This game marks the first time I've been called a hacker in multiplayer. The guy who accused me had this to say

Does anyone else have connection issues with multiplayer? So far in every single match I try to play I get disconnected before it can even start because of a connection issue. When I first bought the game 2 days ago I had no problems but now multiplayer is virtually unplayable because I can't even get into a damn match.
It's most likely a problem with my internet connection (something I can't control very well because I have a terrible connection by default I guess) but I'm curious either way.

Sweet jesus Rockstar how long can it fix to make a game not crash on launch? It shouldn't have happened in the first place but they need to spend more time fixing it rather than adding more "oooh try dis here shiny thingy" to their support page.
I didn't pay 45 euro to be annoyed all weekend and most of my monday. At least most of you guys can actually play the game.

Max Payne 3 multiplayer happened
Multiplayer has been working fine for me. The only negative thing with multiplayer is the really shitty userbase. The chat can be unbearable at times.

Well it seemed to me you were shooting a lot out of the aimed mode (I refuse to call it ads) and seemed to have moderate sucsess. The rest you used aimed mode when shooting at far away targets, but you fired fairly quickly.
I constantly use the aimed mode for everything, and I don't think I fire as quickly as you. I use a suppressed .40 smg with a spring thingy and laser sight and I seem to be doing well by firing in bursts.

Really? I've rarely seen people use the text chat or voip for that matter.
I mean there was only this obnoxious prick with a UK accent that I shut up after murdering him several times, surviving a few vendettas against him and finally yelling "WASTED" into my mic after he failed miserably to dive kill me.
Other than that, I only get a few responses to me whining about the character reacting sluggishly or something and the terrible matchmaking.
But otherwise, I've yet to see anything too bad.

Hey guys, I logged in on my BF's PC and I can log into social club and get on the multiplayer fine, but I can only play LAN, everything else is greyed out, as well as Marketplace.
We have a CD key each, bought on steam, I was never asked to activate my key but it still says I have activated it when I check R*, my BF can play fine on his account, the problems are with mine. I can't see anywhere to activate it, you guys got any advice?
Everyone else just says to stop using cracked .exe's but we both own the game on steam.
My friend and I can't play.
For some reason when we try to join a party together, depending on who invited, we get a message saying FAILURE: INCOMPATIBLE VERSIONS.
She and I can join games on our own but not together.
The only different between us is that I have the retail version and she bought a key off intkeys and downloaded the game via a torrent.
wow Max Payne 3 screwed me over hard
I was playing through a 2nd time on the hard difficulty and made it to [sp]the part where Max is on the boat with the machine gun[/sp] and the game just shuts off for no reason. I start it back up and the continue button is grayed out

I literally tried everything as well as you did, and this is the only thing that worked. I played the campaign without a crash and now I'm playing multiplayer without any crashes.

It would be a good halloween costume if I could find a holster and a bald cap.
Does anyone else get annoying stuttering from time to time? Mostly in multiplayer. You can even hear the sound crack and stutter when it happens. It has got me killed so many times :v:. Otherwise the game runs really smooth, there are just these short stutters that tend to happen at the worst possible times.

Fixed by disabling auto sign in on BF's account, verifying the game on steamm restarting steam and logging in as myself. I could then authenticate the game.
Is it just me or was the whole character design of Max at [sp]The imperial palace[/sp] a HUGE reference to Die Hard.
