Why would that matter for the steam version and not matter for the non-steam version? (Non-steam, running on F:)
I don't know, I've just seen posts of people saying that it isn't working on one computer on another drive, but working fine on another computer on C:
Whoever got the game fully working, share your fix technique, don't be selfish and let them suffer
Whoever got the game fully working, share your fix technique, don't be selfish and let them suffer
Are there any issues with the game at the moment?
Unskippable cutscenes is the most stupid idea ever. Ever.
They are skippable. Press enter and some text should be on the bottom right saying "still loading", but loading takes quite some time.
Are there any issues with the game at the moment?
90% of the people cant start the game/Cant play the game. Why does this always happen to me? Every game I have ever preloaded on steam does this shit.
Are there any issues with the game at the moment?
Didn't play it yet, got the game preloaded and planning on playing after school.. before running, I want to make sure is all ready before running it
Didn't play it yet, got the game preloaded and planning on playing after school.. before running, I want to make sure is all ready before running it
Alright, good thing is that I didn't buy it yet. I hope they didn't screw the PC version as they did with GTA4...
Everyone:-Snip-
Never mind :( [editline]1st June 2012[/editline]
Alright, good thing is that I didn't buy it yet. I hope they didn't screw the PC version as they did with GTA4...
Don't worry they did. As long as the PC gamers get fucked over as much as possible every thing is alllllll okkk.
Never mind :(
Yeah I was thinking that was the issue, but then I got conflicting reports.
So, how optimized is the game for PC?
Fucking favela bar sequence without taking any damage in hard ? done
They are skippable. You can skip some of them, true, but only few. I've played enough now to know what i'm talking about.
So, how optimized is the game for PC?
I think it's good, runs a lot better than GTA IV does.
finished the game, took a nice 6h and credits were ~30min long for anyone who has the service pack error, set your max payne .exe compatibility to Vista Service Pack 2 and check "Run as administrator", and voilá
Can anybody help me out here? My game doesn't even get as far as the splash screen it just says preparing to launch for a total of 2 seconds and then it stops and doesn't launch. I have tried reinstalling, using the compatibility modes, installing drivers, reinstalling all the installers for Max Payne 3, and adding -windowed and -safemode to the launch perimeters. Nothing is helping me. Sorry if I sound angry in other posts, its just that I pre-ordered this game months ago, and just when it comes out and I am ready to play it doesn't work.

I already beat the game on PS3, so I know what I'm talking about.
It definitely seems like the cemetery level is broken - it does all kinds of wacky shit. In DX11 it has a gamecrash during a certain point, and on other DX levels the game loads back to the menu halfway through the cutscene before that level, and continuing the game causes a crash during loading. Fix cemetery please rockstar

It really says something about the state of modern gaming when I've gotten lost several times in this game simply because I forgot that I can open doors.
At least you can play
Uhh, well, not anymore I can't. I kinda wanna progress on the game or not play at all.
Heads up, if you didn't already know, Midnight Club II should be in your steam library if you joined the Rockstar Steam Group
When I play (because it works now) every few seconds it gets stuck and decides to stutter for a long time.
From the steam forums, I just received word that rockstar gave the option to play with soft lock or free aim on the PC version's multiplayer.... Really? I mean... really? If it ends up where everyone starts playing with shitty auto aim, no way am I going to keep playing the multiplayer.
Uhh, well, not anymore I can't. I kinda wanna progress on the game or not play at all.
Lets see the things you can do compared to the thing i can do. 1) start the game 2) Play the game 3) have an idea on how to fix it, or an understanding of what is happening 4) Play multiplayer? so far all of those things are impossible for me.
I don't know if this has been tried, but I was getting crashes to desktop and putting "-window -windowed" in the launch commands fixed it. I'm using a 7970 with 3 monitors.
So I found a way to get the game working. Remove all spaces from the game folder and the folder in my documents\rockstar games\. I had to use a crack in order to make the game work with those new names (otherwise the DRM refuses to launch the game) and it worked perfectly well. Reinstalling the game right now with proper paths so I don't have to bother with the crack.

I think it has something to do with rockstar social club.
