But you know, when Half-Life invented cutscenes that left you in control of the character, I really enjoyed that idea. And when in games like Red Dead Redemption or GTA IV, missions were designed so that a lot of the story-telling would be integrated seamlessly into the mission, I thought "This is the future." And now Rockstar takes that thing and turns it on its head, and I find it immersion-breaking, regardless of how well-orchestrated the cutscenes are.

Is the game worth it at the moment for full price? I heard the multiplayer wasn't that great.

Good god I hate the grindy trend in gaming. It's made worse by level 20 guns being straight upgrades of the starting weapons, I'm just not going to be able to play enough to get them so I'm always going to be at a disadvantage in multi.

I managed to stay completely away from this thread until now. I just completed the game and I must say, I was blown away by this game. The story was gripping and I was staying up hours later than I normally do without even realizing it. I only have a couple complaints with the story, such as [sp]why Passo was cool, then a traitor, then suddenly everything's cool again. [/sp] Looking back, I feel like there were a couple holes but maybe I'll pay more attention and grasp it all in the 2nd playthrough. The gunplay was really awesome but I wish they had kept the wounding system they did in RDR. I expected people to be crippled when shot in the leg and such but it was just like GTA4 where they were A-OK again. You say you stayed away from the thread, I imagine to avoid spoilers and then you post some anyway. I agree so much to the rest of the post though.

So can anyone explain how Gang Wars works? Because in the one match I actually got into, my team played two rounds and won both of them, then the next two rounds were just randomly given to the enemy team without us actually getting to play them. Also fuck the G3 sniper. What is this shit. The enemy team spawned on the higher end of the Favela map, and one of them just went to town on us. Since it was 4 v 8, we had fewer targets, and they just hid while that bullshit one-shot kill sniper picked us off when we tried to get near. That guy ended up 57 - 10 by the end of the match. The guy was also part of the MP3 clan, so I'm not terminating everyone with the MP3 sig with extreme prejudice.

The guy who does Becker's voice is fucking everywhere here in Brazil, you can hear him in the radio, narrating TV shows, its so god damn weird hearing his voice in the game.

How come I was doing so good in the rookie gamemodes but as soon as I was booted from that (after I leveled up past what is considered a rookie) I just get fucking killed non-stop by every single person in TDM, and don't get me started with Gang Wars. I can't do shit before I get killed four seconds after I spawn. It's annoying as shit. tl;dr: I love this game. It's awesome.

It's awesome.[/QUOTE] Try getting the [I]Big Dog[/I] in your gear slot, you should last a bit longer. As far as your troubles, I haven't really experienced that so I can't give anymore advice.

Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying to wait through cut scenes on new york minute mode?

I love playing the Facepunch DM matches because it really shows how fucking overpowered several of the guns are.

So as I said earlier I finished uploading the multiplayer compilation video I made. Would be cool if you guys could check it out.
