Hmm, imo that is one of the easiest parts of the game. Are you sure you are thinking of chapter 4?
Oh sorry, I was talking about New York Minute mode, I'm not getting the extra time for explosion bonuses to get platinum.
I had to do part a few times to get platinum I think. There is a really good part to get time. When you are coming out the back end of the bar with the guys standing around the two cars, headshot them, and then run to the gate. Time will stop while Passos catches up with you. During this time, you can shoot the cars and get an extra 20 seconds or so at no cost. When you are going through the alley with all the cars, I'd recommend just diving forward, getting a headshot or two, then emptying whatever's left of the mag into the cars. Added time for explosions generally only get added if a bad guy dies or gets injured, which is why you have to make sure there's somebody alive by the car instead of headshotting them all immediately. You can also wound them which can stop them from running away from a car on fire.

Also thanks for the tip with freezing time, that's useful.
I wish my game would work. Ever since this update sometimes ago, when I run the game it does "Social club UI failed to initialize" or something and all I can do is alt f4 out of the game.
There was a fix for that a few pages back. But that may have been fixed already with the recent update: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/21535227-august-13-2012-max-payne-3-patch-notes
- Release of Payne Thresholds, a set of multiplayer challenges designed to reward players with bonus XP for accomplishing certain feats during a multiplayer match - The new Multiplayer Player Card, which allows you and your friends to track multiplayer stats including current amount of XP, total kills, favorite weapon and more. - New Automated cheat protection and lag protection measures. - Improvements to multiplayer load times - Players can now spawn with dual wield if they have two sidearms and no two-handed weapon equipped - Polish language support has been added - Party leader now has the option of taking entire party with them when they back out of a match - Weapon rank in the Arsenal is now visible on the left side of the screen, not just the right - The Crew menu is now available inside lobbies - XP gained for completing Grinds no longer contributes to rankings in Gang Wars matches - Improvements to the spectator camera in Gang Wars - Gang Wars wager system improved to better show betting results PC Fixes (v 1.0.0.49): - Steam installation fix to reduce the chance of “Social Club UI Failed to Initialize(7)” issues when launching from the Play button - Fix for DLC content playlists not appearing in Steam SKU - Fix for compatibility issue that was resulting in “Received Bad Data from Host” errors - Fix for several code redemption and entitlement bugs that were preventing code redemption and access to DLC through the Rockstar Pass - Fix for “Age/Region” errors when trying to access the in-game Store using a Social Club country that did not match the IP address location - Fix for Vote Kick circles extending above and below the intended display box area - Fix for backspace in lobby chat not working properly
Go to your game folder, find the installers folder and run the latest social club UI .exe. And my game updated few minutes back. Possibly late?
Gotta say, I like the game but they turned it into an action movie. Not cool. Also multiplayer is okay, I played a game of it a couple weeks ago and I wasn't really blown away. It was too easy
Gotta say, I like the game but they turned it into an action movie.
And the first two had no action at all?
And the first two had no action at all?
Ofcourse not, there was no slow-mo diving and shooting in the first 2...
probably should have worded that better Well, I mean like there's not enough noire for my taste, and way too much die hard 4 The only times I felt at home were the flashbacks. I didn't like the setting much and I didn't like how it played out either. I knew from the moment they said it was going to be in brazil that I wouldn't really enjoy it whole heartedly
Am I the only one who thinks that the multiplayer is hilariously unbalanced?
Have you been elsewhere on the internet? Loads of other people think also. I think you can find a few in this very thread.
Is there some good tactic how to level up faster in MP?
Am I the only one who thinks that the multiplayer is hilariously unbalanced?
almost everyone thinks it's unbalanced
I always seen this as Die Hard game, rather than a Max Payne game, good game, good Die Hard game, bad Max Payne game.
Is there some good tactic how to level up faster in MP?
