loved the story [sp]although i was a tiny bit disappointed that the whole thing wasnt an elaborate plan for revenge organised by wintersons blind child[/sp]
If I buy the season pass, does it come with the preorder bonuses?
By the way guys at the end of the single-player, [sp]don't kill Becker, you unlock his character for use in Deathmatch. If you kill him, you get nothing.[/sp]
if i buy the game trough intkeys since its not a steam key how the fuck im supposed to get the game and activate it?
Is the gorilla warfare pack part of the season pass, or is it free? I've heard both so far. And is the cemetery a multiplayer map?
Gorilla warfare pack is free. Cemetery is a map, on it's own playlist so it doesn't split up the playerbase.
Made it to rank 9 in MP. The Paynekiller mode is pretty cool, wish it had some New York based levels like Ragnarok or something. Needs more classic max
Wish we could skip these cutscenes. I know they're basically loading screens but does it really take so long to load a level?
Gorilla warfare pack is free. Cemetery is a map, on it's own playlist so it doesn't split up the playerbase.
Will the map be available to all later on? The map itself is in my dlc folder on my hard drive, but doesn't show up in the marketplace. I preordered through steam so I don't think I should have it.
Does anyone know where the save file is located? It's not in any of the usual haunts.
I think Documents\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 3\Profiles [editline]2nd June 2012[/editline] I just beat the game, that was fun. I found it hard on easy, how hard is hard.
I do hope the metric fuckton of requests we're receiving are actually, y'know, from fpers, and not just random people we've played against who went "LOLolL LE FAPS SOUNDS LE GREAT xDxDxD"
"I can stereotype Reddit users!"
I just beat the game, that was fun. I found it hard on easy, how hard is hard.
I imagine it's pretty hard, medium was challenging.
reposting here if i buy trough int keys how can i activate the game then?
anyone else having long ass loading problems in MP
Wonder how good GTAV will be in terms of Crews and Free Roam. I hope they keep multiplayer relatively the same, with a modded servers section. And of course, keep mods out of official multiplayer or face the wrath of something evil (like being forced to play through an even worse Revelations 2012 sequel).
Gonna put my thoughts here about that game after getting to Part 3. There could be a few minor spoilers ahead but nothing major. First and foremost, I love the gameplay but I do have a few gripes. It's smooth, it feels great, it looks great. Max actually has weight when shoot dodging and reacts appropriately to everything in the environment and that does a lot to get me immersed in the game. The guns feel good, although a lot of the automatic weapons do feel quite similar when using them. The graphics are fantastic and I can run pretty close to ultra with my setup and still keep an acceptable framerate (50 to 60 fps). I'm going to draw a lot of comparisons to the previous games, so bare with me. I feel like the pacing in parts of the game is a far too rushed, and way more linear in comparison to the first two. There is no more explore around a nice big open area and look for little extras whether it be ammo or grenades or anything else of the sort, and even if you try you constantly have Max on your back that you need to move. The grenade thing also leads me to my next point. I am a bit disappointed that Rockstar decided to exclude player controlled thrown items. I feel like a big staple of the previous two games were the grenades and molotovs, and they were always a decent strategy to getting out of a tough spot. Story wise I feel like it lacks (which isn't a huge surprise since it is not Remedy anymore), there is definitely still a bit of wit here and there but again in comparison to the first two I feel like they are on another level. Really I just miss the whole noir feeling and the graphic novel cutscenes. The new animated ones do look nice, but they just don't feel like Max Payne. That graphic novel comic book hard boiled New York cop is what made me fall in love with the original game. There was also a bit of disappointment with the lack of callbacks to the first two. I do realize that it is quite a bit down the road from the second game and that Rockstar wrote it in a way to connect with new players to the series, but I feel like they could of done a bit more. Besides Max's family the only real callback I can think of is the mention of Mona for one quick moment in the dialogue of part two. A lot of this stuff is just nitpicky though, as I said the game plays great and charmed me the second I played it. The Euphoria system looks great and I have really only had one or two corpses ragdoll in a way that looked out of normal silly. The killcams are fantastic and the new last stand type mode when you have painkillers is a great addition to those "FUCK THIS" parts. I also like how you are given a bit of ammo here or a painkiller there if you are really stuck and die a bunch of times. tl;dr The game is great/looks great/plays great, although when compared to the first two there are definitely a few flaws. Let me know what you guys think.
I think Documents\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 3\Profiles
The files in there seemed a little small to me first time round but maybe you're right.
Okay so this has probably been said, but holy shit do I need to emphasize it. I just played this on the PC for the first time, with a highly overclocked i7 920, 6 gigs of 1600 mhz ram, and a 560 Ti. I expected good performance on high settings, and definitely not dx11. This game runs PERFECTLY smoothly on my machine, MAXED OUT. I swear, no one should complain about optimization if they have. This game is incredibly well optimized, runs very well, and looks positively beautiful. Color me impressed.
i don't know if it works in the story mode but in arcade mode i skipped cutscenes by pressing mouse 1 then enter button after the "STILL LOADING" text stopped appearing whenever i tried to click with mouse
What's the difference between hardcore and oldschool?

I've played about 2.5 hours, and it's a great game, a fantastic port, but it doesn't really feel like Max Payne.
I've played about 2.5 hours, and it's a great game, a fantastic port, but it doesn't really feel like Max Payne.
It feels like Max Payne, but a big time hollywood version of Max Payne. The Remedy charm is gone.
Why is this happening? Seriously, why?
It feels like Max Payne, but a big time hollywood version of Max Payne. The Remedy charm is gone.
Better big time hollywood version of max payne than the actual big time hollywood version of max payne though; I will admit the nuance is gone though, maybe remedy could return to the franchise for a bit at some point
It feels like Max Payne, but a big time hollywood version of Max Payne. The Remedy charm is gone.
I don't know. I think Dan Houser did a brilliant job of emulating and expanding upon Sam Lake's rendition of Max's monologues/inter-character banter. Max feels like Max, and that's all that matters to me. The upscaled production value and larger set pieces are typical features of a AAA title. It's a Rockstar game, of course it's going to be Hollywoodized to some extent. But what Rockstar excels at is making huge-selling games with heart and talent behind the writing and production...they're sort of the video game equivalent of David Fincher.
What's the difference between hardcore and oldschool?
Old School is Hard without Last Man Standing.
I would pay large sums of money for the older games to be revamped with the new tech, mechanically they're really similar so it'd work really well
What exactly is the character select mode in arcade?
I would pay large sums of money for the older games to be revamped with the new tech, mechanically they're really similar so it'd work really well
I would pay $60 each for that.
I'm confused, normally on medium you can take like 10 bullets for going down, yet the amount of damage enemies do has suddenly skyrocketed and as soon as I stick my head out from cover I'm down in 2 extremely accurate pistol shots fired at me from the other end of the map.
