He's stated for that reason many times before that they aren't reviews, and that they are first impressions. Perhaps you can't really do it with a game like Max Payne 3, perhaps it's a really bad idea, but it's a deliberate move on his part, and something he acknowledges.
I just hope that Rockstar can make up some lost cash when they release Grand Theft Auto V. If they can do that game well enough, it could turn in some monstrous profits.
No surprise they will. GTA is a huge franchise that you could say almost everyone knows about.
Rockstar's other franchises are unsung, so to speak. But I don't know, maybe this tells them something.

Red Dead Redemption was a sequel to a not very good and not very well known game yet that sold incredibly well.

Yeah, Red Dead played a lot like GTA, and GTA is pretty much a winning formula.
I wouldn't say played like GTA, it was just open world. Very unique game.

Well, every reviewer called it 'wild west GTA' or so forth for some stupid reason despite the great differences between RDR and GTA, so I guess that attracted a lot of the attention as well. v:v:v
I can see where TotalBiscuit is coming from for some things on the video. The gameplay to cutscene ratio is pretty shit for the first half of the game. When he got to the multiplayer though I was near cringing. Anyone who watches TB knows he likes lots of explosions and heavy/fast firing weapons. Seeing him use the mini .30 and trigger spamming was painful.

I was just called a cheater today for whooping some dudes ass on the club rooftops map. I took it as the biggest compliment.
i got max payne 1 on ps2 at a garage sale for 4 bucks what a steal
I got Max Payne 3 today, for father's day. I played for 20 minutes or so. I pause the game, and take a shower. When I got back, it looked like my PC restarted. I restarted the game and played for another 20 or so minutes, and this time, I got to witness my computer restart, right in the middle of gameplay. What do.
90% of the time TotalBiscuit is a huge cock. I think the whole Internet fame thing has REAALLLY gotten to him. I did like his Dance Central video though.
Oh my God I played it and all I can say is:
What the hell did they do to their engine? It's smooth as butter even on my dual core what the fuck. Kills are satisfying as fuck and I find myself dying a whole lot of times, which made me frustrated, which is good. This game is good, I really like it. Rockstar never failed me.
TotalBiscuit's video pissed me off because it felt like he said the game was "not a very pleasant experience" because he just died over and over in multiplayer and just got mad.
Also, the can't-skip-cutscenes thing isn't THAT big of a problem, you can skip some cutscenes and it felt like TB said it ruins the whole game, which it doesn't. And during the sniper part when he lost and said that the enemies look like Passos, then he was just mad and said it because he lost, if he actually would pay a little bit of attention he would know what was going on.
It's sad that probably less people will buy MP3 because of his video.

Well, I just found out my dad reinstalled the game because it wasn't working on his user. (I know it was though, I tried it before.) He also decided not to keep the saves because I told him I beat the game, and now I've lost all my Golden Guns, clues, progress, basically anything that wasn't multiplayer.
I'm in no way fucking going back to hard mode again. No goddamn way.
Could someone try uploading their progression file to a site so I can download it and try to replace mine?

Forcing DX9 mode did it for me. I believe the command line parameter is simply "-dx9"
Well and then I updated my gfx drivers and all was fine in DX11.

as in that it freezes up mid-cutscene? try verifying the game cache and then restarting your computer.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers, and i tried -dx9 and -safemode, nothing has worked, i even tried rewriting the registry value for install locations and moved it to C and that still didn't work. I've also tried installing Skidrow's crack and that didn't work either.
EDIT: I've decided that i'm going to contact valve and ask for a refund, if they don't give me one, then i will never purchase anything from steam again.
Make sure you're installing the latest nvidia drivers using the 'Express' option, not 'Custom'.

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the servers. I cant connect to multiplayer at all.
