Managed to get the game working. It is asawe.
It isn't that bad, Just leave it on overnight or something.
Only took me 4 hours to download. So I have a question about Max Payne 1 and 2. What was with [sp]Woden's plan to kill Max? It looked like he staged an attack and "survived" and only helped Max in the end because Max would've blackmailed him otherwise. Is that correct? And why did he want Mona to kill him in MP2, was he just tying up loose ends after the fact? I just don't see why he wanted Max dead, they both had the same enemy. And why would Mona agree to kill Max of all people? And how were Mona/Woden involved in the Valkyr and the death of Max's wife?[/sp]
Ground through the night to reach lvl 20. Worth it. (I am the worst kind of person)

However, [sp]with regards to Mona/Woden's relation to Max's wife, I believe it all comes full circle because Woden was part of that Inner Circle business. Why does that matter? Because Vlad was part of the Inner circle as well. Vlad worked with Nicole Horne or was in charge of Nicole Horne (the woman who put the hit on Max's wife when she stumbled upon the documents regarding Valkyr and it's illegal usage) or something and was the true mastermind behind Valkyr (irc, mind you). I think Woden worked with Max because Nicole Horne was becoming a loose cannon with that experimental drug Valkyr. She was starting to get stronger and stronger and so in exchange for giving Max a more reputable reputation (MP1, he goes undercover for the DEA and is framed for murder and is considered a fugitive cop on the run. Remember that.), Woden wanted Max to put an end to her and he'd give him the means to do so. Not to mention that this Inner Circle involved Senators. So you can see how bad it'd look if this all got exposed when Max found out about the project in MP1. Mona was a gun for hire from Woden in MP2 (I believe in MP1 Mona was personally going out killing for the sake of her sister. I don't think she was a hired gun, per say). Max was quite a charmer and Mona I guess just fell for him. She says so in MP2. However, now that I think about it...I'm not exactly sure why Mona was hired to kill Max. It could be that Max was exposing too much or bringing down the heat on Woden and the Inner Circle by getting involved with the deaths of several senators/Inner Circle members at the high rise suites; if you remember that mission. All I know is that Mona was just crazy for Max and just couldn't do what she was hired to do in the end. Ultimately, like Woden, she's killed. [/sp]
Fuck yes, found a way around that glich that was preventing me from progressing. In chapter VI after the lobby scene when you go into the elevator the game goes to the menu (which is the glitch) all you have to do is go to continue and it will leave you at the end of the cutscene that was cut off. It's really confusing since you haven't seen what went on in the cutscene but it works. Really simple but i (and another FP'er) were stuck, this only seems to be on the 360.

[/sp]
[sp]Woden sent the Valkyr files 'accidentally' to Max's wife to get her killed by Nicole's goons, specifically to start the mess that would get Nicole taken down because she was corrupting the Inner Circle and seizing too much power. Whether it's just pure coincidence that Max is the one that goes on the roaring path of revenge and is actually capable of finishing it, or whether Woden specifically knew who could do so, is completely unknown. Afterwards, Woden got Max off the hook, probably to avoid blackmail. Vlad then gets all father-figure pissed at Woden and begins killing it from the inside-out systematically in his attempts for total control as well as ending the conspiracy his own way, and Woden hires Mona to also kill Max, for knowing too much and trying to keep the Inner Circle from being eliminated. Of course, that fails and she falls for him. Naturally, Vlad knows that when he accidentally attracts Max's attention to it and with the wild card of Mona Sax keeping him in, everything will go straight to hell - and it does. Although Woden and the rest of the circle is dead, so is both Winterson and Vlad, Mona dies due to hesitation and being shot from behind, and overall the entire conspiracy is erased with Max being kicked off the force due to shooting a fellow officer, association with a wanted murder fugitive, and otherwise. After that, depression sets in, his 'solace' at the end is only temporary and Max regresses beyond even his brooding behavior beforehand into pure alcoholism.[/sp] i dunno why i summarized all of that considering you covered some of the same points v:v:v
I... What?
so i just got to the part where [sp]Passos turns out to be a fuck. Is it safe to assume that it's for real that you were playing in a mix between drunk and hung over the whole game and only imagined him actually helping? (as the following level illustrates that he actually favoured staying passive.) If so. Can't we really conclude that all of the people that bitch about the mindfuckery aspect of the series being gone are all either not playing the game, or being imperceptive imbiciles? I mean. In MP1 it was the dreams, the fourth-wall breaking and the valkyrie stuff. In this, it's you being drunk and perceiving things in a way that they aren't and Passos just relying on you being too drunk to notice that half your bullets aren't his.[/sp] [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] Keep in mind, i haven't played past chapter 11,12 or 13.... I forget. [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] I love the way that you keep dumbling down ledges or stairs if you jump down them.
im seriously feeling the lack of a p90 in multiplay. seriously, the gun is super sexy, they should release a gun pack. that's like my only motivation for playing multiplayer, unlocking and leveling up guns.
So as I said earlier I finished uploading the multiplayer compilation video I made.
Awesome! Liked :). I friggin love the Max Payne gamemode, it's so much fun.
I...What?
Haha, what a fucking hacker.

