Compared to the sniper elite thread, I can't believe how slow this thread is going. Sniper elite looks like an awesome game, don't get me wrong... but I thought Max Payne 3 would have a lot more fans posting. *shrugs*
Well, there is a demo out for Sniper Elite, so they have more to post about than we do.
We need more gameplay footage.
We need more gameplay footage.
There's already been quite a few highly-detailed gameplay trailers.
Like, I really don't want to be a sour egg or anything but I think deep down inside we all know we'll play MP3 every now and again in the future for nostalgia sake and post pictures of it five years from now saying "REMEMBER WHEN??? OHHH, those were the golden days" but really we'll just be playing sniper elite v2 forever and ever and just not think anything of it because it's that good of a time waster. max payne 3 has a juicy story and great bullet cam effects and shit, but sniper elite has x-ray, dude. x-ray. there's no way that will get stale.
what are you doing
stating truth home [editline]19th April 2012[/editline] obv mp3 will rock sales but lets face it sniper elite will get a loyal fanbase of autistic kids who obsess over making sure they get max capable points on every mission, meanwhile max payne's userbase will play the story, clap their hands and go back to playing sniper elite (or other games with replay value) (after they make a thousand gifs before realizing even with euphoria the deaths really aren't that cool)

The demo was completely linear and after you've finished it once, there's not much you can do different after that. And MP3 has multiplayer which is gonna be awesome.
I wish there would be some Co-op missions like those in Splinter Cell Conviction, playing that was awesome with a friend.
I wish there would be some Co-op missions like those in Splinter Cell Conviction, playing that was awesome with a friend.
Same. If it was something like the Uncharted co-op missions, I would play them until the end of days. Uncharted 2/3 has a good flow in its co-op missions, with cut scenes instantly turning to gameplay. It would fit Max Payne perfectly.
PC screenshots + sparse preview incoming http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/max-payne-3-preview/
Somewhat surprisingly, Max Payne 3 feels as fluid and gratifying in 2012 as it did back in 2001

But the change of scenery doesn’t mean a change of tone: Max Payne 3 is as noir-y as a black and white film about a PI in a trenchcoat smoking a cigarette
Looks like the default controls have changed a tad from 1 + 2.
Press Left-Shift and time slows down. Press Space and Max launches into a lengthy ‘shoot-dodge’ leap, letting him draw a bead on his enemies and execute them in mid-air.

It’s clear the new developers understand Max, and want to produce a game as simultaneously silly and serious as its predecessors – a game where a fat, growly man can launch himself feet first through a window and slide down 30ft of tarpaulin, kick a soldier in the face, then get up a second later to complain about his day. Rockstar wear their influences on their sleeves: Max Payne 3’s got the obvious nods to films – Man on Fire, Boiling Point, Reservoir Dogs – but its biggest informer is Max Payne itself.
I think these are console screenshots from some French site. I just got Max Payne Advance on my Gameboy Advance :v: It's raelly cool
Okay, this is a bit scary. If bullet-time-jump is at space, that most likely means no jumping (and in worst case, chest high obstructions). Off course, you should be able to rebind keys in case there is ability to jump and its binded to another. But in case it's not possible, this doesn't feel good to me. I don't really like games with no ability to jump, Bulletstorm or Gears of war for example. Taking away majority of the Z-axis in movement is pretty limiting. I admit, it would look silly in multi-player, 20 guys jumping around, shooting dual smg's all over the place. Also, balancing the sniper weapons in multiplayer is going to be difficult. If they have pinpoint accuracy even when hip-fired like in older games, they are going to be ridiculously overpowered, or have shitty damage overall. Since it's pretty easy to line up head-shot with bullet-time going on before bullet's catch you, there are most likely going to be some balance issues. Alternative would be having less accurate sniper's, but that would be just silly.

Not to mention it would look really strange.
Why would you want to jump over obstructions when you could dive over them in slowmo? Also, I hope Max Payne 3 gets a GBA port.
Why would you want to jump over obstructions when you could dive over them in slowmo? Also, I hope Max Payne 3 gets a GBA port.
Are you sure you don't mean DS port?
Are you sure you don't mean DS port?
He said GBA port.
He meant PS Vita port. we all want a ps vita port.
I just got Max Payne Advance on my Gameboy Advance :v: It's raelly cool
I fucking hate that game so much god dammit I rage just thinking about it
Why would you want to jump over obstructions when you could dive over them in slowmo?
I used to jump alot, actually. For climbing on top of crates especially. And then i used to bullet time dive from the top of a stack of those crates and rain bullets on people with dual wielded Ingrams that i only ever used for this exact thing.
Jumping in games is fun. Max Payne 3 should let you jump.
boycott rockstar games no jumping no sale bad game 0/10
boycott rockstar games no jumping no sale bad game 0/10
would not fuck.
boycott rockstar games no jumping no sale bad game 0/10
The normal jumping is probably just un-binded and you could look through the settings for a quick fix.
