Oh, remember that social club sweepstakes where you could win a Zotac GeForce GTX 670 as a grand prize?

They're giving out three Max Payne Goodie Bags for three super-lucky people, each containing collector items and a snazzy Zotac GeForce GTX 670 AMP. For the United States:
See details and how to enter HERE
But WAIT. I bet the people residing in the UK might think at first: "So this is only for the US? Bullshit!", but there is actually a seperate competition with the same prizes for the UK here.
So, if you want a small-but-nevertheless-existant chance to win it, you won't have to worry about the US competition swamping the three bags. We'll have three bags of our own in the UK.
Why do I sound like a bloody advertisement?
no love for other countries? :(
Haha, I've been playing through the campaign on Old School difficulty now and I'm at the Palace Hotel or whatever it's called.
Fucking hate the rooftop segment. It's probably one of the worst parts in the game and not because it's hard, per say, but because it's just bloody annoying every time you die you need to play from the start of it every. single. time.
I find this game to be more fun on the harder difficulties though.
Old School's easier than Hard, in my opinion. It reminds me more of the difficulty from the first two Max Paynes, which I guess is why it's called Old School.

An easy way to cheese the armored guy at the end of that is by keeping the sniper rifle from earlier, but otherwise yeah, I had to memorize that damn scene. Rockstar's sadism shows its head. :v:

I was debating picking up the sniper but I just felt that I'd be safer with the light machine gun instead so I hauled that around for most of the level. I'm starting to regret it :v:

I actually like playing it the Old School way. The last stand thing was cool and could be kinda useful if you're playing for the first time but usually the second time around you have much more confidence since you're familiar with everything this time.
Uhh... is the unlimited bullettime worth it to unlock?
I finished the game once and it'd be cool to play it through with unlimited bullet time or something, but before that I gotta beat every level in gold-platinum ":v:"
And even then I'm not sure can you play the campaign through normally, but with the unlimited bullet-time, or maybe it was in some other SP game mode.
Yeah, it's really fun.
It's not that hard to get gold in score attack anyway.
And you can do SP in it, but you have to go to 'replay chapter'.
I'm using my old mouse right now because I just smashed my regular one into the desk so hard that it broke. A 2/14 kill/death ratio did this to my mouse. Games can make me mad, frustrated, distressed, but no other game has made me smash my mouse so hard that it breaks. That is the power of Max Payne 3 multiplayer, my friends.

Automerge crashed and burned 5 miles off the coast of Malta.

I'll never understand people getting so angry over games that they start smashing things.
Anyway, to get gold/platinum in score attack is actually pretty easy. You should have gold weapons so they have larger magazines. Next play as Borrowed Vest Max because you survive more hits. Also don't worry about deaths, there are checkpoints. This arcade mode is all about aim. Take your time aiming, don't go for headshots from the start. Shoot them in the body first until you reach 10x multiplier. After that each headshot will give you 1200 points and let me tell you that's a nice reward.

My game is updating, anyone knows what it is?
As far as I can tell it is just Local Justice plus pre-order DLC being made available.
Maybe they finally released local justice to pc.
I thought that was tomorrow.
just had a great match with another facepuncher
and by great i mean him shooting the fuck outta me :v:
I'm not sure if this is new but after the update some cutscenes show a SKIP button.
I also need few tips for Multiplayer. Is having just one handgun a big handicap? What about armor? Also what are the OP weapons? It might not be fair but my enemies won't be kind, too.
So far the best place I got in Deathmatch was second but that was only against levels 10-40 where the minority had higher levels. My last match was filled with mostly 40-50 and I was lucky to even get a kill.

my usual combo for close quarter maps are 1 smg and the 1911 as well light armour so i dont get too slow and a grenade since its the best weapon in CQ maps
for more long ones i usually use double pistols or just the FN Fal + strong pistol in case someting goes wrong

I got my comic books. Surprised to see that I got two copies of the comic, a heavy-duty protective plastic sleeve, and the usual Rockstar stickers/compliments slip.
I hope you like a picture from my 6 year old phone

Nothing new about the comic itself. It's about the size of an average comic book, looks great. Some advertisements for Max Payne 3 and the next issue. A hard cover graphic novel with all 3 comics is what I'd really want.
[editline]8th August 2012[/editline]
I just noticed the cover is really dark and contrasted compared to the one in the online series.
Is anyone else having problems with multiplayer? After the update everytime I try to join any kind of gamemode I get disconnect because I received some bad data.
Social club is fucked up, it won't initialize and I can't load the game
I googled some fixes but they didn't work, what do
Well, I fixed the Social Club UI issue by going to Max Payne 3 folder and finding an installer for it. After that it worked as normal, I only needed to re-enter my password. But the MP issue is really pissing me off, because I can't connect to any games. And apparently I'm not the only one with this issue.
lol piracy
that's why they do it, but complaining about it would be hypocritical
The hell?
Why is then Store suddenly telling me my Social Club account doesn't meet the minimum age requirements? :|
Can I please get an invite to the FP group? My nick should be marden13.
Won a game of Gang Wars but I don't think my character cared.

How's the local justice dlc? Is it worth what it is now?
well the dlc update seems to have completely broken the game for me
any game connection either ends with "bad data", "connection errors" or the game crashing outright
not to mention it keeps resetting my SPP character, god damnit
