holy shit [sp]remember when max is on the boat and says his livers all fucked, the pallo says we can get you another one[/sp] HE KNEW ABOUT IT
I always shoot them in the body once or twice whenever I can, get up a combo then headshot them. That how I platinum'd that level.
Jesus Christ, I am still stuck on Chapter 12 when the building is fucking collapsing. I died like 100 times. It's making me mad I want to smash the keyboard. Edit: Finally, completed the bitch.
I'm going to post my thoughts here since I just had a chat with my buddy. [sp]Am I the only one who thought the ending would be better if Max died? It would have been very poetic, and have been a fitting end for Max, coming to terms with his life and finally dying after all of this happening. I mean, there's really nothing left for him after the game, either. I love the character, but I think him dying at the end of the trilogy would have been a fitting end[/sp]
What are those grinds for? I see it earns XP when you complete them, but what's that XP for?
For multiplayer.
its for the secret coop mission pack that you get for beating the new york minute hardcore mode 3 times in a row while only using 1 gun
You are also not allowed to pick up ammo for the gun at all throughout the levels.
You are also not allowed to pick up ammo for the gun at all throughout the levels.
Hey what are you talking about! I picked up ammo for the gun I used and I still unlocked the secret coop mode! You're such a liar.
Hey what are you talking about! I picked up ammo for the gun I used and I still unlocked the secret coop mode! You're such a liar.
Yeah, me too! Isn't the part where [sp]Mona comes back as a zombie and you fight Nicole Horne[/sp] really intense? I'm so glad Rockstar included these callbacks to show this is still actively tied to the rest of the series! [sp]In all seriousness that's my only complain about this game, that it is essentially a new story with Max Payne thrown into it, with only very brief mentions of the previous titles.[/sp]
I find the Hard difficulty really fun to play. You can get hit with a headshot so easily you'll spend half your time shootdodging and covering, with the rest of it on repeat cutscenes and scavenging for ammo. One thing that bugs me is the cover system. I have no idea where exactly my crosshair will be when I decide to aim and shoot from cover, leaving me open for a barrage of shotguns 300 ft away from me.
I dunno why but I played Max Payne 2 through before the first and haven't touched the original until today. Gotta say, I prefer the latter two over the first one, partially because I don't have the nostalgia factor, and partially because the guns just don't feel right. Headshots are near-impossible unless I aim above their heads and pray a little, like the bullets aren't going exactly at the crosshair. Just as well, a single shotgun blast from across a room knocks Max to near-death. If anything, Max Payne 3's easier than the first game at least, lack of quicksaves aside; a last chance if you go down, painkillers insta-recovering instead of gradually, and painkillers also recovering more health than they did in previous games. Not to mention, Max's less subtle narration in the third does feel right compared to the previous games; he only went into the deeper metaphors in the comic scenes and it wasn't too excessive (until the second game at least). So far in MP1, he's mostly just described things with fancy metaphors occasionally. By the time of MP3, Max is so bitter and aged that he just wouldn't care much for the fancy stuff. (although he does sling blunt metaphors around more than descriptions, but it works)

The game's crosshair and where the bullets actually travel are incorrect if you use anything other than a 4:3 aspect ratio.

MOTHER OF GOD! [sp]But I agree with you, it doesn't really have anything to do with the previous Max Paynes other than the fact that your max. das it. It would have been really awesome if some old characters showed up in MP3's story line, while they were doing the New Jersey flashbacks, of course (it would be pretty weird to see someone that you knew in new york IN Sao Paulo with you like some coincidence, and it would be pretty cheesey if they were there to help/fight you or something). The only gripe I have with the game. I think I enjoy MP3 more than the previous in the series for the story, even though it's not really intertwined with anything else and it doesn't feel like Remedy anymore. I wish Remedy was in charge of developing it as well, or atleast Rockstar should have gave them more of a say so instead of "yeah, that sounds good, we might add that" and more like a "sounds really great! oh whats that? keep going! definately going into the game!" kind of deal. but I still love it the way it is.[/sp]

Any fixes for it, or do I have to manage? (Up to the part before the Jack Lupino boss fight, so it shouldn't be too bad.)
playing this game shitfaced is the one of the greatest multiplayer experiences of all time.
I really enjoyed the latest installment in the series, although I just can't stop wondering why [sp]Passos left Max behind with the helicopter if he was never actually setting Max up as the fall guy.[/sp]
Suggested title once we run out of pages: Max Payne Series - Megathread V2: Alcoholic Gringo Diving Simulator Also, I'm now starting to get used to using the keyboard and mouse for Max Payne 3, due to Free Aim being a nightmare with a controller. Needless to say I need to adjust my mouse sensitivity. Also, Cheaters and hiatus loading screens erryday...
Was the pregnant chick passo's sister or girlfriend? I thought they said she was his sister but then later they refer to her baby as passos so i got confused.
sup
That whole thing with the V is incredibly far-fetched.
That whole thing with the V is incredibly far-fetched.
I would agree, but the "V" is underlined, and I'm trying to figure out why.
GTA V [editline]10th June 2012[/editline] anyways, we already know it will be released october this year sometime
If I buy Rockstar pass on steam, I will get every Dlc for free?
I would agree, but the "V" is underlined, and I'm trying to figure out why.
It really probably just is coincidence, seeing as Rockstar don't really need to remind us that they are making the fifth GTA.
It really probably just is coincidence, seeing as Rockstar don't really need to remind us that they are making the fifth GTA.
I doubt it's about the fact they're making it. If it IS a hidden hint, it'd be about the release date.
one thing do i miss much if i buy the non steam / retail version and activate trough installer?