[/sp]
(I am the worst kind of person)
You don't seem to be doing so bad like you said.
OK, I just saw something odd; I was playing deathmatch in Branco HQ and some person was playing as Mona Sax with 2 wierd looking guns. When I went over to her body it looked like she had dual either 9mm autos or .45s with a 'fire mode' mod added to them. I checked my upgrade tree for both pistols and I don't see a fire mode mod anywhere. Is it named differently in the upgrade list than it is when you try to pick it up in game? If so, what upgrade is it? I would like to put the firemode onto a 9mm auto so I don't get the shitty spread of a mac 10 or something.
Don't the 9mm autos have it by default? Just press b or whatever your bound it to.
Don't the 9mm autos have it by default? Just press b or whatever your bound it to.
you can change the fire mode on the auto? I will try this out.
At least they have it in SP, don't know about MP, haven't used them in it.
Does the console version have a fire mode button? I never found one when I was playing on 360 a couple weeks ago.
At least they have it in SP, don't know about MP, haven't used them in it.
yeah you can change the firemode in MP with the B button as well. Thanks!
The guy who does Becker's voice is fucking everywhere here in Brazil, you can hear him in the radio, narrating TV shows, its so god damn weird hearing his voice in the game.
Becker has Brazil in his back pocket. He's the SWAT, Cop, Detective, TV-Host, Radio host etc etc....
Fuck my life, now the game won't start, I get message that says "Max Payne 3 has stopped working". Suggestions, people? Please?
Got a bug where max did not get out of cover at the bus sequence but i could still shoot at people :v:
Fuck my life, now the game won't start, I get message that says "Max Payne 3 has stopped working". Suggestions, people? Please?
Happened to me before, you need to verify the files...if you have on retail i dont know, probably reinstall
Happened to me before, you need to verify the files...if you have on retail i dont know, probably reinstall
Do you mean "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache?" I did just that, but nothing got fixed. It's not physical copy either.
Maybe your steam_appid is gone? That's what made my game instacrash.
Maybe your steam_appid is gone? That's what made my game instacrash.
Even that is just fine. This sucks, and I'm not the only one who has this.
It has been a while to be honest since I've beaten MP2 or MP1 for that matter. However, (story).

i dunno why i summarized all of that considering you covered some of the same points v:v:v
Thanks, it mostly makes sense now. Though what about the [sp]attack that Woden miraculously survived? First I thought "Oh, he just got lucky." But then they made it seem like it was intentionally done by Woden. Was that part relevant in the long run?[/sp]
It's its own seperate gun. It looks like a Glock and is called "9mm full auto" in the arsenal.
It turns out it was an auto 9mm with the firemode changed to semi auto.
Does the console version have a fire mode button? I never found one when I was playing on 360 a couple weeks ago.
Yeah, you have to tap the "Back" or "Select" button
You guys up for more PAYNE tonight? I'll record it this time.
I'll make sure you get plenty of Bullet Time!!