Score attack can help you rank up.. As long as you try to get gold or platinum
Rockstar Research: Revisiting the Ghosts, Goons and Graveyards of NJ & NY in Max Payne 3
[SUB][SUB]Walton's Bar in Hoboken where Max has a fateful and violent encounter - a fictional bar inspired by many such gritty real-life watering holes throught Northern New Jersey and New York.[/SUB][/SUB] Like Deja Vu All Over Again Corporate greed, nightclub shootouts, helicopters, vertigo-inducing rooftops, pill-popping, even Captain Baseballbatboy — the more things change for Max in Max Payne 3, the more they stay the same. Our beleaguered NYC cop pursues the promise of a fresh start working in São Paulo, Brazil, but as a couple of turning point flashback sequence levels reveal in the game, this descent into the volatile South American city's chaos is sparked by a chance encounter that took place back in the snow and darkness of New Jersey — where the butchering of his family many years ago began Payne’s downward spiral — and with death-dealing gangsters again in hot pursuit. In Max Payne 3, we find our protagonist planted on a barstool at Walton’s Bar near his Hoboken hovel, busy drowning eight years of horrific memories in drink. A dispute with a young hothead from the local DeMarco crime family rapidly escalates to pistols drawn, then gunfire and a mob of angry Mafiosi out for Payne’s blood. But what else is new? [SUB][SUB]Fantastically moody and atmospheric, glimpses of a couple of Hoboken's bars from our original research scouting trips.[/SUB][/SUB] "From that moment, I was dead in that town..." In between traveling thousands of miles to extensively research, document and collect assets to inspire the environment and level design of Max’s new Brazilian home, Rockstar's Research and Development teams also invested invaluable time scouting a bit closer to home, gathering appropriate reference material from his old stomping grounds in New York and New Jersey. A dozen locales across Hoboken, Newark and New York City were visited for the vibe and inspiration of a gritty bar where trouble could start at any moment. Some of these charming points of interest had acquired a degree of infamy thanks to their histories as former Prohibition speakeasies, or for hosting notorious Irish gangsters and with them, instances of many fistfights and shootouts over the decades. From our tour of East Coast dive bars, highlights included our Hell’s Kitchen stops with venerable places like the landmark Rudy’s Bar and Grill, the over 100-year old McCoy’s, the now-shuttered Scruffy Duffy’s and Smith’s Bar — made famous in Scorsese's Bringing Out The Dead — that still teem with the dark, gritty ambiance, smart-mouth regulars and divey décor of classic East Coast watering holes. Further downtown, we canvassed Little Italy's Mulberry Bar, a historic 'old neighborhood' bar that was used for the opening mob lunch scene in "Donnie Brasco" - and the Ear Inn further west, drenched in underworld folklore since it's days as a Prohibition speakeasy and brothel. Across the Hudson River, we visited Newark’s homey Ironbound neighborhood spots like the Portuguese pub Flor Do Minho, patronized by die-hard locals and tough truckers. And in Hoboken proper, a range of places were toured from stubbornly old-school, “classic old-man bars” (to borrow a term from Anthony Bourdain) like Mario’s Bar and Wilton House, or newer symbols of gentrification like the Black Bear, packed with dozens of flat screen TVs and yuppies, to the chagrin of the BnR (or Born and Raised Hobokenites). Much has changed over subsequent generations and the now-trendy area has seen median household incomes have risen above $100,000. But stray too far from the proverbial path (or the literal PATH) into the outskirts of town, and Hoboken can be just as seedy and dangerous as it ever was. The game depicts an illegal chop shop near Max’s apartment, junior mobsters in training harassing him as he sips booze — and this too is the real Hoboken. Its violent crime and property crime rates are actually higher than New Jersey’s overall averages, and in some places shiny new luxury condos lie just a stones throw from notorious public housing projects right across the street. That’s no knock on Hoboken, a great town with many great spots and some not-so-great spots like any other city, especially one with Hoboken’s population density, the third-highest in NJ. Besides, as we know, trouble tends to follow Max no matter where he goes… [SUB][SUB]Left: Max visits the gravesite of his slain wife and baby daughter; Right: At the famous Calvary Cemetery in Queens, gravestone of a child murdered by NYC's infamous Black Hand mob in the 1920s.[/SUB][/SUB] Partnerships Start as They Mean to Go on After Max and his friend Raul Passos manage to shoot or shake the various gangsters on their tail, they escape the Hoboken streets with their pistols still smoking. Passos assures him he has friends there that can help them dodge the heat for a few days until they can flee to South America. Max decides to bid one final farewell to his wife and daughter’s graves at Golgotha Cemetery (named after the site of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion) before his self-imposed exile. Max’s bad luck is as reliable as ever, and he finds DeMarco muscle laying in wait for him there. A ballet of bullets is unleashed in a furious shootout, littering the snowy cemetery with shells and bloodstains. Gothic and beautiful and eerily quiet, our Golgotha Cemetery map was inspired by many of the New York's massive and historic cemeteries - some of the largest in the United States. These sites included lower Manhattan's Trinity Cemetery; Trinity’s original site near Ground Zero in NYC dates back to 1697, while its sister cemetery uptown in Washington Heights (established in the 1840s) has interred some of New York’s historical elites. Among them are famed naturalist and painter John James Audubon, who formerly owned the land, various members of New York’s regal Astor family, and Eliza Jumel, ex-wife of former US Vice-President Aaron Burr. (It is even rumored that Mrs. Jumel’s ghost still haunts the nearby Jumel Mansion.) Smith and Carmine DeSapio; and even New York’s first and most famous mob-busting cop (Joseph Petrosino). A tough old gang buster like Joe would understand: when push came to shove at Golgotha, Max and Raul had no choice but to wage war atop those hallowed grounds inspired in part by his own final resting place. Gotta love R*'s impressive attention to detail. Didn't they observe the traffic patterns in NYC when creating GTA IV? [editline]16th August 2012[/editline] ye
The Rockstar North team made two trips to New York for research, one at the start of the project (which is done with every GTA game) and another smaller one further into development. A full-time research team, based in New York, handled further requests for information ranging from the ethnic minority of a neighbourhood to videos of traffic patterns. According to a financial consultant for Take-Two Interactive Software, around 150 game developers worked on Grand Theft Auto IV. The team consists of core members of the Grand Theft Auto III team, albeit larger.
Also there's going to be double XP all weekend for all platforms as well as a Social Club multiplayer event tomorrow for a chance to win a GTX 670 and other shit

I'm not sure, actually. http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/news/article/get-double-xp-in-max-payne-3-multiplayer-all-weekend-beginning-w.html It's probably the same as last time they were giving away stuff. Play in at least one full game with a MaxPayneDev and then they'll e-mail you or something.
I just beat the game, and I gotta say that's it's on of the best games I've ever played. The amount of detail they put into the game is amazing. Though some parts might be a little annoying, but the story kept me driven(Even though it got boring at some parts). And the last stage was awesome.

Whos idea was it to add that weird camera breaking effect in the cutscenes every 4 seconds?
It is a visual representation of how Max feels inside.
Like an annoying piece of shit?
Like an annoying piece of shit?
Strobing and bright lights annoying the hell out of him?
Except for the [sp]New Jersey[/sp] levels, I really felt like another level where they captured the spirit of the previous games entirely was in the second to last chapter. [sp]The police station[/sp] is a great setting and Max's monologues are one of the best in that one.
Oh no. Missed the sweepstakes. Well, I'll have to wait and see if I'm one of the 3 in 100000000 or so (and no, I'm not going into specifics) people who won a Zotac AMP Edition GFX Card. ...Oh boy, even though it's just the UK I need to worry about, I'm thinking it'll take even more luck than a planet's chances of sustaining life like Earth. *melodramatic* Even then, I'll need to buy more things to be able to use it. One thing's for sure...that baby is not going to be sitting on a dusty shelf when it arrives. That is *cough* if I win one. But yeah, good luck to everyone who entered the sweepstakes/competition. Is it just me, or have all the MP3 competitions/sweepstakes I've seen offered a GTX model for the grabs?
Probably because nvidia sponsored Max Payne 3 and gave R* money or something. Here is a set of wallpapers I made [t]http://uppix.net/8/7/b/e219eeccb8c83cb94ecedcb44e463.jpg[/t] [t]http://uppix.net/e/3/c/30bc3143e4bcff3ee1d05a92866be.jpg[/t] No Max Payne 2 version because nobody likes him
