So the game will be a dumb DLC fest, that's great. It's like some developers are incapable of learning from their past, releasing expansions for GTA IV was great, everyone liked that, so why the fuck are they focusing on small DLC now ?
So the game will be a dumb DLC fest, that's great.
Oh no more content for a game those bastards
In case anyone didn't know, the requirements dont go "Minimum" - "Recommended" they go "Minimum supported" - "Maximum Supported". You're not gonna need a 680 to max this out.
Can anyone verify this?
If the Rockstar Pass is available to GameStop and Best Buy in the States, would be the same for Canada?
Too bad all those DLCs will be unavailable for Russia, because 1C.
uh what [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] so you mean we won't be able to buy it just because of localization issues? [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] As far as I'm concerned, Max Payne isn't going to be region-blocked or some shit. [sp]I'M LOOKING AT YOU, DN:F, WHICH ALLOWED RUSKIES TO PLAY BY THEMSELVES ONLY AND THE MULTIPLAYER'S BEEN DEAD FROM THE START.[/sp]
Oh no more content for a game those bastards
Try reading the rest of it.
Try reading the rest of it.
Well they are capable of learning, they spent a bunch of time and money making big expansions and didn't make much money out of it, so they're not doing that anymore.
actually the gta4 expansions didnt make that much money. for a game like max payne 3 it makes more sense to have frequent and relatively cheap dlc than a huge expansion in two years time.
They didn't make that much money ? that's a good thing, it means the customer was less fucked by it. And not huge expasions, but at least sizeable content packs, i doubt the multiplayer will be that popular, and separating the players with a bunch of map packs will only kill it.
They didn't make that much money ? that's a good thing, it means the customer was less fucked by it.
Are you dumb? "Oh doing this hasn't made us much money let's do it again"
Are you dumb? "Oh doing this hasn't made us much money let's do it again"
Yeah, GTA IV was such a failure that it almost broke rockstar. Maximizing profits should be the top priority over customer satisfaction, right. They Didn't LOSE money from the episodes, they made less than expected, which still is a shitload.
Yeah, GTA IV was such a failure that it almost broke rockstar. They didn't make enough money from the episodes sales for them to be worth spending so much on DLC, so they're not doing that anymore. And every company mainly focuses on maximizing the profits, that's the main point of a business, if they're not bringing that first, they're not a good business.

And no, if you care more about profit than keeping customers, you're running a shit business that is only surviving thanks to retards with more money than sense.

And no, if you care more about profit than keeping customers, you're running a shit business that is only surviving thanks to retards with more money than sense.
You're not the one to be telling whether it was worth it for them or not, you're not in charge of their finances, if they said it wasn't worth for them, it wasn't worth for them. And yes, every business cares about profit first, even Valve. That's the whole point of a business, to make as big of a profit as possible. If you don't care about maximizing profits, you'll just go bankrupt soon enough.

Valve is so loved because they can keep a good balance between profit and customers, they treat profit as a result of their good business instead of the only, holy goal, like most of the shitty companies around. Is valve bankrupt because of that ? hell no, it made them fucking rich instead.
I don't need to be in charge of their finances to perceive the obvious, like i said before, it made less than EXPECTED, that means profit and profit is pretty damn worth it.
Stop talking for the company, you're not part of it, you don't know anything about what's going on inside, if it wasn't worth for them, it wasn't worth for them. If you spend a bunch of time and money developing something and it doesn't make as much money as you expected, it wasn't worth developing.

Profit isn't everything.
Maybe for their rich CEO, but for us and the company in general, it was damn good, his fucking fault if he can't see past profit. "if you want a vibrant multiplayer community, you have got to provide content frequently and fairly quickly after release." thats a quote from dan houser. rockstar isnt trying to rip anyone off by doing small dlc, they just want to keep the customer happy. all they ask is for a bit of money in return for the time and effort. shockingly it's not a criminal offense. how long did it take for parachutes to be put into gta4?
Uh yeah, for us it's good, but we're not running the company, if it wasn't good for them, they're not gonna do it again.
..which means they're moneyhumping fucks. That's bad. Because they still won alot from it, so they're doing this for the sole purpose of wanting more and we can go fuck ourselves. But ohhh, it's alright, huh ? the world can go fuck itself as long as i have money to spend.
..which means they're moneyhumping fucks. That's bad. Stop talking about stuff you obviously have no idea about.

[editline]1st May 2012[/editline]
No, that just means they're a business. Stop talking about stuff you obviously have no idea about.
Did you just miss the entire discussion ? yes, they're a business, no they can't do anything they damn well please in the sake of profit alone, because that's a bad business. I mean, they can, but i have the right to call them shit if they do that.
i feel so-so about the dlcs, but i will probably end up buying them anyway if the multiplayer is good. they're coming out in a bit, so if i grow tired of the multiplayer by then i can buy a map-pack to refresh it a bit. don't really mind.
I really need to find $90 to buy the game, gah I hate being independent.
It's good I'm too delusional with excitement to care about paying $130 for the collector's edition + DLC. [editline]1st May 2012[/editline] Rockstar said that the Rockstar Pass should be coming to Steam.
@DaraH46 @hurricane43 @ArmoredTeeth Max Payne 3 the game itself is pretty much finished, as it’s coming out in just two weeks. All of this new DLC that we’re announcing is still in development. This is definitively not content stripped from the original game, this is all new stuff still being created for post-release. @CDTOE-1809 @Jonwils @ZigZagstory @MaxPayne1983 @batik89 @-THU31- We’re also planning on some free downloadable goodies for you guys too – but trust that in usual Rockstar fashion, these paid DLC Packs will each be very high value and very fairly priced
[editline]1st May 2012[/editline] Ohoho, this guy got bitten by the dirt (whatever that means, but what the hell):
I thought Rockstar did things better at this. No matter, I'm not touching multiplayer anyway but for shame Rockstar.

@PaddyX For shame about what? For making the best game we can and then supporting it as best we can, after its release with a variety of additional, very fairly priced content, alongside some free DLC? That is all we are doing here, and all we have ever done with DLC. We have made our plans, but we have not made this content yet, and none of it is stuff that was cut from the original game. We are sorry if you do not like the concept of DLC, but we believe, if used correctly, it can be great for gamers. We do not gouge our fans for money, but we do believe that well-made, well-priced DLC is great for those who want it, and who want to keep a game experience alive for longer. And we strongly recommend everyone tries the multiplayer – it is immense.

Haha oh god, is that Max and Vinnie kissing?
No joke, i searched up Vladamir Lem and that was the 5th or 6th picture to come up. I might just for go paying for petrol for a week and buy the game on steam.

It's impossible because of being region blocked and having A DIFFERENT FUCKING ID FOR A RUSSIAN VERSION. It's been like that for Mafia 2 for a long time. They did the same for the original Max Payne games (the second game even lacks the "The Fall of Max Payne" part in the name!), I bet they're gonna pull this shit again, because they do it every time.

ughhhh i might hold off and get the GOTY/complete pack
