Just bought it. How long do you reckon it will take me to download if I have a constant DL speed of 600KB/s
when it starts downloading it will tell you how much time is left.
My preorder troubles continue. After waiting 2 days for a refund, I switched to retail preorder (GameStop). I get there nice and early, 10:15.
Then they tell me the game isn't even in yet. How? It was supposed to be released originally on Tuesday here. And they don't even have the game by Friday.
Never use Gamestop for PC games.
Did you guys get the Rockstar pass? It's 30 bucks ffs, more than half the price of the game...
I don't know what's better, SSAO or HDAO. What should I be using for best quality?

Uhh to be fair, it works for plenty of people. There's always bugs on certain setups that are hard to anticipate. Cut them some slack, they'll fix it swiftly I'm sure.
Cut them some slack it's a multi-million company business we're talking about. But yeah it's not like I can stop them from cheering drinks over the weekend and "see ya'gain on monday at the studio guyz!"

I try not to, but the game is 29 GB and GameStop is the closest store to me.
They don't even have a time for when they expect them in. Just "later today". Definitely the last time I go there.

If you have a credit card you could have should have used Amazon.
If you don't have a credit card, then ok.
Unskippable cutscenes is the most stupid idea ever.
Ever.
to be fair, we don't have to wait 6 months for a pc release, and it works for a lot of people, mistakes happen and things that can't possibly be anticipated, people not being able to even play the game due to some small over-looked mistake which doesn't cause any issues on their test systems happens, I mean, you gotta keep in mind if it worked on every system they installed it on then it'd be automatically assumed to work, a lot can happen when it comes time to actually publish the game though..

A multi-million company full of hard working people just like you and me, only a small team of which is dedicated to max payne 3, an even smaller team working around the clock i'm sure doing bug squishing.
I keep crashing after the first screen of text, no errors or anything.
I can't even get to the main menu :C
Any fixes?
Question to anyone who's been able to play - have you been able to get past the cemetery flashback, where you're ambushed by mobsters? I get a gamebreaking crash here, every time. Interesting to know whether anyone is able to get past it or whether it's just affecting me.

Haha wow, I've been through that with plenty of different fixes but nothing worked. Now I installed newest drivers and gonna see if it still crashes. After that I'm out of ideas.
There is also a crack-hax way of doing it, I failed in that. Maybe you have better luck.

inb4 i run into all of these crashes as well when i finally get my game running past the opening text.
9 more gbs to go.... woo. I hope the decryption in the middle of 10 GBs won't fuck with my game once It's finished downloading.
Hahahah. If I had only installed the newest drivers like... HOURS ago.. Oh man it worked.
[editline]1st June 2012[/editline]
Crashing to desktop @ opening text about trademarks; download latest (nvidia for me) drivers and that might just do it!

Probably my favorite killcam I've had so far.
Weirdest problems I've had. After randomly getting past the game's unwillingness to get past those credit screens, I then had my cursor refuse to go invisible, so it was distracting me in game and in the menus I had two cursors. Now my game consistently crashes whenever I press escape.
Weeeird. Anyways at this point I'm not going to get anywhere, not because of these annoying errors, but because I'm too busy jumping into things and generally toying with the physics.
It crashes the moment I open it.
Wow! What an awesome use of $60!

Try saving yourself some trouble and download the newest graphix drivers.
Here's the mighty question I've been waiting for while my preload's at 87%; still the checkpoints from the console version or does the PC version allow for quicksaves/quickloads?
Just bought the game, because it took them 2 additional weeks to release it on PC for some god damn reason, and it's not working. Actually, it worked ONCE, right after I installed the newest gpu drivers. I got up to the intro, then did the mistake of quitting the game because now I can't relaunch it back. It always crashes during one of the splash screens and refuses to go any further than this.
Completed the game about an hour ago, worked flawlessly for me. Multiplayer seems a bit buggy though.
I'm starting to hate this game. Why the fuck safe-mode works, yet the normal mode refuses to go past first splash screen no matter where I unstall it or whatever I do to it. It started once, though, I dunno what I did, but then I was stupid enough to change graphics settings and exit the game. It went silent again after that.

Well you're lucky, mine doesn't even want to fucking work in safe mode. How did they fuck this up.
Well, I managed to get to the splash screen by following these instructions

But like him, it crashes soon after.
decryption is stuck at 2%
:suicide:
How many people not getting the steam version working have it on a drive other then C? There is a theory going around if it isn't installed on C, that is why it isn't working.

Nevermind, didn't see "steam version"
Updated Drives, Restarted Steam, Verified Cache, moved it to my external hard-drive.
Nothing.

Why would that matter for the steam version and not matter for the non-steam version? (Non-steam, running on F:)
Getting it now, hope it's worth the 25GBs he kit has. Never seen a game of this size before...
