My game was running fantastic up until just this morning. I turned it on and I'm chugging so bad I get around 10 FPS even in just the main menu. Changing graphics options doesn't make a difference at all, it's still a steady 10 FPS no matter what changes I make.
Resolution too big? My top notch computer slows the framerate if I try native 1280x1080. If you got a 16:9 screen, try 1280x720.

The thing is it was running perfectly at around 60 FPS just yesterday, and I've made no changes to my computer since then. Updated graphics drivers, disabled firewall/antivirus for MP3, etc.
Now as soon as I hit the menu it drops to around 10.

Also, no changes I make to anything make a difference. I've fiddled with every graphics setting available and nothing makes a difference.

Try, resetting your computer. Oddly, the same thing happened to me and I had a noticeable framedrop in Garry's Mod as well. It could just be coincidental.
Fuck, my game doesn't start after that last patch. It just crashes at the first legal stuff screen.
If I was to uninstall the game, would I be able to reinstall it right afterwards and still keep my progress and stats?

I think so, all the data is saved on your Social Club Account to my knowledge, it won't be erased.
If I was to uninstall the game, would I be able to reinstall it right afterwards and still keep my progress and stats?
Multiplayer, yes. Everything else hinges on you keeping your save.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, still have the same problem. I have to deal with shit like this all the time when it comes to games. I just wish for once I could sit down and enjoy a game without having another problem to fix every week.
Sorry if I'm posting here too much, it's just that this is the most active and helpful forum for MP3 right now.
What is NYM hardcore? Is that going through the entire game without dying and beating the time limit?

Yeah, You know i'm disapointed, This seems like something the dean of max payne should know.
Huh. I seem to enjoy the game more when I have the kill indicator and bullettime effects turned off. Why is this?

Hmm i dunno personal taste maybe?

It's probably more immersive that way, makes you feel more in tune with the game and its story.

That's official dean of max payne to you, punk.

I have kill indicator turned on because I don't know what I would do without it, but bullet time effects are turned off, and I have the crosshair that doesn't go red over the person. It really is more immersive.

Complete the game in one sitting without dying, on time. It's on normal difficulty.
I've tried it two times so far, first time I failed on chapter 4 and second time on chapter 5.
So I'm on chapter 6 again on NYM Hardcore, I hope I don't die at the same place again.

The game froze on chapter 11 on NYM Hardcore.
The game fucking froze on chapter 11 on NYM Hardcore. I had 26 minutes on the clock, I would have made it.
It fucking froze on chapter 11 on NYM Hardcore.
It froze.

froze froze froze froze
Okay really, I've asked this many times before, but got no response.
Does anyone else have the problem where you can't use the "Continue" option after your first playthrough? Because it prevents me from finishing Hard mode.
Saw an update.
"Ooh, maybe the netcode will be fixed!"

God damn it.
Wow. I just tried Payne Effects 3 for Max Payne 2, and I honestly didn't like it at all. It didn't feel stylish in any way. It just felt like a huge mess.

As much as some might think otherwise, I agree with you. Each time I tried the special or different controls, suddenly they'd bug out and i'd be unable to jump for a while, or my melee wouldn't work. And the 'rage bullettime' makes it nearly impossible to see what you're even shooting in the first place and slows things down too much. Great ideas, not-so-great implementation. v:v:v

Also, why did they think it would be a good idea to make the screen shake violently whenever you fire a weapon? And why does every single weapon make a ridiculously loud BANG BANG BOOM, no matter how wimpy it is? And why does Max do a stupid flip when I try to shootdodge? It just looks silly. And why does it go into some bizarre widescreen mode when I shoot people while shootdodging?
It's just really, really overdone. Whoever made it should have shown some restraint.

Is gang wars on the PC really dead?... I couldn't find a match for it today. :(
I take a one week break for Spec Ops: The Line and this happens... damn.
Pretty sad how there's one person on one of the playlists on the 360. Oh well, guess i'll have to wait for GTA V.
I just got this game :D
Yeah, there's really not a lot of people playing multiplayer at all for this game. Even on weekends. It's a terrible shame. I was planning on just buying the Rockstar Pass immediately, but I might just wait if nobody's going to be there to play the maps in a couple of months.
Well just shaved my head bald, now I can actually feel like Max Payne when I play and when I don't :v:

Want to see overdone? Play Elements Of Style. Max has somehow transformed into a faggot with a buzz cut, dumb sunglasses and a fucking earring, his trademark Berettas were replaced with Colt 1911s, and the screen gets fucking epileptic every time you fire a weapon.
Cinema on the other hand is much more subtle with its changes, but it also makes it feel much better (especially if you manage to mod the bullettime music and new Matrix-like player models out)

Planning on doing that soon. My beard isn't as long but it's getting there :v:
