes at launch or SP1 error issues set the fucking .exe in Windows Vista SP1 compatibility mode. Thank me later. Otherwise i got 120 FPS all the time maxed out everywhere in DX11 ( without MSAA, i don't see the point of activating BOTH FXAA and MSAA ). Shit is glorious.
Ok, I am so glad they included this. This topped it off, this is a Max Payne game. The console versions do not have this. (That I know of)
Goddamnit, it won't start, the exe appears in task manager for a second and then just vanishes. Tried restarting steam, tried verifying integrity, tried running the .exe itself, nothing.
Tried my tip... ?
Same shit.
Somehow I've managed to log-in to my other R* account so, I'm re-submitting my entry to the Facepunch crew Name: TheEvilPengy I keep getting request failed, anyway for someone to send me a manual invite
Oh crap. I left Max Payne 3 accidentally open in the background. It will screw up my game time :smith:
Oh crap. I left Max Payne 3 accidentally open in the background. It will screw up my game time :smith:
Does it really matter?
Same shit.
Dunno then.
Fuck sake. I left this downloading overnight, turns out windows decided an update needed to be installed. 21 GB to go.
I need to save up some money and buy this soon...
Does it really matter?
yes
If the game use the same old .rpf file format like GTA IV, there's 90 % of chance that the game will be moddable.
I would love there to be custom maps. Possibly other mods like vehicles and different enemies, and if any of that were to happen... MAX PAYNE RUNNING AROUND IN LIBERTY CITY ROBBING BANKS. Somebody please make it happen. [editline]1st June 2012[/editline] inb4 optimistic
Don't dream too much, the mods on GTA IV were " very " limited, it was mainly scripts, textures, vehicles and weapons mods. Not some kind of Max Payne 2 total conversion mods. Will be probably be the same for MP3, but the perspective of new weapons or random funny scriptmods still feels great to me.
Just woke up and the game was sticking in my letterbox when I usually don't get any mail for another 6 hours. Time to pop some painkillers (after I get through these 4 cds).
Also, that quit screen's phrase changes each time you quit. With different Quit and Cancel phrases as well. I enjoy the little details Rockstar has added to keeping this a true Max Payne game.
