Try running in windowed mode.
I found a 4:3 resolution. Now there's a new problem with the sounds. I installed the sound patch but the cutscene sounds are still missing.
Anyone know when they are launching Local Justice today?
Woo this game is fun
[editline]15th July 2012[/editline]
I'm playing with an Xbox 360 controller, do you guys recommend switching to keyboard/mouse?
very much so, it plays like a max payne game and is hence best suited to keyboard and mouse
I think overall the tone was a misfire. The first two Max Payne games were filled with humour, little surreal touches and cartoonish villains. I miss Max's wisecracks. In the first game, even shortly after his family is killed he's making fun of mobsters and taunting his torturer while tied to a chair. In this one he's either John McClane style angry or horribly depressed and putting himself down.
He just doesn't seem like himself to me. It's certainly possible for a person to change like that, but it doesn't mean the game should be written that way. And I was seriously disappointed they didn't even bother attempting a dream sequence.
The gameplay is brilliant though.
I actually really liked how Max went from being a cocky wiseass to an old, bitter man addicted to painkillers. And that he finally managed to not screw absolutely everything up at the end, he looked so happy and (finally) peaceful in the end cutscene (the one where he's in a bar on some beach and hears about[sp]Victor's death[/sp]on the TV). Really made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I'd prefer if they never made another Payne game, unless it was a prequel. Max's story is over, as far as I'm concerned.
How does one person with 2 PT92's silenced go 39-7 in a game.

Its insane.
There's fucking insane ratios. I was in a game with a guy who got something like 70-14. I sent the info to Rockstar to ask if he was hacking, and they said it was definitely a possible ratio. How the fuck does this happen?
i went 58-15 with PT92's a couple of weeks ago
got into my second hack match
almost every single member from the red team had inifite health you could end up a mag in them or melee hit them but they standed up like nothing and keep going
Playing on hard since the start. And holy hell isn't it really hard. I don't have almost any painkillers and bullet-time is really slow generating. But it all adds into the hardships Max is facing.

Yes I did, but it didn't fix the cutscenes.
There are at least 4 massive difficulty spikes during this game, and that really put me off every time I got to those points. [sp]The Harbour on mission 3, the warehouse full of gangsta's after Max shaves his head, the last part on the boat in the cruise mission, and shooting my way through the UFE at the airport in the final mission.[/sp]
Absolutely infuriating when you tap space at the wrong time at the last stretch, hit a wall prematurely, and then get shot several times through the chest as you try to get up. In fact, during the final spike I had I killed an enemy with an assault rifle, started shooting at another and then I was killed by the bullets that fired as the former went down.
I really don't like how the game sometimes puts you right in the open. Most of the time you end up behind cover though. Except for, as an example, [sp]the start of the airport level, where you arrive in room filled with enemies.[/sp]
The most irritating part of [sp]fighting Bachmeyer is right after you shoot the first part of the ceiling on him, and[/sp] the game takes you out of cover for the second part if you were already in it.
Anyone want to play some MP with me? My steam is under my name.

Hey Max why don't you stroll through the front door, Put a big shit eating grin on my face and let these bastards take turns trying to kill me..
When the fuck are they releasing Local Justice to PC?

Console players got it July 3rd.
I didn't know G was roll on the keyboard until I accidentally hit it near the end of the game while trying to switch aim :v:
So i'm playing through the original Max Payne using only the lead pipe.
Almost finished with chapter 2, wish me luck.

Somebody gotta do Crowbar Only run of Half-Life 1 and/or 2 now that you mentioned that.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game even though it wasn't Max Payne 1 or 2.
I kind of always thought that a serious tone would of set the scene a bit better, but the new Man on Fire artstyle while annoying, kind of does fit the rich and diverse environment of Sao Paulo unlike New York. I still think the New York sections were the best in the game though, nice little nostalgia almost.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind a remake of MP1 and MP2 with the updated graphics, cover system and voice actor. They'd have to restore some of the original don't-take-yourself-seriously attitude, but there's potential there. [sp]Also the Dock level on Hardcore is bullshit in a watermelon, can't imagine what it is like on Old School[/sp]
Question about the story. Spoilers for up to ch. 14
[sp]So did Passos and Payne actually attend the police academy together or was that completely made up? I can't remember anything that said for sure one way or another but Passos pretty much lied about everything else, including what country he was from. But I figure if Passos didn't know Max from before, what would have made the Brancos choose him?[/sp]
Can you melee in singleplayer?
