Don't forget about the huge amount of hackers at launch, although that is mostly dealt with now.
oh don't worry, that's not even the worst part The weapons are so unbalanced that even with good skill, a higher ranked player will kill you first 7 out of 10 times. If you make it through until the first major unlock point (20, 25?) then things get easier. It doesn't help that unlocks don't happen every few levels, but instead Rockstar decided to give you half the weapons at a certain level, then the last half at level 40. It is borderline hilarious how bad the multiplayer is in terms of structure. I love the multiplayer to death; it's some of the most fun I've had playing online in a long time. The problem is that it's also been one of the most frustrating at the same time. Every so often you get a weight limit increase, which means players of higher levels get to carry more gear, they get more perks, they get more attachments, etc. Some of the weapons are just simply better than others. There isn't a preference factor at all. X weapon is better than nearly ever other gun in the game. So, to sum it all up. You take forever to unlock anything, while higher level players have a significant advantage over you nearly every time. It is as if the people at Rockstar never played a game online. [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] I'm just rambling and raving here, but I love this game to death. The critical issue here is that because Rockstar couldn't sit down and take time to make sure the game was fair, the multiplayer will die off. Couple the balance issues with the shaky matchmaking, and I don't see the MP lasting longer than another 2 months.
the level diference and advantage is HUGE join match... full of lvl 13 people as me and 2 level 40-42 guys suddenly RPG and sniper rifles everywhere and obviously the oter team won

He was actually a pretty nice guy and he didn't even use the sniper rifle, only dual pistols.
Dual pistols are tits. Also mix matching like a pt92 extended mag with m10 or pt92 with 1911 extended mag is tits also.
I still say they copy-pasted the base weapons from singleplayer, balance-wise, and then made the attachments go from there (and there are some weapons with attachments in SP as well, so probably all the code is shared across the game in general), because that's literally how it all feels. Commendable in allowing a player to play SP and carry their skill over to MP, but when the pistols have no spread whatsoever, there's no point in choosing something like the AK47 or a shotgun over them except for situational moments. v:v:v

I need a little help with the Score Attack arcade mode. Before I play a chapter for the first time it tells me I need only 1 000 points to get platinum. That's of course hilariously easy but then I'm told I didn't get the medal because my score wasn't 20 000 points or something similar. Is there a list that tells you how much points each chapter needs for a gold/platinum, because my game tells me nothing?

Finished the game. Loved the ending.
The way they started playing Tears when he walked towards the camera reminded me of Red Dead Redemption's ending, in a great way. By the way, is the ingame version of Tears a little muffled compared to the iTunes version?

There isn't a list that shows what you need to get for each one, but if you get silver, then it will show what you need to get gold. If you get gold, then it will show what you need to get platinum. It depends on the level and how long it is, but platinum is usually between 20,000-30,000.

[editline]31st July 2012[/editline] The voice is also a bit different.

I just try and help out newer players and give them some tips, but I'm certainly not going to stop playing either. I exclusively used dual pistols and I have one class with the mini-30. I don't ever use it unless the other team is exclusively full of campers. Actually the best thing that happened to me was, last night, some super level 30 legend was getting destroyed by me and my team. He kept yelling and ranting about how much his team sucked and how great he was. So he decides to even the playing field by switching to a sniper class, but he got absolutely destroyed then. I've learned how to avoid getting killed by snipers, and I kept picking up his sniper after he died. I'd proceeded to exclusively shoot him in the face with it every time. I hate snipers in Max Payne.

I really want a theater mode. That'd be fucking great.
Some new info on the DLC. The five planned DLCs are now going to be combined and switched around into just four DLCs, and one of them will be free (The next one in August). The Rockstar Pass will also be available on August 9th.
As mentioned earlier today, here's the latest update on our plans for Max Payne 3 DLC through the summer and fall. In addition to the FREE Disorganized Crime Pack coming this August, we've consolidated the content from the remaining five packs into three larger packs, with the content from the previously announced New York Minute Co-Op Pack and Trickle Down Economics Map Pack now spread across these upcoming releases. The Co-Op content originally planned for the New York Minute Pack has been integrated into the Deathmatch Made In Heaven Pack. Check out the full release schedule below: Disorganized Crime Pack: August [Free] Hostage Negotiation Map Pack: September [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)] Painful Memories Map Pack: October [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)] Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack: October [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)] The free Disorganized Crime Pack for Max Payne 3 lets you to battle above the streets surrounding Max’s old apartment in the new Hoboken Rooftops multiplayer map. This pack also includes several new modifiers for Score Attack in Arcade Mode including Explosive Rounds where all your bullets detonate on impact, Lone Wolf AI for much more aggressive enemies and Headshots Only where the only way to kill your enemies is with a bullet in the head. Owners of the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass still gain access to all Max Payne 3 DLC at a 35% savings over the cost of purchasing individual packs. The Rockstar Pass is available now for the one-time cost of 2400 MS Points on Xbox LIVE or $29.99 on PlayStation Network and PC.
[editline]1st August 2012[/editline] http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/news/article/max-payne-3-dlc-free-disorganized-crime-pack-coming-this-august-.html
You can buy the Rockstar Pass from Green Man Gaming: http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/action/max-payne-3-rockstar-pass/
It's nice you can switch your model in Arcade mode but I really wish you could do that in Chapter selection with all the other cheats to mess around.
I hope waiting an entire month for a DLC on PC isn't going to be a common thing.

I finally finished the score attack challenges with mostly platinum medals. Since you only need gold medals for the unlimited bullet-time cheat I see no reason to redo the ones I didn't "master". What's funny though is that I didn't understand the multiplier system until last two chapters I was missing. Once I figured it out getting platinum was surprisingly easy.

But seriously that was really cool. Reasonable wait time. Also I played DM with someone from FP, that was cool. [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline] Then there was this guy. Rename this thread to Max Payne 3: Button pushing simulator, but not really because it's a fucking awesome game all around.
Gonna' See If I Can Actually JOIN A Match Now. Capitu Letters On Evvey Werd. But seriously, I've been kicked out of all but one match, and that match failed to start anyway.
I was just watching the movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington and realized there are some visual techniques used similar to those in Max Payne 3 Skip to 3:25 for an example, text similar to that in Max Payne is displayed on the screen to emphasize plot points (ignoring the subtitles) If this has been brought up before sorry for being late
So I finally tried the multiplayer. First thing I notice is that I leveled up to level 8 just from playing the Story and Arcade. I tried the rookie deathmatch and to my surprise there was one godmode cheater in it. After two rounds I decided to leave. After that I could only join normal deathmatch. It was filled with mostly armored opponents but I did manage to get few kills before the game kicked me out. On unrelated note, I realized some of the music in SP seems to imitate hangover.
Why does rockstar hate me?.. Every server i join, I get in their lobby but drop out as it loads well.. 9/10 of times sometimes it works, Same thing with GTA IV i never got that fixed hell! i even bought a new pc back then same issue, I even switched internet provider.. Ive looked on the webs for sollutions i dident find anything but i found out that rockstar has some trouble with some small europa countrys? Are the blocking out countries?.. this is bullshit. All i ever wanted is just to play mp and not have this loads of bollocks from rockstar with it.
